Better than a "parking lot" rv park, has trees between partial hookup sites, not the full hookup, lots of trees around tent sites. No wifi (despite what site says). Dump site smell comes through occasionally. NO ONE manned the office the whole time we were there (hence online reservations and no one answers the phone). They put a paper in the office window with our spot assignment. Someone did stop by for a minute to put up the paper, said they hadn't been there in 2 weeks. They were flexible with site assignments. This campground is in a great location, but that's about the only thing it currently has going for it. Currently, it's severely lacking in oversight and upkeep. Some specific concerns: 1. Drainage improvements/maintenance, even some woodchips would reduce or prevent ponding in designated campsites when it's raining and reduce dust blowing around when it's not. No one wants to camp in a pond. 2. Lots of thru traffic in front of campsites, day & night. A few loud, raucous campers allowed to party all night prevented us from getting a good night's sleep. A campground host would be a great addition here! 3. There is a very pervasive sewer smell throughout the campground. It smells like the septic is failing and has overflowed into the ground nearby. When I called campground ownership to ask, I was told they'd look into it tomorrow, possibly contact the landlord. 4. Several sites appear to have been cut/halved to pack in more campers and it's now (sadly) an extremely tight stay in an area renowned for vast expenses of wilderness. We really hope the new owners improve this campground! A few small changes could make this a great place to stay. read more

I'd give no stars if I was able. I do NOT expect management to care so I post this review as a WARNING to others. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!! We came upon this gas station at 10pm last night. Being much later to our bodies, we decided to stop. We parked in an area that has NO signs of being a campground other than a picnic table. The gas station building was closed. There is ZERO after hours information and signs posted showing campground sites are down the drive from the front area. Another RVer was parked in the front area and stated everything was closed till May 1. He's been here a few days and just runs his generator. We were rudely informed this morning that this is a paid site and told to immediately go pay at the office. We were charged $31.00 for a DRY CAMPING site. We ran our generator all night for heat. Used NO electricity. NO water. NO sewer. There is no shower house to even use and we were not even parked in their designated campground. I could perhaps have accepted paying something (definitely not $31!!!!) if they were not completely rude and condescending when I came in and paid. On top of that - being 11:05am they tried to charge me for two nights, claiming that we were past check out which AGAIN is stated NOWHERE. I refused, the man charged me for one night, while another claimed he was going to call police if we didn't immediately leave. I could have left without paying in the first place since we used NOTHING... but we chose to do the right thing and being treated rudely for doing that despite there being NO WAY of knowing they charge you full price to use nothing - there is just NO way I can ever recommend this place to anyone. Kindness would have gone SO much further and would have avoided this negative review. I hope the manager, who had conveniently just left I was told, sees this and gives the way business is done here some thought. At the VERY least put out some signs and night payment information. Again, judging by the other negative reviews I doubt management cares about anything other than robbing hard working people of their money and providing ZERO services. I'm not hating ok on them. The sites were all flooded water everywhere. Yes, there a few broken down car and trucks in the back but whatever. They offer power and water on the site. The grounds have free wifi which was a great treat. I haven't got to Net Flix and chill for awhile. Another great perk. The RV spot are all pull through so you don't have to back your bus up. They also sell fuel and have a small store. They are very close to the 4th brewing company which has great food! The bad and I mean bad part was the road. They have some monster holes that we filled with water. One was so deep and wide that (not kidding) you could bury a bear in it! Sites were all flooded so I felt bad for those in tents. The other issue, I called and asked if they had open spots and was told yeah, maybe go check online. That's pretty hard it remote Alaska when I'm online getting 1 bar of 3G not even 4G service. Most of the it's 1x service or just nothing at all. The other issue I didn't care for was how close all the spots are to each other. Bottom line, I would stay here again. read more

Wow, lots of hate for this place, surprising! If you're a pampered, prissy, RV jockey; maybe this place isn't for you. If you're just looking for a place to put your tent down that is close to the Denali NP entrance and RIGHT NEXT TO one of the best breweries in Alaska, (insert "stumbling distance" comment here) then this is the only place that will do! Seriously. I do a lot of ad-hoc planning (read: I don't plan) and I love that I can just roll into this place and grab a spot at a moment's notice. Hahaha!!! Campground? Nope. Dirty rundown pit? Yep. I can honestly say that this was the absolute worst place I have ever stayed the night. The restrooms were filthy. Like disgusting. Hair trimmings and food scrap in the sinks, doors with latches that didn't work, no paper towels in the dispenser. In the morning, they were in the same condition indicating that the owners/staff did nothing. I could understand if this place was ~actually~ in the middle of nowhere but there is a hardware store literally across the street. Thankfully the smoke from the overpriced firewood helped cover the sewer stench from the RV dump site located within the "campground". I could list other reasons to avoid this place but I'm sure the other reviews will fill in the gaps. Do not stay here. A message to the owners. Please improve your business or it will fail. read more

I will say we stayed here right after Memorial Day during COVID. Maybe this can explain why the bathrooms at the campground were locked and the trash was overflowing to the point ravens pulled out their meals and literally scattered trash everywhere!! It was sad and disgusting. It stayed like that for 3 days until the day we were leaving. I'm not sure anyone noticed. If you were up for walking up and down a steep hill you were rewarded with clean & well maintained bathrooms, showers and laundry machines. By the last two days of our stay, we had the whole campground to ourselves which made it extremely nice for our family minus the seasonal worker who was staying in their travel trailer. read more

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!! Will never recommend and spread not to waste your money on this place! We arrived and were told what spot to go to. Once we plugged in we noticed it kept blowing a fuse. We went to head back up to find out what was happening. The check in person had magically left for the what appeared to be the weekend. So we had to keep a close eye all weekend and constantly reset. Yes we called but kept getting sent to voice-mail. Come night 2 & 3 a group by the cabins were out from midnight- 4am! They were yelling/screaming! Again called and called and called they were never asked by campground to settle down! If the campground is not going to stop this from happening do not include in reservation confirmation "Quiet hours are 11pm-7am and are strictly enforced." My small children kept waking up all night and it was also driving my dog insane! Terrible management who refused to show up and provide any firm of customer service. read more

Nice convenience store, horrible RV park. Rutted full service sites, no care or maintenance at all. Looks like a junkyard more than a RV park. Lied to me when I made the reservation months ago. And then lied to me when I asked about availability to change sites. I told them I didn't even care about full hookups, I would dry camp and eat the difference. I was told camp was full. At least fifteen to eighteen sites free at 11pm. Same fifteen to eighteen still there when we pulled out at 7am the next morning. Didn't even stay the third night. Worst camping experience I've had. We had a hard time finding the place and the staff were not very helpful. The tent spots on their website look attractive but they pack tents in to be only 15-20 feet apart. Several RV spots are right next to the dump station which reeks. Hot showers though, for the low price of $5 if you're lucky enough to get one that works. 1 out of 3 in the women's restroom worked. read more

Overall good place. I saw some older bad reviews, and expected the worst from the showers and restrooms -- however, with the new management things look clean and decent. The bottom restrooms are being fixed and hence closed. So it is a bit inconvenient to walk up the stairs for them, for the ones that were working. However, the showers are clean and comparable to other campgrounds. The showers are $5 for use. The campground had plenty of space (tent-side) and parking is ample. The office/gas station has bbq and is convenient. My only issue was some other campers were kinda loud one of the nights, but not a big deal. They have a laundry room, which I didn't use. One of the first campers this season in a 26 foot class C. Might not had stayed here had I read the reviews of last year. This is a new season for new owners. Seem very friendly, helpful, and the setting is nice. Best part is full hookups, electric, water or dry camping minutes from Denali Park. Good wifi at no additional cost. Give the new owners a chance this year. We enjoyed our stay with no complaints. read more

We were really disappointed. The pictures are deceiving. Our view is of someone's apartment. If you aren't willing to hike up a hill or move you camper when you want to shower, don't stay here. The plus side is NO ONE IS HERE. It is very quiet. read more

Chose this due to its location. All gravel uneven sites. Water line broke so no water. Was advised by a construction worker NOT to drink any of the water. Lots of scrap trash laying around. Did not make it on my list of super good RV places. The pictures are quite accurate. read more

"Convenience store" is an understatement for this place. This is a 24-hour market (with sandwich counter) / gas station / laundromat all rolled into one! There's even a place for haircuts next door. It's an oasis in the wilderness. read more

Just about 8 miles north of the Denali Natl Park entrance is a large gas station (currently Tesoro). To the left is a small hut for checking in. If you get in late, you can just grab a spot and pay in the morning, the driveway down is just around the back. Laid back atmosphere, rustic looking sites with the majority having electricity and water. Fire pits and tables are sporadic. There is also a dump station. Checked into this dump at 1:30 pm. After checking out the filthy showers,dirty laundry room and disgusting bathrooms, we drove over pothole city back up to the office at 1:45pm. The girl in the office was nice enough to give us a refund.! Website says that new owners are making changes but I can't imagine how bad this place was before because at best it is still a Pig Sty!! Pros: near the entrance to Denali NP but not so close that it it heavily swamped with people, free wifi that worked at our tent site, tent site with lots of trees and flat ground, short walk to a convenience store/market and the 49th State Brewing Company's pub, grass was maintained and a worker was weed wacking while we were there to keep grounds neat Cons: prices are deceiving-the quoted tent price($10) is for one person and another person cost another $5, the website says they have showers but it doesn't say they cost $4.50 per shower (ouch!), the bathroom, laundry room and stairs leading to them were a bit run down, women's bathroom lacked toilet paper for about 12 hours(glad I had my own), tent sites next to main driveway which was noisy at time due to people driving dirt bikes around, not a lot of privacy/space between sites read more

Absolutely appalling! No sign on hiway even saying it's here-maybe they're ashamed! Junky tentsites, broken tables, powder dirt ground full of broken glass. Have to check in at the store-only toilets are up the hill at store-about 2 blocks if at end of grounds. Person checking us in was rude-couldn't really care less if we were helped or not! Expensive, unhelpful help, dirty, nasty showers, LOUD bad music from next door, crowded, mud holes in RV sites, I could go on and on . . . We showed up after a long long day in Denali and were greeted by two young employees, neither of which had English as a first language, normally not a problem if friendly and helpful, they were neither. Paid $4.75 per shower and once we find the showers were horrified at the condition. One of three was out of order, other two were filthy and painted black (I suspect to cover the fact they were seldom cleaned). Impossible to regulate temp in one, it vacillated between scalding and freezing. The campsite had a huge mud hole so we had to use more than a few leveling blocks. The music was blaring from the bar next door because the band was outdoors. The songs they were playing were classic rock, so I hoped the execution would be good so we could enjoy it, however, disappointment there also. They were not talented, just loud. When the wind picked up , I had hoped they would drown out the band, unfortunately, they only got louder. Sometime after 1 am they finally stopped. The night cost $48 plus the showers and overall the place was unkept and dirty, probably one of the worst I've ever seen. read more

Stayed July 2018. More potholes than road including in sites. Gave them a shot even tho previous reviews were bad. New owners. Our site had water filled potholes by door and landing gear. Asked to change was told its Alaska and it rains. Can't control that. Couldn't move, were full, even tho no one three sites either side. Jinks on firepits, junk laying on sites, no cap on sewer connections so smells. Grass as high as some doors on rigs. Shower and laundry up 40 Ft hill. Person checking us in VERY rude. Left after two nights. Harly bikers partied until 4:30 am. Yes 4:30 am. Drinking, yelling, fireworks, reving engines. Manager said it wasn't to bad. Gave new owners a chance, hope you don't. Why, oh why didn't I check Yelp before booking a tent camp site? Lesson learned. When I checked in at the store the girl couldn't find a map and just told me the site number assigned to me. I drove down, found the site and immediately regretted my decision. The tent sites, while numbered, are not clearly defined. It's one strip of land with two rows of sites. No privacy whatsoever. It's like sharing a site with other people. Very noisy. The site assigned to me was basically a mud puddle with a fire pit filled with cigarette butts and no picnic table. I went back and requested a different site and was told to go back down, pick one out, then go back and tell her. There isn't any parking at the tent sites, you basically have to park along the driveway and hope you don't get hit by a passing camper or RV. The bathrooms next to the campground are marked for employees only so you have to walk all the way up the stairs to the store. The only thing good about this campground is the brewery next door, thus the two stars. read more

Two stars at best, rutted and pot holed access roads, uneven sites, no water availability and we got conflicting information on the water quality. One person said DON'T DRINK THE WATER!! and another said if we had a water connection that worked, most didn't, the water was good. The place has not had much maintenance and the prices for showers was outrageous, $9.00 for 7 minutes. I would not recommend this park to anyone with a large RV or anyone staying more than 1 night. the advertisement for this RV Park looked good so we chose it due to the location. great brewery and restaurant next door and shuttle service to things we were going to do. Unfortunately the place is a dump. Water didn't work at our site, only one shower was working and toilets were out of order. No firewood and there was junk all over the place. Long term construction workers had empty boxes and bottles strewn all over their campsite and they left a barking German Shepherd tied to their trailer all day. read more

Run, don't walk away from this campground. Mosquitoes are unbelievable. Piles of large dog poop and trash strewn about one long term site. Mgmt not enforcing standards. Trees need branches removed and in some cases the whole tree needs to be removed for larger rigs. Flushing water at dump station not working. Water spigots at site but whole row not working. Little to no maintenance. Understand bought out in Apr 2015 and new owners really do no want campground part of the deal. read more
