came five minutes early for my initial appointment, paperwork already filled out. because of such,…read morei was quickly called within 2/3 minute after sitting down, to my impression. two women called me back, never introducing themselves, their positions, and what we were doing. it seemed that the one lady doing most of the interacting/leading (navy scrubs, cap, and mask on - we'll call them Blue) was training and being shadowed by the other lady (forest green scrubs, no other equipment on - we'll call them Green). Blue failed to communicate what room we were headed to, so i stepped to the side to let her lead, where she snapped at "we're going this way!" since i had a bunch of jewelry on, i was annoyingly told to take it off (not asked nor requested). at a point i had to ask, "so what exactly are we doing?" since no one was taking me through the process and i refuse to be pulled along a process without knowing what in the hell is happening - i'm a capricorn after all... this is the part where i had to walk out. once again, being "un-led" to the x-ray room, Blue was extremely rough at handling my face and mouth when setting my head up for the x rays. from grabbing all over my lips and chin and cheeks to the point where it actually hurt, then telling me to back up and head back to the room cos she forgot her equipment, to physically grabbing and pulling my arm cos i accidentally went the wrong way from the x ray room back to our room - i'm pretty sure anybody could catch me standing there in a flash of straight confusion at how this woman was handling me as if i were her bad ass kid acting out in the grocery store my brain began to panic and told me to get the eff out of this place. as soon as we got back to the room, i grabbed my jacket and told them we would need to reschedule due to Blue being very aggressive and physical with me, to which she looked so insulted and defensive. Green stepped in at this point and you could smell the immediate remorse on her as she was scrambling to remedy the situation, even asking me to "start over." i told them we could start over another day and sashayed my little self right out that office to never return. i had a weariness about giving a dental office in detroit a chance cos i know how my people can be in professional settings (y'all set the standard, not me) and i was RIGHT to be weary. y'all have got to stop hiring street urchins with no house training to come work a job that requires decorum, empathy, and a specific set of COMPETENCIES. guess i have to go to the suburbs to get some decent professionalism, my goddess on earth

Wow!! Two years ago I stumbled upon this dentist office and from that first visit I swear to never…read morego anywhere else. Not only is it Black owned and doing well its staff is by far the greatest I've encountered in some years. The care I received was incomparable to any dentist I've been to. I'm already a nervous wreck just going to a dentist appointment but lo and behold, they made me feel very comfortable. Dr.A. I appreciate you and your staff very much. Y'all are one of a kind. I can tell you were very careful in picking your staff to service your patients. The new office on Gratiot Avenue is beautiful. I'm so proud of you. God has his hands on you. Thank you for caring for the people, thank you for being accessible to the people. Thank you for your kindness to the people. The sky is the limit, keep doing your great work, and most of all keep shining like a Diamond that you are. Your forever patient Heidi Perez.
