I used to get my Brazilian done with a specific lady who had a wax clinic. She unfortunately moved out to Texas so I was due getting waxed and decided to try EWC. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I get checked in and Jennifer calls for my name, we get into the room and she doesn't say anything. I just guess I'm supposed to start taking my clothes off and do it while she is on the computer doing something.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I started a casual convo with her and she was friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But I did feel rushed and it was very painful! I've had other people do it and it wasn't as painful. The room was small, the vibe was just not welcoming. [[HIGHLIGHT]]She also gave the vibe she did not want to be there when I first saw her.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If that was my first wax experience, it would have been very bad. The place does not feel cozy, it does not make you feel relaxed. Honestly, if you're thinking about wax, go with private specialists. I haven't reviewed on Yelp in a very long time, but felt compelled to do it cause of the terrible experience :/. I just did a Brazilian and underarm with Debony and while she is very nice I can't believe the outcome I had. I haven't waxed in over a year cause of pregnancy but have been getting waxes (soft wax like European center uses) for 15 years before this (including after pregnancy / long hiatuses). Nearly all of the hair for my Brazilian is broken off and there are patchy parts with hairs everywhere along my bikini line. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Before we even started I told her specifically I could trim any hair that was too long (even offered to come back if needed) but instead she just went to waxing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She didn't pull the skin taut or the wax off quickly which was making me nervous the whole time. When she finished I could see immediately it was an extremely patchy job...When I pointed it out she said they were ingrowns (they are not...the hair was fully exposed) and cause it's been so long since I had a wax....to be honest, I've been doing this for years and had waxes after long periods without anywhere near this result. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Again she meant well and offered for me to come back to fix or fix right then but I just didn't trust it at that point.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] On top of that the wax was very hot, she turned off the heat and would try to wait a sec / spin the stick to have the wax cool but even after several times saying it's too hot she just kept going. I have a giant red patch on one side that is still sensitive after it burning a bit. I'm reviewing mainly as feedback and to warn others. I don't wish anyone ill but frankly this was terrible technique and one of the worst waxes I've had in years. I'd recommend just avoiding. read more

I had Sam and she was very warm and accommodating, bedside manners on fleek! I appreciated how she explained step by step during the whole appointment what she was doing, it was only my second time ever getting waxed and this time felt like a breeze. Carissa does a great and smooth job. She's quick and efficient and treats the skin with "baby-like" care. I love the pace with which she applies and peels the wax. It's slow and thoughtful. I only wish the European Wax Center offered better deals. Sometimes technicians leave off patches of the skin wondering if it belongs to a selected package. I also wish they packed some cushion of time between clients so that there could be some room for impromptu requests. Having used several small businesses and independent waxers the past few years, I didn't imagine the corporate experience would be better than where I'd been going, but I'm happy to be proven wrong! This location happened to have same-day appointment availability on a Saturday, which is rare, and I arrived 30 minutes early to get a couple of areas waxed. The front office staff was courteous an professional and were able to move me up to go early. Note that as of July 2022, masks are required at EWCs, regardless of local mandates, and this location did provide masks when someone entered having forgotten theirs. Sam, my waxer, was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, talented and FAST. She used EWC's proprietary hard wax and post-wax serum to zip through my wax in just a few minutes, and I was very impressed. One thing I loved was that the combo of their nearly-sterile environment, hard wax, and serum to finish means NO RESIDUE on me, my clothes, or my shoes, and as someone who hates any hint of stickiness, this was amazing. Their pricing was generally on par with most places--maybe a few dollars more on some things, but a couple less on others. I'll be going back for sure. read more

Had Armeis do my Brazilian before and she was excellent. She wasn't available today at the time that I wanted, and I saw Deboney's raving reviews on Yelp, so I decided to book her. I must say it was quite a painful experience. First of all, the wax was too hot. I told her, and she didn't seem to care and didn't try adjusting the temperature, so it was burning me. On top of that, she didn't wait till the wax was completely dried before ripping it off the most sensitive areas, it was so painful! Any experienced waxer should know that it's wrong! AND she didn't pull my skin taut before ripping the wax off either. Left me in so much pain and not a very clean Brazilian. So sloppy! Would have given a 1 star if it's not for Armeis. read more

I think the girl who did my wax was Amarise (sp?) This was my second Brazilian ever, the last being about two years ago. My first impression of the facility was nice. However, as soon as I was greeted by Amarise, I felt rushed. I went in, and she immediately asked me to undress and get on the table. I was expecting her to provide a wipe and step out of the room so that I felt more comfortable, but she just kind of stood there after gathering her supplies. I asked her if she could step out and give me a wipe to freshen up, and I'm sure she would see that I was anxious. She handed me a Kleenex and said "sure, I have to tell them that I'm going to be late for my next appointment anyway." She comes back, I'm on the table. She asked me to do the butterfly thing, and nervously, my hands immediately covered my lower half. She said "I don't mean to be rude, but I only have like 9 minutes left to do this." Okay I get it, but I'm not a regular waxer. I'm not as comfortable with the process as others might be, and it's not MY fault you're running behind. Anyway, she starts waxing, no count down just rips hair out. When we get to the back portion, mind you I'm in a VERY vulnerable state because I'm totally exposed, she said "women's bodies are so surprising. Everyone has the same things, but some people's are more 'interesting.'" INTERESTING. My privates are interesting. Why would anyone say that to someone?! I tried to play it off, but I felt so humiliated. She tried to save face by apologizing for rushing me before, and explained that she thought she had someone after me but it turns out she didn't. Needless to say, first and last time coming here. I should probably read reviews for recommendations of names next time. I gave two stars because she was quick, and I'm sure all of the hair is gone because it felt like she ripped EVERYTHING off, however, I did not look because I didn't want to examine my INTERESTING lower half while she was standing right there. read more

Came here as a first-timer for a full-bikini wax. They offer a half off special for first time customers. Jennifer was my esthetician and did the job in 15 minutes. The process was painful but that's to be expected. The red bumps subsided after 48 hours and left me with extremely soft skin. She provided me with a few samples of the coconut body wash, polish & oil. I am obsessed with the scent and plan to purchase a bottle of the wash at my next appointment. Great location! I'm particular, Alondra is incredible! She makes you feel really comfortable and is great at reading the room - ie she's a great person to chat with when you're in the mood to be more talkative, or she can comfortably work in silence if you're having an off day. Let's get real here people. Hair that are exposed should be trimmed. Hairs that are NOT exposed have no use and should be TOTALLY ELIMINATED. PERIOD. and to do that, you will have to find a place where they can do a great job or you can also just save money and shave that thing yourself....every freakin daaaayyyyy. I came across this branch because everything in Downtown PA was fully booked on that certain day. This was a same day appointment that I was trying to make. Finally, EWC had an opening and took me in. Like the rest of the EWC, No double dipping, uses hard wax, 50% OFF on your service if you are a first time customer, he place is very clean. The receptionist was very friendly and the aesthetician that did my wax was hella bubbly and professional. After less than 20minutes, I was already on my way out. You can purchase their brazilian package for $378 for 9 sessions plus they throw in 3 more sessions for FREE. You can do three payments if you don't want to shell out the whole amount. Saves you a lot of money! My only concern was after a week, i had stubbles already (what the....) and that actually never happens with my regular aesthetician. After my first visit, Katie, the manager contacted me and offered me a complimentary wax to comp for the unpleasant experience. I must say that I was really appreciative to her cares and concerns and of course the kind gesture. So she booked me an appointment for brazilian wax (same service) with Jenna. I must admit that I read a not so stellar review about Jenna below and I was a little bit nervous. BUT I thought to myself.. if she was bad, why would Katie booked me with her since this was to prove that their services are excellent! I must say that it was a GREAT waxing experience. The appointment started on time and Jenna was very FAST and EFFICIENT. She didn't talk much, so depending on how you are as some might prefer a more talkative waxer to distract them from the pain and some might prefer quieter ones LOL. I've been here twice and I've been very pleased with my overall experience. Customer Service: I had a specialist named Jessica who was referred to me by a friend. She was very sweet, and patiently explained to me the waxing process since I used to get my brows threaded. She doesn't force any small talk which I appreciate. Waxing: It barely hurt but itched a bit after. Jessica was attentive enough to leave some hairs that were just growing back to fill in the shape of my right brow properly which has been looking messed up for years because my old threader just took them off every time. They take care to shape your brows here and you can request a certain shape. After the waxing they use their in-house lotion which has a lemon-y tart scent and then fill in your brows using a brow powder if you wish. Price: First time is free and my second time was $20. I'm willing to pay that much because the service is good. It's an acceptable one a month investment for beauty care. Don't forget to tell them if you were referred by a friend so that they can get some credit! read more

It takes a lot for me to actually sit down a write a review, but the Mountain View European Wax Center was such a good experience, I feel I owe it to all of you so you can benefit! I booked an appointment here at the recommendation of my roommate. The day of my appointment I walked in a few minutes early, checked in, and learned about their services, the wax they use, and special discount service packages they offer. Some of the reviews here indicate that the front desk really tries to up-sell their service packages. I didn't get that impression but in fact welcomed the information and didn't feel pressured to make any decisions. My appointment was with Ashley. She was friendly, professional, informative, and quick but paid extreme attention to detail and explained each step as she went. The hard wax that the European Wax Center uses is a neat dark purple and only results in a short-lasting sting. The best part though, is how soft my skin feels after a wax here. I'm not sure I can ever use any other kind of wax again! If you're on the fence about making an appointment here, I'd suggest you do. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised -- and find yourself making another appointment to come back! read more
