Jessica is phenomenal!!! I moved to a different area of the bay and had to find a new sugaring spot closer to the house. Sugaring just makes sense, so much less damage to the skin. With regular wax I am uncomfortable for hours after my appointment, sometimes "burnt" from the level of heat on the wax. Sugar doesn't have any of that, far more natural of a process! I looked for nearly 6 months before stumbling upon Sugar and Blade and I am so happy that I found her. She has the best attention to detail that I have come across in the industry. Sugar and Blade is finally open again! Jessica has a new scheduling website, very easy to use. Plus you receive an appointment text reminder. When you arrive, the doors of the salon is locked. To enter the building, use the speaker box to call Jessica and she will meet you at the door. Look for Sugar and Blade in the directory which is in alphabetical order. Jessica still offers the same great service but keep in mind due to COVID, Jessica has changed some things in her salon. She will be asking you COVID questions, take your temperature and your belongings will need to be placed inside a plastic bag before going in the basket. She also replaced the towels. I can't believe that I haven't written a review for Sugar and Blade :( I've been going to Jessica since she was at Sugar Spa in Mountain View. When Jessica told me that she was opening up her own place in Sunnyvale, I couldn't have been happier for her. It was a little further away for me but it was always worth the trip. Making an appointment is so easy, I just usually do it online. A few times,I messaged Jessica through yelp to see if I could add on another service or to see if another time was available. She's always been so prompt and accommodating when responding. I initially had the Brazilian sugar waxing done and after that Jessica just charged me for the maintenance. I used to see her almost monthly and it got to the point where I would see her every few months since the hairs were growing very thin and fine. Now, I can go months without getting it done. I love sugaring because it is less painful then getting the hot wax and it also exfoliates the skin. I love going to Jessica because she's very professional, fast, efficient and does a really good job. She does spend time after the waxing plucking that hairs that was missed. The only other service that I have tried is a facial, and it was more of a treat for myself. It was just so relaxing and she got rid of my whiteheads and made my pores smaller. I've went to two other sugaring people within the 9 years due to JESSICA being fully booked or on vacation and they were not the same. First time trying Sugaring and I love it! I was in and out the door within 10 minutes for underarms. The place is inside a building that has a bunch of shops inside, kinda hard to find because it doesn't say "Sugar and Blade" on the outside. But it is the building with the address labeled 917. Jessica is very knowledgeable of the products she uses, all chemical free! She was very inviting and made my stress levels go down. I've been coming to Jessica for a little more than a year now. I appreciate how professional she is. Jessica is always on time and makes the experience very comfortable, despite the little bit of pain that comes with sugaring the bikini area, but that is out of her control of course! I like that Jessica only uses organic products and never uses baby powder/talcum due to the harm it can cause to her clients. Lastly, this woman is quick, she obviously has been doing this a long time and knows what she's doing. I personally prefer quick service as I am always on the go. Never going back to shaving!! I was introduced to sugaring and Jessica through a good friend of mine. And while I was very skeptical I was TIRED of shaving and feeling stuble hairs in those places (can I get an amen ladies). She makes sure you're comfortable throughout the whole waxing process, and if needed you can ask her to take breaks in between.
