We bought this fridge because our ice maker went out on our old one. We are not made of money, so this purchase was a "treat" for us and we splurged to get the nicer fridge in hopes to have it for many years. Since day one it's been nothing but issues. There have been 4 visits from Danmark appliance repair company who has replaced two different parts and now has no idea how to fix the issue and have stopped coming out. I have reached out several times to Manny without a response from him over the last 30 days and the last time we spoke on text he was going to call me in a couple of hours, that was a month ago. Instead, I get phone calls from his assistant, Wilton, who is very nice but there has been no resolve. I was told when I purchased that there was a factory warranty and that if there were any issues during that time it would be no issue to resolve it. Well, here we are... 3 months later with a fridge that has an ice maker issue, go figure... Buyer beware!! If I had to do it all over again, I would forgo the $500 savings that I got from buying with Manny and would purchase from Cosco where I know my issues would be resolved immediately. It's just ridiculous that spending $2000 on a brand spanking new refrigerator would result in a faulty ice maker and no fix in sight.

Miele dishwasher broke on New Year's Eve. I called Miele for service on Monday, January 2. Their…read moreearliest appointment was for Friday, January 13, and they recommended Mr. Appliance. Miele quoted $175 flat rate plus parts for repair; Mr. Appliance quoted $175 diagnostic fee plus parts. Service tech from Mr. Appliance came Tuesday, January 3, spent about 30 minutes diagnosing, said someone would contact me with a quote Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday morning. When no one called by Wednesday afternoon, I called them; they said they were just about to call me, and gave me an estimate of $390 for parts plus $325 for labor (including the $175 I had already paid). I told them to go ahead and they ordered the parts. They said they would phone me after the parts arrived in order to schedule the second service call. I believed that the parts would take no more than a day to arrive in Rockaway from Princeton, so when no one called by Thursday afternoon, I called them. They said that the parts had arrived and scheduled a second appointment for Friday. The same service tech showed up on Friday and completed the repair. Both times he was polite and apparently competent. He showed me what the problem was, and why he needed to replace the parts he did. Moreover, the dishwasher was up and running a week earlier than it would have been with Miele. That's the good news. The bad news was that they charged $150 more for labor than Miele would have charged, and they also charged me about $50 more for the part than Miele, because Miele does not charge for shipping parts that their technicians are going to install. Moreover, when he reconnected the dishwasher, he did not tighten the fittings enough, so the water inlet hose leaked. That was easy enough for me to tighten, but fortunately I had a big enough wrench to do so. The bottom line: I wound up paying about $200 more than Miele would have charged in order to have my dishwasher working a week (or more, if Miele had had to come back to install parts) earlier than if I had waited for Miele to service it. Moreover, they could have had it working on Wednesday instead of Friday if they had ordered the parts immediately and scheduled the second service call late in the day after the parts would presumably have arrived. So compared with Miele, they were faster--tnough not as fast as they might have been--and significantly more expensive. Moreover, they made a minor mistake (not checking for leaks) that could have been a nuisance if I didn't know what to do about it. Hence three stars, not two or four.

If the technician already knew during the first visit that a connector was needed to properly and permanently fix the problem, why wasn't I given the option to have it installed then as part of a complete repair? Instead, I paid $170 for a temporary fix, was told it had a warranty, and now I'm being asked to pay even more for a second visit.
