If you're a movie buff or Kevin Costner fan or just need to waste some time, stop in to the Midnight Star casino. It's packed full of owner Kevin Costner memorabilia. I didn't eat or gamble here, so I can't attest to that, but it's a neat little place to see. I asked one of the women working there if she had met Costner yet, but she said he hadn't been around for several years. His parents live in Rapid City and visit often.

The RIBEYE WAS DELISH! Service was great! Wine list was lacking but the food made up for it. Definitely recommend.

Mediocre food priced too high. Average service, nothing special on the menu. Probably cool if you are a huge Kevin Costner fan.

Would be a 3-star restaurant without the Kevin Costner memorabilia -- it's really just a typical boring menu with burgers, wings, etc.

The surrounding area was green, peaceful, and honestly breathtaking. Once inside, the reception area was just as impressive, with very friendly and welcoming people who immediately made us feel at home. The lobby had that warm, cozy, inviting feel that makes you want to slow down and enjoy the place instead of simply treating it as somewhere to sleep. Our room was very comfortable, and we had a beautiful view of the hills toward the rear of the hotel. The Lodge is also a casino, although we didn't really participate in any gaming. We were much more interested in enjoying the hotel itself, the dining area, and all of the amenities, which were absolutely wonderful. One of our favorite surprises was the trolley. It regularly stopped at the hotel and took us right into historic Deadwood, dropping us off at various sites around town. It made sightseeing incredibly easy and meant we could leave the car behind and simply enjoy ourselves. Just a marvelous place from beginning to end. Beautiful setting, comfortable rooms, welcoming people, great amenities, and a wonderfully convenient location for exploring Deadwood. Definitely a five-star stay.

My friend liked her wedge salad with green apples and pecans, but wished she had asked for lighter dressing. We had great service! The shower in our room was the best so far on our trip! Once inside, though, we really liked the atmosphere. It had that comfortable, lively sports-bar feel without seeming overly loud or chaotic. We were there during a busy holiday weekend, so I was expecting a long wait. Surprisingly, it wasn't bad at all, which was especially appreciated because by that point we were absolutely famished. We ordered a sirloin and a T-bone, both with shrimp on the side. The steaks were nicely seasoned and had plenty of flavor. Were they the most memorable steaks we've ever had? Probably not. But hunger can be a wonderful seasoning all by itself, and on this particular evening they tasted pretty darn good. Then came dessert. Chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. Simple, classic, and exactly what we wanted. After a long day and a hearty dinner, that combination really hit the spot and was a perfect way to finish the meal. Oggie's turned out to be a great place to settle in, have a good meal, and relax without ever having to leave the hotel. Good atmosphere, reasonable wait even on a busy weekend, satisfying food, and a dessert that sent us away happy. A very solid four-star experience.

They even have a full bar! This is a sports bar, and they have the cool option to have a half portion of an appetizer instead of fries for a $3 upcharge. My husband was delighted to be able to have fried mushrooms as his side. The kids and husband had milkshakes, and they were made quickly, and everyone loved them. They have a bunch of local beers. I enjoyed my Rapid City made beer and enjoyed a sip of my husband's Spearfish beer. I had a burger, which was perfect. The fries were good. I also had some of my daughter's hot wings. They were meaty and spicy. I loved them, although I wish they had come with celery sticks. Not a big deal, though. The restaurant is decorated with old slot machines, which were fun for the kids to look at while we waited for our food.

After a long day of traveling, we called to place a takeout order about 30 minutes before closing. The employee who took our order, a woman in a green shirt, listened while my sister and I ordered, then let out a loud, frustrated sigh and said, "Ugh... is that it then?" Her tone made it very clear that our order was an inconvenience. When I arrived to pick up and pay, I stood at the counter much longer than I should have, and it became obvious I was being ignored. The woman in the green shirt who had taken our order made eye contact with me multiple times but continued to act as if I wasn't standing there. There were three employees behind the counter, yet none of them acknowledged me. The only person who finally came over to help was a kind woman who had been sweeping on the other side of the restaurant. She stopped what she was doing because no one else would. I have 13 years of waitressing experience, so I completely understand how frustrating last-minute orders before closing can be. However, that's never an excuse to treat paying customers with disrespect. We called before closing, were polite throughout the interaction, and simply expected basic customer service. If taking an order 30 minutes before closing and acknowledging a customer at the counter is too much to ask, then maybe customer service isn't the right fit. Being busy is understandable. Being rude and pretending customers don't exist isn't. Needless to say, we won't be back.

The other waitress and waiters had smiles and polite, seemed to be anyway. I wanted to let someone know about the first time interaction I've ever had with your restaurant. It's hailing out, so I called to see about placing an order, I have no problem on waiting. I called and was greeted with, No, I'm not doing a to go order, as he's hanging up on me. You could hear, to dam busy for a to go order. So, I walked over, only to see whole lot of empty chairs. I sat down at the bar, he didn't know who I was, no possible way he knew who I was. But was thrown a menu. Within a two minutes of sitting down, he was able to take my order. But, I began to place the order of a full rack please?! (Heard so much about them ribs.) I was immediately greeted with "yeah what sides." Sorry, didn't realize there was sides that came with it in my head. I asked "oh sorry, where are the sides". Where he then tells me " maybe read here." Wow, was my response where he grabbed my menu, beyond shocked at this point. I stood up and began to walk away. I got up and I asked him, are you the one that answered the phone?! He said "yup, and please don't come back." As two other guests are sitting there had their dinner interrupted by this unfortunate incident, let me know and stated, "yeah he's a dick". This is how yall do business?! I wouldn't like to think so. I'm not here for a vacation but, for work. However, a numerous amount of people are. He made it very clear on how any one attempting to order food is treated at your facility. I understand, people have bad days but, that was truly uncalled for. The disrespect for attempting to order food at a restaurant. Wasn't asking for anything for free, definitely paying. I know this may fall on deaf ears but, I did ask for a manager below. The lady, a supervisor only for the bottom part, very kind, heard the whole thing and asked me to please write this out on a piece of paper. Thank you ma'am, hopefully this will reach someone.
