I have banked at Midfirst Bank at their San Tan location for several years now. I absolutely love this bank! Every time I go inside that branch, it is like coming home to a special welcoming family! I don't bank here as a regular customer but I swung by because I needed to break some large bills. They were very nice and didn't ask if I was a customer, and just broke the bulls without a problem. It didn't feel like a typical bank inside. It was very nice and welcoming. If I wasn't completely happy with my bank I would give Mid First a serious look. read more

They are one of only a few local banks in Arizona that are privately owned and have a large presence across the valley. They are in Oklahoma and Phoenix only but you can use your debit card at any ATM and never pay any fees to Midfirst or the other bank. They are very friendly and wait times are always good. They also offer pretty much the same deals that any other bank offers. All their banks are nicely appointed on the inside. This location has soaring ceilings, nice floors, and lots of light. It is a lot different from any other banks. Highly recommended as I can't stand chain businesses and too big to fail banks. read more

Rude staff. Opened and then closed my account within a few months. Spent more time on the phone trying to get things straightened out (and not succeeding) than it was worth. Brendan was not the best choice for a first impression of this bank. He didn't communicate very well, was not welcoming at all, and told me at the end of opening the account that if I had questions about my account not to call them because they'd just refer me to the number he scribbled for me on a sticky note. All I got from him when I left was my account information, and a list of fees; no welcome note, and no thank you. After twice changing my account to show I did not want paper statements I got paper statements and got charged for them. The young lady I closed the account with, didn't seem to really care whether I stayed with Midfirst or not, she seemed really unconcerned that I was unhappy with my experience with them, and offered no apologies, just stared at me while I talked and then started clicking on her computer. She then told me if I wanted my statement fees returned I could get those but then I would have to return again the next day to close the account, I couldn't get both done in the same day. Maybe other Midfirst banks are different but the two people I came in contact with at this branch have a lot to learn about customer service. read more

Such a great bank. I like this place and I'm going to stay for a long time. Hope more people join. I have a loan and two business accounts with this place. ASU students get free checking accounts. Besides that there are many different account types, personal and business, to fit your custom needs. The branch manager, Michael, goes above and beyond for his clients. The tellers and personal bankers are all really nice and helpful. The bank inside and out is beautiful. Feels like a high scale hotel and not your run of the mill bank, very high quality. Even though it's a nice looking bank I stay because of the service. Top notch in every sense of the word. I've had bank accounts at several different banks and this is by far the best. They do things the right way. I always get fast immediate service and all the staff remember you. You're not just a number. I like the fact that they're open 7 days a week and from 7am-7pm (sat and sun are shorter hours). I also like that they're privately owned. A complete disaster. Every time I deposited cash, the teller asked me if I sold a car and if I said no, asked Where did I get the money. Anytime I took money out, they would ask what would I do with the money. IT'S NONE OF YOUR F****ING BUSINESS !!!! Michael (manager at this location) treated me like a criminal when I closed my account. They were whispering to each other, made me wait for very long time to close the account. Business partner has been ranting and raving about how amazing MidFirst has been for his commercial needs, so I figured I would stop in. I wanted to open a couple business accounts and talk about moving my personal banking accounts over at the same time. Beautiful office, we were greeted almost instantly by the friendly tellers and even offered a bottle of water. Wow, color me impressed. Personal banker came out to meet us and we could just tell his vibe was completely different than the others. He asked if I had the sole prop trade name registered and when I said no, he instantly locked his computer and said, "well we can't do anything for you then." It was pretty obvious we were bothering him on a Friday, yikes. No offer to help or explain the matter in order to gain new business, I was shocked. It took me 10 minutes to register a "trade name" later at home - something I could have done in the bank while he was opening all of our personal accounts... I was shocked by the customer service and lack of wanting to sign up a new member. I would strongly suggest having this person go through some training about uncovering needs and how to talk with customers. With the right advice/help he would have signed us up with at least 6 new accounts. Missed opportunity for sure, although I see this location get the worst reviews. read more

If I could do 0 stars I would. Where do I start? It's annoying to field invasive, "personal" questions when I come in for a quick bank transaction. "Where do you work?" Is the most common question I've been asked when I have had to step inside. Since the same question happens every time, I know their effort at making this a "personal" banking experience is fake and forced, which is even more annoying. I cashed a sizable check, well tried, a few months back, and the sum of money was not large enough where I thought it warranted a return trip. They said they had to get the funds and they'd hold the check and I was to come back 2 days later. Ok? So I returned and the teller looked at my account like none of this was obvious, my visit was a complete surprise, and he processed the transaction like it was a WITHDRAWAL not cashing a check. Wtf? Also, they had to give me about half the money in 20's because they ran out of 100's. How does a bank run out of 100's? I was especially annoyed because this was after I gave them a two day headstart so I could even get the money in the first place. Also, I found the teller asking questions about how/where my check came from to be too prying and quite frankly, give me my damn money and stop asking questions about things that aren't your business. A month ago I went in to close my account. The manager of course came out to play the good guy, and talk me out of it. When he asked me why I was leaving, I tried to be polite and cite my recent marriage as the reason, but of course being Midworst Bank, they have to keep plowing away with questions. So, I finally, and bluntly, told him exactly why I was leaving, describing everything I mentioned above, and their severe lack of mobile banking. He had the gall to make a joke out of my being upset with getting $700 in twenties. Nice. I was told they would close my account and that was that. NOT. The never ending banking experience continues! I received a statement for my account which I thought closed! So I called and no one was able to help me, because they are so mismanaged and disorganized, nothing is achievable in one transaction or even one phone call. The girl asked me which manager helped me, "soandso or soandso?" I don't know/remember, this was a month ago, do you people not keep records? We finally figured out the manager who helped me but of course he was out on lunch so I had to wait an hour and a half before he called me back. You know what he said? This, being the manager of the bank I left after I told him how awful their banking structure is. He said HE FORGOT to close my account. After he made another joke that was inappropriate and ill-timed. How do you forget to do your job? Too many hour and a half lunches, I guess. And the most lol-worthy moment: "I see you have a credit of $0.78. Normally when we close accounts we ask you to pick up the funds but since this is a special exception, I can mail you a check for it instead." I'm sure he forgot to mail the check, as I have yet to receive anything, but at least I avoided wasting anymore time in that circus. read more

We had to come to this branch from another to use their coin sorting machine. When we got there one of the tellers Ryan greeted us and was very helpful in troubleshooting the coin machine. If we could have completed the rest of our business with him there wouldn't have been an issue, but we were sent to a 'Banker' by the name of Brendan who was the most unfriendly, rude and condescending person I have ever had a 30 second conversation with. We were hoping to open my son an account and his attitude towards us was of the utmost disrespect. I am grateful I don't have to deal with this branch again, but MidFirst as a whole should be ashamed for employing someone with such a foul attitude towards clients. read more

Brendan provided outstanding customer service - he was on top of everything, fun, and went above and beyond to expedite the process from loan initiation to title & tags. Terrible branch overall, the branch manager is unprofessional and disorganized. They don't have basic customer service. They are behind with the times with banking policies and procedures. Very disappointing given that this is a beautiful bank and great location. I hope they make some changes soon! read more

WORST bank ever I told the teller at the drive thru I wanted to cash my check instead of cashing it he deposited it when I told him that's not what I wanted he basically said well there's nothing I can do now I had to wait 24hrs for the check to hit the bank even though it was his fault in the first place. If I wanted my check in my account I would have said deposit it there are reasons I need the money today not in 24hrs. They really need to listen to their customers better read more
