I pushed her to go speak and provide information in hopes that the police give her peace of mind and show her there was faith in humanity & people cared about her. After calling her- I realized she was more hurt inside than before she went, she told me that it seemed like they didn't care and found it like a "joke". This broke my heart. As an 18-year-old college student who cannot visit her frequently, I felt like it was my fault that I pushed her to go. On my end I spoke with the San Luis Obispo Police Department and a few police officers came and spoke to me... they were concerned about my mom. The officer said our home station would provide her with a Victim/Witness assistance card. However, my mom never received those resources from this department. I hope they didn't think her situation was any less important than another situation. She is human, not any less of a person. A small situation to you might quite literally be traumatizing to another. We all need love and compassion- For the next mother that come in please do better. Thank you. On a positive note- The department picked up phone calls efficiently and transferred me to the dispatch center with no hassle. He makes up the smog failure as a visual problem, he just tells you it failed the visual, then does no repairs, and then just re-tests the vehicle, and it passes the second time for more smog money, plus the fake repairs. This guy is a con man, and should lose his BAR Smog License, and probably should be doing jail time for fraud. If this has happened to you, contact me ASAP, and i will tell you how to file a formal complaint with the BAR Bureau of Automotive Repair. BAR is the state run smog test people who would love to hear from you about any weird encounters with Economy Smog Check in Burlingame at 1480 Broadway inside the Shamrock gas station. On your smog test paperwork is his state issued BAR license number, so send me that BAR number, the type of failed test reason, and the date this happened to you.
