They have two locations. One here in Los Altos and the other in Palo Alto. Both locations can be very busy on the weekend. It's almost impossible to make an appointment. In any case, there's only one person whom I trust with: 1. Babylights or really fine highlights 2. Hair smoothening to remove the frizz. The toner or the gloss could be better. I go to a different salon in Saratoga for the babylights to be touched up properly with dark brown+gold toner sometimes. Because they always leave the highlights brassy looking here. It's unfortunately that I have a Part 1 (highlights) here and a Part 2 (toner/gloss) elsewhere but that's the way I prefer it. read more

I've been coming here for years for cut & color. (Yes, they do color/blending for men.) Very happy with my stylist, Kim -- consistently good haircuts, and a kind person :) Always a friendly atmosphere here, affordable prices, and easy booking system. An extra benefit is they let me sit in the massage chair while waiting for the color to set :) It's conveniently located on El Camino near San Antonio (just past the Adobe Animal Hospital when driving south on El Camino). I used to come here a while back and always received great service. We came back this weekend and I didn't recognize any of the staff. I had a video that showed the haircut I wanted for my son from different angles. We reviewed the video twice. And at least 4 to 5 times I told the lady that we wanted to keep his hair on the longer side. I'm not sure if there was a language barrier but she proceeded to chop my son's hair off way shorter than requested. We were all pretty unhappy with the final result. read more

I was introduced to this place through a friend who's been coming here for a long time. Michelle is great and very patient, careful and sets expectations well ( transparent at the start on estimated price, asks before putting in more dramatic layers, etc). She's also friendly to talk to. Only nit was that the styling could have been a little better but most places wouldn't even make that part of the haircut. She spent a generous amount of time on the cut after washing my hair and adjusted the haircut a few time after the initial trim. The store is conveniently located in Mountain View near Walmart and sprouts, and they apparently also do nails / mani / pedis. Very no frills vibe but I'm personally ok with that. Finding a new hair stylist is one of those things I don't like to do. I am usually very loyal, but sometime you need a new look. The last time I cut my hair was when I had grown it out so I could fulfill one of my bucket list, which is to donate my hair. So it's winter time and I don't want it short, so I needed only my bangs cut. Most salons will cut bangs for like $10, so I searched for a salon near my office. The came across this salon and they had a lot of review in their Palo Alto location, but this one is only 1 year old. So as an Elite, one of the reasons I like to write reviews is to support good local businesses. I decided to try this one. On a Monday night, they were not busy at all. I dropped my after work, which was perfect timing. The ladies greeted me and Michelle was the stylist who cut my bangs. She was friendly and I liked that she asked me how short I wanted it and adjusted it to my liking. She even helped me blow out my sides to look better. I came here as this is my normal haircut spot every month or so. Turns out they switched owners since the last time I came in. Shop looks pretty much the same except they removed one of the nail chairs for 2 more hair cutting stations. I came early morning and saw that one of the stylist is still the same from when it was Jeanie's salon. I think her name is Tiffany who's chair is in the back left corner. I'm not sure who else was retained under the change but I'm guessing a couple others stayed as well. I got my hair cut by a new stylist who was working at the middlefield Palo Alto location and moved here. I can't recall her name but she was friendly and did a decent job with my hair. Since I came in during the grand opening special I got the men's cut at a discount. Overall still a good spot. As with any hair cut place, stylists may vary. I was never too particular about who cut my hair as long as it looks good. Shop is still the same and staff was friendly. I'll be back when my schedule permits. read more

I came in for a very much needed haircut(has almost been a year since I had gotten one) without an appointment, might I say and they girls here were very accommodating. I've been to the Midtown in Palo Alto, but since this one was closer and the other location always seems to be busy I decided to go here. Lily was my stylist and she was very friendly and super personable. I've always wanted a go-to stylist that I can come to who will make suggestions and honest feed back for what I can do to my hair and she delivered! She recommended I tone my hair to get the brassiness out(haven't pampered myself like this since my wedding) and even gave me a discount for cut and tone. Will definitely come back! We had been coming to this place for several years and we're generally happy with the service and price, UNTIL TODAY. I got a haircut and my wife got her nails done. Both of us had independently bad service from the people helping us. Haircut quality dropped significantly from my last cut there (it was a different person) and when I asked a simple q at the end (can I style it in this way?), she dismissively just told me that she cut it the way I wanted. My wife had a much worse experience, with sloppy work done on the nails (polish all over her fingertips, pic attached), the lady trying to force a specific color on my wife that she didn't choose, and the lady scolding her (unprompted) for choosing a type of nails that took longer. Finally, the lady cutting my hair kept asking us to pay before my wife's nails were done, and was really pushy about it. The only saving grace is that one lady who was giving a haircut stopped what she was doing to try to understand what was happening and help resolve the situation, but we were already unhappy with the service and treatment. It's a shame because we liked this place previously, but it looks like things have gone downhill. Hope for the last lady's sake that management takes notice and the people who gave us the bad quality service and attitude are either improved or changed. read more

After doing self haircuts through the pandemic, I decided to get a nice cut and found this place over yelp. I was also donating 14 inches of my hair so wanted someone with experience to help me out. I booked an appointment with Lily because of the amazing reviews she had got. I loved the haircut. She was also very helpful and patience with cutting my hair to meet the donation guidelines. But the reason I can't give a 5 star is because, they charged me $65 for the A-line Bob cut which they said was $35 when I had booked the appointment with them. She did the cut and blow-dry (I had washed my hair that morning, so they didn't have to do that), I would assume it would be about $45 even if they charge extra for blow-dry. I was told bob cut takes time and I had a lot of hair so it's $65. It kind of seemed unbelievable, since no other hair studio has given me such a reason before. As much as I loved the hair cut, the overcharging was a bit unexpected. I would request the studio to be upfront about such charges. read more

I had my hair cut by Mai at the Los Altos location. It is by far the worst haircut that I have ever received. I showed Mai a photo of the type of haircut that I wanted, and she proceeded to cut my hair several inches shorter. She spent much of her time answering phone calls, instead of concentrating on cutting my hair. Now I have to wait months until my hair grows out enough to have a reasonable hairdo. When I went for a haircut, I told them around an inch to cut, But they cut it way too short. They definitely cut more than an inch.

You get what you pay for! A men's haircut begins at $19 but can very quickly become a $40+ cut if you are not careful. Keeping that in mind, if you have a particular stylist you are looking for you should call ahead to make an appointment as walk-in's will simply at you the next available person that oftentimes is focused more on speed instead of what you want. Know what you want and be VERY specific here. Sometimes it's best to explain what you want 3-4 times to make sure they don't take a razor down the middle of your hairline. All in all it's a hit or miss salon that can give you the best cut of your life or put you in baseball caps for 4 weeks. My younger brother is a big fan of getting his haircuts here and will continue to come back. read more
