Ambience=100% Service =100, shout at to UMA our waitress, she had good knowledge of everything we ordered. Food=100%. There was so much to choose from. From the different sauces to the spirit menu. We ordered some hot sake, small, 4.5 shots. Very hot at 1st but cools down rather quickly. We ordered a pear martini that was really good, a bit sweet for me so I added some Sriracha. It worked! We ordered 5 sushi rolls. Eyes were bigger than our stomachs. Please visit this establishment at eitherocation, west Bloomfield or Detroit. KEEP YELPING MY FRIENDS!

Good service, food and drinks! I always judge a Chinese place by their hot and sour soup. There's is good but not great (thus the 4 stars), but everything else was very good to great. Mongolian Beef, Fish Ball soup, Yuzu margaritas, and lots of sushi. This is some of the best Chinese in Detroit!

Ended up here on a whim on Valentine's Day. It was a little bit of an odd time that we arrived (before a dinner rush) but only bar seating was available. Seems there is not a lot of seating in general so expect to wait. The bartender was very sweet and patient and had no issue with us asking questions or drinking only water at the bar. (I wanted to try a couple of the drinks I saw on offer but they were just a little pricey and we were on a bit of a tight budget). We ordered 2 dim sum items - BBQ pork buns and I believe dumplings? Legitimately cannot remember the second item because I never took a picture and I remember not liking them as much. The lo mein was a generous portion and it was pretty good but tbh I feel like I could have made it at home and I kept adding soy sauce to it. Overall not a bad place. I would come back to try some other dishes - the pad thai a gentleman down the bar was eating looked really good.

Best dim sum in metro Detroit. Great service and everything is delicious. Plus a full menu beyond dim sum including great Peking Duck. I enjoy the atmosphere better than the West Bloomfield location which has a deeper dim sum menu.

Tasty food and a good bar selection. The service was excellent and portions were generous. I'll definitely be back and recommend if you're in town.

The food was okay, but in my opinion there were not a lot of the usual dim sum options. I like the location in Troy better. The scallion pancakes barely had a scallions in them and were too oily and crispy in a not so great way. I enjoyed my chicken and vegetable dish though!

The food here is ok. Some dishes are better than others. I will say the service was also only ok, they took a while for the food to come out. I've been here a couple times, it's decent. It's not a very big restaurant so not a lot of seating .

A truly exceptional Chinese restaurant with amazing dimsum (such as the jar tow, Shumai, steamed dumplings and curried squid). Their main dishes like lo mein and fried grouper with corn chowder and rice were also excellent! Service was also very prompt and attentive. The interior atmosphere was further very inviting and large, and I sat at the bar (you get full service there) but there are also many tables elsewhere, and multiple floors I believe. Highly recommended!

First time having Chinese in the area. A lot of options since they have their regular menu, dim sum menu, and Japanese menu. The regular menu looks to be what they specialize in. I tried the egg foo young and the braised beef brisket and bean curd. Both dishes come with rice. I enjoyed them, they weren't too salty. Flavor of the brisket was great and enjoyed the fresh herbs on top. They were pretty fast too and overall solid place.

    Pork dumplings

Decent dim sum this far from Chicago is hard to find, but Shangri-La gives you that fix. A cozy hidden spot in midtown, the wait staff is eager to recommend their favorite dishes and they are very welcoming for such a busy spot. Try the bbq pork buns, pork soup dumplings, and the duck noodle soup! If you want to try something new, the fried squid with spicy salt. Very fun.

Great food!! Service is awesome. The food came out fast. Definitely check this place out

Inside feels very nostalgic with decorations, especially being inside of a mall. It's one of my favorite Sunday morning go-tos after a night out. I got home and opened the food and it was filled with vegetables I was allergic to. I called and spoke with the person I ordered from they confirmed that it should've been made with only bok choy and was told to come back and get the correct food. I asked on this phone call if I would need to bring the food that was made incorrectly back they assured me I didn't. Then less than 10 minutes later called me back and said that the kitchen didn't think they made a mistake and to bring back the food to prove they were wrong. I came back with the receipt and incorrectly made item and inquired as to why they switched up in less than 10 minutes no response was given. Then a woman who I believe to be an owner opened up the food and started sifting through it with a spoon telling me what the vegetables were. Once I again reminded them that, that still isn't what I ordered she finally remade the food and made me wait again as they didn't have the correctly made meal ready as they promised me on both phone calls. This incident also violates Rule 3-306.14 of the Michigan Food Safety Code as well. I have been a loyal customer of Shang-ri La's Midtown and West Bloomfield location even during COVID and to be treated this way was pretty devastating.

Good news, we ended up here and she thoroughly enjoyed her experience here. The staff was so kind and helpful. This place also had a surprising amount of people coming in for lunch on a random Tuesday, but that is good for this place. We started with the Cantonese shrimp noodles. They are so delicious and nostalgic of places I would go to in Toronto in my childhood. The portion was so huge I now have noodles for days, which we are super happy about. We had the BBQ buns and pineapple buns, both really sweet, sticky and delicious. We had the rice noodles with shrimp and either beef or pork (not sure which one I actually ordered), I crave those, especially the shrimp ones. We tried the fried, crispy shrimp bean curd rolls with plum sauce and a favorite of mine, sticky rice. As always, we had tons of leftovers and look forward to having our meal for lunches and dinners this week. Plus, now that I know they have a great selection and have better hours than some of the other places, we will be back. My child wants to try the sesame chicken and some other dishes on their general menu.

This place is absolutely my vibe. The staff are fantastic, friendly, and very skilled at their jobs. Beverages were refilled, we were checked in with, and felt taken care of. Hubby and I laughed at how many times we zipped past the restaurant without noticing it. My husband and I both ordered the Major Tom Khatsu, which has a coconut chicken broth base. The chicken katsu pieces were the perfect level of crispy without being heavily breaded. There was also a nice little kick to the dish, which made it so, so yummy. Our friends got the Shoyu ramen with pork belly, and the Corned Beef ramen. The Shoyu dish seemed to be more enjoyable. Though we stuck with water, cans of Faygo pop seemed to be the drink offerings - other than alcoholic beverages. Areas for improvement include the waiting. Johnny Noodle King is a small place, with a main dining area and then what seems to be a bar area attached. We initially waited by the door for our table along with another small group (we were a party of four). We were then asked to go to the bar area to wait so that it would clear the door, but found it interesting how we were asked to move but not the other group. Also, we were standing away from the doormat we were not obstructing anyone's movements. The wait was long, and we asked if we could order food to the bar area (as opposed to waiting for a table). We were told 'no', yet there was a table full of patrons who were eating. There was no notification system, so our friend had to keep going to the front to see if our table was ready. Don't get me wrong; 'hooray' to Johnny Noodle King for having such great business volume. However, they need a way to manage it so that people will not be put off. Once we were seated, we did have good service from our waitstaff, and the food was very good. My husband and I plan to return to explore more of the menu. Hopefully, we can pick a time of day when waiting won't be such a big issue.

This usually includes appetizers and dessert. Instead, the luncheon consisted of 10 entrees served family style. We were cool with this, and saw it as a great opportunity to sample the vast menu. For beverages, we had green tea. While my husband and I couldn't sample every dish due to allergies, I would say we tried at least 6 of the dishes. Of those 6, I think there was only one we didn't particularly care for (the eggplant). All other dishes we tried were quite tasty, and the service was great. The teapots were quickly refilled, the food was delivered promptly, and the staff was very cordial and professional. For ambiance, the decor was a little outdated, but not shabby. Regardless, I am happy when places focus the attention on the quality of their food rather than on any fluff. There didn't seem to be a time limit for our party, and none of us felt rushed by the staff. We all felt relaxed enough to enjoy our meal and conversation. One thing I felt bad about is there were a lot of uneaten dishes. Even when shared among tables of 10, ten entrees is a lot to eat! And that was without rice! We were told by our table mates that the restaurant didn't offer takeaway for unfinished meals. That is a shame because that meant a lot of food was going to be wasted. An area of improvement I would suggest is to offer takeaways for uneaten portions, so as to reduce waste. I was going to suggest serving rice as well, but in all honesty we didn't miss it. My husband and I plan to return to Golden Harvest so that we can sample appetizers and explore the menu a little more, but until then I will give my luncheon experience 4 stars.
