Denali Transportation Services This company was recommended…read moreto me by a Denali hotel front desk agent. Initially I called and left a message and my call was returned quickly. I was quoted a price that was acceptable to me. This area doesn't have taxi or Uber options that I was aware of so I used this companies services. I was texted a weblink to pay for the ride as cash was not accepted. The link was easy to use I just entered my credit card information. The driver called me when he arrived at my hotel so that I didn't have to stand outside in the rain to wait for him. He was a safe driver that got me to my destination in a timely manner. I'd definitely recommend this company.

I received a call the night before and was told that our group would be picked up in front of Denali Cabins at 7:40 am. Our group of 6 was waiting in front of the cabins at 7:30 waiting. I missed a call from the main number at 7:46 am. When I returned the number at 7:48, I was told that the driver had come by to pick us up and no one was out there so he left. I was talking with Hunter. He apologized and said he would come and pick us up because his driver had already moved on. Thirty minutes later Hunter pulled up in his van, surprised that there were 6 of us and explained that we would not all fit in one Jeep. Well, I had booked 2 jeeps, when the date was changed, they also changed the prepaid reservation to 1 jeep. Hunter reviewed my account realized that I was correct. They had two jeeps available. We were sent on some backroads with pretty scenery with very little direction, but at least we were on our own. We had agreed with Hunter that instead of us getting a ride back to the cabins where we stayed (a 15 min drive) that they would take us straight to the train station to save time. Once we were ready to go back to the train station we called and waited for over an hour. I called the main number again and spoke with Hunter. He said "Hmm I don't know where my driver is, I thought he had already picked you up. I will come get you". Once again, Hunter came to get us. There is a temporary building where we dropped off the car with no one inside. So, either his driver lied twice, or Hunter was covering for him. The cars themselves were so dirty that Hunter used a squeegee to try to clean the windows. The back-up cameras could not be used because of the dirt. I would not recommend this company for anything.

Best part and highlight of the tour. 5 mins. 2- dog sledding demo + wonderful facts sharing and storytelling about the dogs, their puppies, their day to day activities and seasonal activities. Under 1 min. 4- Seminar by Jeff King sharing stories of his life as a musher and about the races with a 2 min video of Jeff and team on the Iditarod trail. Great orator. 45 mins. 5- Photo purchase at $10 per photo, $5 for reprints. Facility is good and well maintained. All in all good tour, definitely recommend.

This was a top highlight during our three week stay in Alaska! My son and I really enjoyed meeting…read morethe dogs and learning more about the psychology and science behind the sport of mushing. We had no idea the level of commitment, training, and dedication it takes to lead a dog sledding team, especially in the famed thousand-mile treks of the Iditarod and Yukon Quest races. Jeff King (the "winningest musher in the world"), and his daughter, Tessa, were engaging and captivated our attention the entire time. This is a must-do when visiting Denali (even if you visit the Denali sled dog kennels--it's quite a different experience as Denali's dogs are primarily used for education and transportation during the winter months, while Jeff's dogs are true athletes and bred for speed). Afterwards, buy Jeff's autobiography so you can delve deeper into his fascinating life (near-death experiences in sub-zero temperatures and run-ins with wolves and caribou!).

This was by far the most unique tour we had in a while. We took the 5:00 PM tour, and our driver,…read moreJoel Miner, was none other than the owner himself. There are 5 Sherp vehicles and we felt very fortunate and honor to have him as our guide. We are a family of four, including two teenagers, and he made the experience enjoyable for all of us. He even used a drone to scout the area for wildlife. As a retired state trooper who participated in rescue missions, he immediately made us feel safe and comfortable. He was fun, knowledgeable, and shared many personal stories that kept our entire family entertained throughout the tour. Toward the end of the trip, he spotted a young moose in a nearby field, which was the perfect cherry on top of an already amazing experience. One of the best parts was receiving a souvenir video package that included drone footage from our tour. It was such a thoughtful touch and a wonderful keepsake. Highly recommended! We had a fantastic experience, and it was well worth the money.

To be clear, there's never a guarantee of seeing animals in the wild, Joel was very clear on this point, but Joel, Tim, and Mark did everything to increase our chances and they delivered! Between two simultaneous Sherp vehicles and multiple drones scouting ahead for wildlife, we saw 2 adult moose and a cub. We also saw a snowshoe hare. We also saw beautiful mountain ranges from a perspective you won't see from the roadway, even if you visit Denali National Park. We got to ride over frozen rivers and lakes and see a historic WW2 era cabin and hear the unique history of it, as well as Alaska in general. The guides went out of their way to make the trip fun, safe, and informative. In the end, the tour was expensive, but a fantastic value for what you get. I highly recommend it for anyone visiting the area.
