When I went back for the procedure after a quick X-ray of my teeth and explanation of the process they said it would take 5 to 10 minutes so I went without the anesthesia. They put the numbing in my mouth which stung for just a moment but went away right after. Dr. Jason Jenny they said his name was came in they told me to open up. I felt a little bit of pressure but no pain at all and BOOM! My wisdom tooth was out in 5 seconds before I even noticed. I saw them pull out a white thing out of the corner of my eye. I was like, "Is that my tooth?" But before my brain could finish that sentence he quickly discards the tooth and drops the tool on the table like a mike drop and jokingly says "sorry that took so long".

Bay City Rollers anyone? Turns out he was a DJ years back. How many people are smiling after this procedure? I was. His staff are as cool as he is.

I was first told I needed a cleaning, then a gingivitis protocol (3 appointments) - though an outside dentist confirmed I never had gingivitis. Then I was told they couldn't use composite, so I'd need a crown. Then I was told before I could get crowns, I needed to straighten a SINGLE UNRELATED bottom tooth with motto liners - another $3,000. Then I was told I should whiten my teeth before crowns - another $500. THEN I was told I should get two crowns instead of one so my front teeth match - another $4,500. I was very explicit about wanting crowns 1 mm longer than my original front teeth (time had eroded their height significantly). My dentist told me to 'be picky' with the crowns. When they showed me my crowns, they were even smaller than my original teeth. I again asked for them to be made slightly longer, but my dentist declined/said he couldn't do that. AFTER placing the crowns, I was informed that I should not bite crunchy things (apples, carrots) with my front teeth - ever. I wish I would've known that before I got them. So, after a year and over $8,000, I have crowned front teeth that look smaller and much worse than the teeth I originally wanted fixed.

My son had an abscess and was admitted to Children's Hospital over the weekend. After discharge, we were set to have surgery on Monday with another OMS clinic, but they were out-of-network. Wanting to stay in-network, I called Dakota Dental, explained the situation in detail, and scheduled an appointment for the next day. I also provided all necessary paperwork, including the referral from Children's and CT scans. When we arrived, it became clear that they hadn't reviewed a single document. Worse, they refused to use the CT scans we provided and insisted on taking X-rays before we even saw the doctor. I declined, saying we'd like to see the doctor first. The doctor then came in and informed me that we actually needed to go back to the dentist for another referral before they could do surgery. So let me get this straight--you scheduled an appointment knowing our situation, ignored the referral we provided, refused existing scans, tried to push unnecessary X-rays, and then told us we needed to leave and come back with yet another referral? That's either complete dysfunction or a blatant attempt to rack up extra charges. Either way, we walked out. Save yourself the headache--find a different OMS. This office is unorganized at best and predatory at worst.
