I called him Tuesday evening…read moreto inquire about shipping our car, we finalized the deal Wednesday midday and our car was picked up by 4pm on Thursday. Full story: We had engaged another broker to transport our car from Boston to California and the other broker pulled a bait and switch tripling the originally quoted price. Needless to say we cancelled our order with that broker leaving us in a pinch. When I called Bobby, I was very skeptical of auto shippers because of the other broker. He was very patient with me, explaining everything and assuring us he would deliver on his promises. I had read all the great reviews on Yelp so I decided to go for it. Within an hour he had located a driver and had the driver's dispatch call me to coordinate a pick-up time and what we could expect upon delivery. When the truck arrived to pick-up our car, the driver was very professional and documented the condition of the car while keeping me informed of everything he was doing. When he finished, I was shown everything he had noted and was provided an electronic copy to my email. Our car was delivered right to our door and in excellent condition. I will never go with anyone else when shipping a car, Bobby and Van 3 Auto Transport are top notch.

However, we scheduled my car to be picked up on May 11/12, but it was actually picked up on May 18. Arrival was estimated to be 5-7 business days & my car was delivered on May 27. Since Van3 don't provide tracking, we put an airtag in the car and my car was sitting around Compton for a few days!! We didn't receive updates (usually a day after) unless we texted or called/left voicemail first. Turns out, it was national inspection week so truck drivers were being stopped or didn't want to accept transport. Being in the business for years, I would've expected professionals to be aware of that time of year.

I agreed to this arrangement. I was also told that paying the balance in cash would qualify me for a discount. However, as soon as I provided my credit card information, communication completely stopped. Instead of charging only the agreed deposit, Montway charged my credit card for more than the full agreed amount without my authorization. As a result, my credit card exceeded its limit. Since then, I have repeatedly tried to contact Montway by phone and email, but I have received no meaningful response. The only emails I continue to receive are automated messages demanding that I approve my credit card payment. To be fair, the carrier that Montway assigned was professional, courteous, and did an excellent job transporting my vehicle. They are not responsible for this issue. My complaint is entirely about Montway's billing practices and customer service. It is also concerning that the transportation proceeded normally while the payment dispute remained completely unresolved. At this point, I genuinely don't know how to resolve the situation. I expected clear communication and honest billing, but instead I was left with an overcharged credit card and no way to get answers. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Montway.

Overall they had the best rates and don't charge extra for the truck or the travel fee (which is actually a fee for the time it takes a moving company to get to your place and then back home after the job is done). They were a bit slow to respond at first, but were very helpful in helping us prep for the move to reduce cost (making sure all is packed, having boxes of similar size stacked together because that's how they move them - by size and not by room designation). And they hustled. The moved ended up taking longer than we anticipated (lots of stairs!) but they ended up charging us less than we thought - they stopped by for lunch on the way to the new place and didn't charge us for that time. I don't believe they're insured, so not sure if I would recommend them if you have a lot of stuff. But they took good care of our IKEA stuff and I will use them again next time we move.

I told him that I did not even know the car had been found until minutes before & said I wanted to come after work, around 5:30, to see my car. The guy said they close at five so I asked them if my car waa drive-able or damaged. He said he did not know so I asked if someone could go & look at it. Again he said no because he was the only one there. I asked him why I wasn't notified by anyone & he said all they do is tow cars when state police call them for a tow job. (I am waiting for a call back from an Illinois State police commander.) I asked, "Even when you know it's stolen?" so I went the following day & saw it would have to 8be towed. Fast forward 3 days: Pattersons called me at work to say tow truck had come to pick up my car & take it to my repair shop. When I asked how much the bill was, I was told over $900.!! When I asked for a breakdown of the charges & a copy of the bill to be texted to me, he told me to get the info from Allstate since they were the ones paying for it. I am sorry Allstate paid such an outrageous charge but glad I had full coverage but what about the people who only have collision or liability? How would that have hurt them? MY ADVICE TO YOU: AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!
