This was a pretty well run DUI checkpoint. But I don't recall seeing the huge orange sign warning people that there's a DUI Check ahead. But as I got closer, I was pretty sure it wasn't a free carwash with all the police cars all lined up. The officer asked to see my driver's license and that's all. I was quickly waved thru, and it was done. Pretty straight forward, no looking inside your vehicle with flashlights.

The first time I drove by and it was closed but I didn't really think about calling them to get someone to sign off it. I then have been so busy since I got the ticket and was barely in Daly City. I was then gone for a month and when I got back I received a notice in the mail that I need to respond. I thought I had until February to fix it but I still had to pay a fee and get it signed off. I came back to Daly City without my car and my ticket was in my car. I thought a photo copy was fine to get it signed off so I asked my parents to get the ticket from my car and email me a copy of it so I walked to the police station and the office was closed again. I swear I never see cops here. The photo copy didn't work. They needed a certified copy of the ticket or the actual ticket. I had no car to get a certified copy from the court house so I had to ask my parents to overnight the ticket to me so I can get it signed off. I came back a few days later to the police station. The office was still closed. I don't believe it ever opens. I called again and then the police officer came and signed it off! It has been crazy just to get this thing signed off but I am glad it's over. Anyways, has the office ever been open???? I guess they keep it closed forever. Not much happening in Broadmoor. I still don't understand why Broadmoor has it's own police department. This is Daly City to me!

The jackasses at this precinct have half the parking lot designated for their use yet they continue…read moreto stick their vehicles in every other spot they possibly can just to avoid using any of their own, including smack in the middle of the driveway making safe passage impossible. I've been in three accidents in this parking lot thanks to the fact that the cops insist on parking in the stupidest ways imaginable making an already crowded situation with very low visibility a thousand times worse. Of course, there's no one to cite them for parking illegally because their doors are always locked to prevent the public from seeing how little work they actually do in there.

"Batch" delivery to our PO Boxes with days of empty boxes (never happened before in 20 years) then crammed boxes. Yellow slips with a "sorry we don't see anything" after waiting in line, yellow slips for packages when 50% of the keyed boxes are empty. Waiting on the postmaster to finish talking to some person about non postal related stuff for minutes and told , I'll be with you in a minute, standing there with my yellow slips with a line forming behind me. The workers working hard filling P.O. Boxes and sorting mail while their boss stands there like a statue not offering direction or helping. It's clear to this family that the problem is with the boss here. I could ignore the rudeness and disrespect if he performed even at a barely acceptable level, We have received expensive orders over a month after tracking showed them arrived and missed the date to return them. Just crazy. Never in six decades have I seen such utter incompetence.

Since I'm a newbie to handle the project myself, I didn't know where to start and had lots of questions. Maureen and Nicole at the office were so helpful. They not only walk me through the whole progress, they answered all my questions. Also gave me advice and what to expect. Sarah at planning has been patiently guide me through the planning application. When it comes to building codes, Ray and Tim have taken their time without any hesitation. My inspector Will, which is the one I see most of the time. I can't say enough good things about him. He is very straight on the inspections. He went through all the little details on my architect and engineer drawings making sure everything is done correctly, but also very educational. Every time I see him, he always prepared for the next inspection and point out a few things I'll need to do. Which makes every inspection smoother. Finally, everyone there makes me feel like they're always there to help. Their culture, services, efficiency, professionalism and management are second to none. They rewrite the standard of government agencies. I know they don't need review for business, but I truly believed they do deserve to be recognized.

absolutely lovely town to drive through, as i've found myself cutting through this beautiful town…read moreen route to san mateo when i have to travel along 280 vs 101. all of the tree-lined roads are a bit windy and curvy, and absolutely beautiful to look at during the autumn months since the leaves are red, orange, and gold. the houses are quite large and ornate, each with its own unique features, many featuring the gated, long driveway. if only i made enough to afford a house here! for now, i will settle on taking the "scenic route" from 280 to get to downtown san mateo, and just enjoy the view and peace and quiet that is hillsborough.
