The bulb in my over the stove Whirlpool microwave stopped lighting. Do you know the oven will not work if the bulb is not lighting up? So, first checked Home Depot and Lowes for a 30 watt bulb as indicated on the oven as the replacement wattage. Neither store had one. Then went to Morris County Appliance. With the model #, the polite lady at the counter was able to access the Whirlpool manual online, and lo and behold, the specs call for a 40 watt bulb, which they had on the shelf. In and out in less than 5 minutes for under $6. bucks. Can't do much better than that! read more

Horrible, unprofessional and totally incompetent. Omar misdiagnosed twice and could not find what the problem was with water collecting under the deli tray in my GE Profile fridge. He said "I have no idea where that water is coming from". Then manager Julio calls me and tells me I am refunding you the diagnostic fee and "we're done!" Unbelievable. read more

I am very displeased with the lack of service and professionalism of this company. After making an appointment and leaving a credit card number in case I failed to keep the appointment, they failed to show up or call to re-schedule. They also would not answer my phone calls to confirm they were coming. What a poor way to do business. read more

Not being mechanically inclined I was prepared to live with a broken dishwasher door until the unit died. My son recommended Morris County Appliance Repair, and I couldn't be happier with the result. The repairman, Omar, said he's had 46 years of experience doing repairs, and the efficiency with which he worked convinced me that his statement was no exaggeration. He did a super job and I would have no hesitation to have him in my home again should the need arise. read more

Clothes washer stopped advancing cycles. Did a little research online and discovered it was most likely the timer. Called for an appointment for repair and told receptionist that it's most likely the timer (so repair person could arrive equipped with correct parts). Repair person called to let me know he was en route and proceeded to scold me for "telling the doctor what the diagnosis is". Wait, did you go to medical school? Found this to be incredibly rude and unprofessional. Long story short, repairman spent about 15 mins fiddling with my machine to tell me that my timer is indeed not working. Cost of replacement was outrageous so I declined the repair - the visit was $112. Long story short - I was charged $112 to be reprimanded over the phone and for having the repair man turn the cycle knob around slowly and tell me I was right about what was broken. read more

I was very impressed with their receptionist. I had an issue with an appliance and had never called before. She was polite and listened to what the issue was. She could have easily done a hard sell to charge me to get a technician out there, but she didnt. She recommended replacing it. The next time an appliance breaks, I will not hesitate to call them. read more

My GE washer is giving up the ghost. I went to MCAR in order to get a quote on repair. The knowledgeable and friendly counter guy told me up front that the repair would cost more than a new washer. He also recommended several brands and the sources to purchase them. He gave me said advice in spite of the fact that he could have easily talked me into $pending at MCAR. He spent 20 minutes answering my questions. I offered him a 10 spot for his time and valuable advice--he declined. Old school service is still alive at MCAR and I will not hesitate to patronize them in the future. Please do so yourself if the need arises. read more

Had to wait a week for an appointment. Oven broken. Today is the day. They called at 9 to say they would arrive after 1. Took off work. It is now almost 7 pm and they are still not here. Our Kitchenaid oven fan broke down less than 6 months into it, and strangely, we could only book 1 authorized service repair shop through the Kitchenaid site. After doing research, the reviews were terrible for the repair shop and I called Kitchenaid directly -- and they actually had other options available in my area, one of which was Morris County Appliance Repair. I have to say that I had a really good experience with them -- they were incredible friendly and professional on the phone, and always called ahead to let us know the window of time for service (we had to reschedule a few times) and our service technician was fast and fixed our fan. As far as a cost, we're within 12 months of ownership, so the replacement fan and service did not cost us anything. read more

All the information is taken, very well organized with excellent communication skills. And that's only the beginning. The service men are reliable, very knowledgeable, I had Keith install my oven and repair my dryer. He was on time, upbeat and meticulous in detail. He is the best. Ask for Keith. I had someone come in to see what was wrong with my oven and he told me the heating element and that was all, I then kept explaining that it must be more and showed him how the buttons didn't shut off, etc. ~ Oh, then it's the thermostat! Well, good thing, because I have no idea about ovens and I seemed to know more then him. Then it took over two months to get the parts in on my oven and then it cost me over $600 to get it fixed. I asked about their pricing scale and they didn't have one, they told me it all depended on the job and how long it took, well maybe they were including ordering time, because that was the only thing that took a long time, guy was in and out in a hour, didn't take away old parts or even the bag it came in and didn't sweep up after he was done and he washed his hands in my kitchen sink! I found screws on the floor and all kinds of cut things that one of my children could have easily picked up. He didn't put on any booties when he came in and out and in and out and got dirt all over my floors. The person that answers the phone talks to you on speaker and is rude. I called a few times to see what was going on with my parts and he kept saying (speaker phone guy) that is is coming in next week, next week. Then they called me at 8:30am one morning telling me the guy is on his way ~ great notice, I had to call in to work to wait for this. I would not recommend this place at all!! Horrible! read more

Will NEVER use them again! Less than a year ago I called to have them check out my front loader washing machine since it was not properly spinning out the clothes and had a slight leak. They said the boot gasket had to be replaced and had to order it. The whole job cost over $450.00. Over the last month or so I again noticed a slight leak. Today the slight leak turned into a huge leak and I called to see if they warranted their work. The man who answered the phone would not immediately answer my question regarding their policy on warranties. I complained that the leak that was supposedly repaired less than a year ago started up again, and that I felt their work should be warranted. He rudely told me to relax! I continued to push and he said they could probably replace the part for free if they found it to be defective, but would still charge for a service call and labor. RIP OFF! The cost for that portion of the job for the last repair was over $230.00 and the actual part was $197.00. I told him to forgot it and hung up. Sad to say customer service for this company does not exist. We own a window company and jump through hoops to keep our customers happy. Avoid this company at all costs for any type of appliance repair. Although I didn't actually have a repair done through this business, I had a rude encounter with the person answering the phone. Frigidaire referred me to this business to repair my refrigerator if I had a service contract. When I called the person and asked me which company the service contract was with. I didn't know. He recites the different service contract companies, which are actually the places it was purchased, which he could have said earlier in the conversation. Then he tells me "You should know this information." Thankfully when I called PC Richard in Whippany, the person was extremely competent and polite. read more

We've had continuous problems with our used Kitchen Aid refrigerator since moving into our new home. Thank goodness for Morris County Appliance! They've come out numerous times and gone above and beyond with the repair work. The technicians are very knowledgeable and explain everything thoroughly. I first came to use Morris County Appliance because that is who my extended warranty company had assigned to my repair, but now my appliances are 8 years old and no longer on warranty and all seem to be breaking at the same time. I called them to come out and look at my refrigerator which just started freezing items and my gas range and double wall oven. They sent me julio the same repairman who had come out for the warranty company. The refrigerator I was told was an easy fix that it had been knocked out of it's program and just needed to be re-programmed. For my ovens he told my husband that they should work fine that he remembered fixing them (he should remember fixing them because it took 3 visits and replacing the same part multiple times) but my husband told him he doesn't believe that they come up to the right temperature. After testing the temperature he confirmed that it was off by 100 degrees and needed parts. He gave my husband an estimate on the range which my husband agreed to but said he was going to go back to the office and see what he could do for the double wall oven since he had fixed the same exact thing previously. I got a follow up call from the office stating that the previous repair was done over a year ago and therefore they couldn't do anything. The repair with parts and labor would be $1500 but they suggested that I call the manufacturer and complain to them and that they've had the manufacturer agree to ship the new parts for free and then I would only have to pay their labor cost. I did that and that is exactly what happened so I'm thankful to them for their suggestion and saving me the cost of the parts. In the meantime my refrigerator started freezing again, so I would turn off the breaker and turn it back on to try and reset it back to factory default programming. This worked for a few times then it started to beep with warm temperature warnings and I had to empty my entire refrigerator on a Sunday morning. When I called them on Monday morning to ask for Julio to come back they said he wasn't avail for a week. I explained that he was just out and had supposedly fixed it and considering it was a re-visit could they get him here any faster. They told me he was completely booked but they would put me on the standby list. He never did get to me on standby and came a week later. This is why I took away one star- otherwise I would have given them 5 stars. He once again reprogrammed the refrigerator and told me it had been knocked out of it's program again. I said well something has to be doing that, does it need a new mother board or something. He was very nice and told me he doesn't want to make me have to spend the money for the part if it doesn't need it and if it needed it the error code should come up for that. I said okay but if this doesn't work a second time I can't be waiting a week for you to get back to me and he told me he would tell the office if I called to put me in his schedule right away. Julio has been very nice and when coming to the house to look at multiple appliance he only charges me one service fee which I think is how it should be but when scheduling the office tells that there will be a service fee for each appliance. I also don't like the office policy of charging your credit card without informing you. When they called to give me an estimate and I said okay order the parts they charged my credit card without letting me know. At the time of the phone call they should have said okay we are going to charge your credit card "X" amount. I understand that they want a deposit from you before ordering the parts but they should give you the courtesy of informing what that amount is going to be. read more

Very poor service. I called the guy to fix my dishwasher and they haven't been able to fix it in 4 visits. They don't give time slots for appointments and waste your entire day.The guy told me "We work per our convenience and not yours". I would never recommend them to anyone unless you want to waste your time and money. read more

My former repair guy retired so had to find a new one fast since our ice maker decided to kick on the hottest day of the year!! Julio came over this morning and I can't say enough about how informative and pleasant he was. He knew the moment he looked at the ice maker what was wrong, called it into the office, assured me new part will be in this week, he will return and install, all in time for ice by this weekend!! Very pleasant place to schedule a repair, got a call first thing this morning letting me know when to expect repair man, he was here when he was promised. I was nervous about finding someone decent for my appliance repairs and now it looks like I found a great place!! Call them, they were great. read more
