Midtown tire always takes great care of me. They've patched holes in my tires, replaced my tires, done my oil changes before. Most recently, I was meant to leave for a trip to New York and woke up with a flat. I needed to get it fixed before my flight 3 hours later, and somehow they managed to get me in and out in under an hour!! Definitely on the expensive side. I was quoted ~$1,400 for new brake pads and rotors and found a mobile brake repair place that quoted me under $1k, but the service and convenience of midtown tire is worth it. read more

We had been loyal customers of Midtown Tire for eight years and always had positive experiences until today. In July, my wife had two new rear tires installed. At that time, Midtown offered an alignment check for an additional $160. We declined, believing it was not necessary. After only about 6,000 miles, while driving my family to visit relatives for Easter, I noticed the steel belts showing on the outside edge of both rear tires. That clearly raised safety concerns, so we brought the car in to understand how brand new tires could fail so quickly. We were told the wheels were out of alignment and that because we declined the alignment check previously, the damage was entirely our responsibility. My issue with this explanation is simple. If alignment is truly critical to the safety and longevity of tires, it should not be positioned as an optional upsell, similar to an air filter during an oil change. Midtown then presented us with a quote of $1,060 for two replacement tires and an alignment. For reference, the same tires installed in July cost $694. The most disappointing part of this experience was the store manager, Jerome. He remained in the back of the shop and communicated through frontline employees rather than speaking with us directly. My interaction with Dakota was professional and positive until Jerome became involved. When I finally spoke with Jerome face to face, there was zero empathy and no willingness to offer any consideration or compromise. His message was blunt. This was 100 percent our fault. For comparison, I called Mavis Tires, who installed the exact same tires and completed the alignment the same day for $849. Had Jerome shown even a basic level of customer care or empathy, we would have stayed with Midtown for service. Unfortunately, that did not happen, and they have lost a long time customer. read more

I had a sudden flat on my EV and they got me in and out, last minute, with same-day service. super convenient as it is extremely walkable from midtown, and they didn't try to upsell me on anything. I was hoping for a patch job, and that's what I got, with no issues on the tire since. so instead of paying $800 for a new EV tire the bill was around $60. not too shabby! read more

I've been twice...Most recently, I went in for new tires. They broke the handle off my door handle, tried to gaslight me by saying it was probably loose. I had to wait much longer for the door handle repair. They show me the "repaired" handle, but the part with the keyhole was still severely scratched and loose. So then I had to take unpaid time off work to come back again after they finally got the repair done correctly. Not sure why they couldn't have just checked to see if the door was locked rather than rip it off when the door wouldn't open. First time I went there, someone stole the coins out of my car and they also tried telling me I needed a ton of stuff done to the car. My gut was telling me they were trying to rip me off, so I went to another place for a second opinion and was told the car was fine. Two bad experiences. read more

They have serviced my car several times. I bought Goodyear tires (Howell mill) and the midtown location was only one to find slow leak that went on for way too long. They do honor "free rotation" that came with my tires. I've always been able to get in/out without extreme delays. They have surprised me with a needed expensive repair amid oil change but later driving my car- it corrected a tremor / vibration in my steering wheel that had been their gif years. Other dealerships/ Goodyears never addressed it. Downside- prices seem a bit higher than others but nothing significant. Parking area for customers is not in a great area. Waiting area is minimal at best and bathroom will remind you of road-trip convenience store. However, you are close to Zaxby, IHOP, & Dunkin'. One other limit bonus: they sometimes have courtesy drop off if you are going somewhere close. read more

After placing my tire order over phone the day before and leaving my car in their lot per instructions, it falls on me to call them back the end of the next day and learn they never actually made the order - they "got distracted". I brought my Honda CRV to Midtown Tire after the tire pressure warning light kept coming on, even though I had already added more air to the tires. Another service center suggested I might need a new tire sensor and told me I'd have to wait a few hours to get it checked. Midtown Tire was also busy, but Greg, a service tech there, was able to take a quick look at the tires and recognized that the only issue was that the TPMS sensor needed to be manually reset. He fixed it in under a minute, showed me how to do it in the future, and saved me hours of time and potentially hundreds of dollars for a sensor replacement I didn't need. While the customer service was very friendly, they were going to overcharge me by a lot: I got the exact same set of jobs (plugs and coil packs replaced and a fuel system clean out) done for half the price elsewhere, mainly because Midtown Tire was only willing to use dealer-sourced parts rather than offering third-party as an option, something I only surmised after going elsewhere. The tyre repair they did a couple of weeks before did go smoothly and quickly, so for small stuff I might recommend them if necessary. Otherwise they're overpriced. read more

Terrible place. After trying to get a BMW dealership to replace a leaking tire without success we were referred to these jokers by the Ritz Atlanta valet crew. Went there at 630am in the morning and the manager said he couldn't change the tire as he had work lined up all day even though told him it's an emergency. Didn't care and showed no interest. Looks like a dump of a business and am glad they didn't touch the car. Not worth even the one star rating. read more

DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE GOOD REVIEWS It is important that you read this review in your entirety for your own sake. My wife purchased two tires on Goodyear.com and chose Midtown Tire as the installer solely based off of the "good reviews." Usually this process is fool-proof, however Midtown Tire proved to be the exception. They should be rated One Star overall, quite honestly. First off, the appointment time that I confirmed on Goodyear.com for Midtown Tire to get my tires installed was not available. How did they contact me to let me know, you might be wondering? They sent me an EMAIL. They never called. After seeing the email that my appointment was not available, I then had to call them to find available appointment days. Customer Service Failure # 1 - The female employee that answered the phone told me that they didn't have appointments available for a week. She told me, "you can come in at 7am the next day (after my scheduled appointment) and should be able to walk-in before people with appointments get here." Had I known this would have been the case, I would not have chosen Midtown Tire to get my tires delivered there, however since they were already delivered, I chose to take the advice of this employee and walk-in. My wife then took the car to Midtown Tire this morning at 7am when they opened, only to be denied the ability to get her tires installed. What happened was, the tires were ordered on Goodyear.com under my wife's name (because she would be taking the car to get the tires installed) and her billing address. Customer Service Failure # 2 - They told her that because the address on her Driver's License did NOT match the billing address that the tires had already been paid for on Goodyear.com, that they could not install the tires or give them to her, even though her name is the one that purchased them and on the order. We moved recently so her billing address does not match the address on her driver's license. This is NOT an issue at any other business, I guarantee you. The billing address is the billing address for the form of payment you are using, everyone's billing address is not the same as their address of residence which is why companies allow you to enter both. Goodyear.com's order process does not require you or state ANYWHERE that the address on your Driver's License has to match the billing address on the order. Customer Service Failure # 3 - The male employee that told my wife he would not be able to do the install because of the address mismatch, told her to call Goodyear (who's customer service line by the way did not open until 9am, and it is 7am). to see if they can "do anything." My wife showed them a picture of my driver's license, with the billing address on that (again please note that it was never stated anywhere this was required), and they wouldn't accept that, nor provide any solutions for the issue at hand. My wife then left after not being able to get the tires installed, even after talking to the manager attempting to get some sort of a solution, and I subsequently called. I got Neil at Midtown Tire, and asked to be transferred to a manager. Well clearly he wasn't taking me serious as he transferred me to an employee named Jeremy, who I then began to explain the situation to and after just one sentence he said hold on and transferred me to the real manager Derek Cassey. Derek informed me that this is a policy, even though my wife was told at the shop "you see this when you are purchasing the tire" which is incorrect, just take a look at the screenshot attached to this review. Customer Service Failure # 4 - He did not offer any apology and also failed again to provide some sort of a solution saying "well I will call Goodyear at 9am and see what they can do" but that is unacceptable considering Midtown Tire canceled my original appointment, my wife woke up to be there when they opened at 7am because they said "they are busy so thats why they canceled our appointment", and they did nothing to aid her in getting the tires that she purchased installed. Needless to say I will NEVER go to Midtown Tire, I do NOT recommend it to anyone that they create policies about your driver's license having to match the billing address of your payment and hold your own tires that you paid for, doing a complete disservice to the customer by canceling appointments because they were "busy" and not even calling the customer to reschedule. read more

I've been going to Midtown Tire, for nearly 2 decades, so clearly I find them trustworthy and I feel like I'm getting a good value! The staff has always been friendly, professional and knowledgeable about their products. I appreciate they don't try and sell me on the most expensive tires, but rather they try and match the best tires for my driving needs. I also like the additional warranty available for purchase, that will replace or repair a tire that you may mess up on your own, by popping in on a curb (sadly I've done this more times than I care to count), or whatever a person can do to mess up a perfectly good tire, that has nothing to do with normal wear, or manufacturer defect. This warranty may not come in handy for everyone, but for those of us (you know who you are), it comes quite in handy, and it only cost 15% of the cost of the tire, should you need to purchase it :) If you're waiting on your car, and not dropping it off, the waiting room is clean, with Wi-Fi, snacks, plenty of seating, and places to sit your laptop on, if you need to work. And better than all that, the bathrooms are very clean, as well! I highly recommend Midtown Tire, I won't buy my tires, or wiper blades anywhere else! read more

I brought my Mercedes into Midtown Tire because I hit a pothole and then a curb. The two tires on the right-hand side of my car had chunks taken out of them. I made an appointment with Midtown Tire, assuming I would need to purchase two new tires. When I arrived, I was greeted by Larry (?) who was very friendly & helpful. After someone looked at my car, he informed me that my tires were fine, but I did need an alignment. The alignment was done in an hour. Larry could have easily told me that I needed new tires & I wouldn't have thought twice about it. Now I know that I can 100 percent trust Midtown Tire to treat me fairly. I needed to get my tires replaced. I wanted the super quiet Michelin tires. They had to order them in for me, which took less than a week. I came in on a week day and waited in office for a few hours. They let me know after they were done that I would need an alignment, but I didn't totally understand why or why it cost that much, so I ended up leaving without the alignment and doing it later that day at a Toyota service center when I looked into the prices and understood the purpose. They are refusing to help me change my tire so we are sitting in our car waiting for AAA to arrive. The crew at Midtown Tire have always been top notch when I come in with any tire issues. It's helpful to have an appointment with them but you can also drop your car off for them to work into the schedule so long as you don't mind not having your vehicle for the day. Either incompetent or deceitful. Almost set me back $1,500 unnecessarily if I had actually gotten a repair done with them. I've had my oil changed hear previously, and that service was fine, but when I decided to have them look at my car that wouldn't start, the resulting estimate for the repair was eye-widening. My car was failing to start even though all of my cars electronics were fully functional, and even after I attempted to jump my car using another car. Their (+$100) inspection showed that I needed all new spark plugs and ignitions coils in addition to a bunch of fluids that needed to be switched. The final cost: north of $1,500. I decided to have another mechanic look at my car, and he had it running within 10 minutes after using a mobile battery jumper. He didn't even charge me. He simply pointed out that the battery was good, but that using another car to jump my car may not have been supplying enough juice all at once. Back to my spicy headline. If they couldn't point the same thing out after an inspection that costs more than $100, then they either don't know how to diagnose engine issues correctly, or they simply don't care and know that being in the heart of the city means that they have a lot nearby people to potentially rip off in a hurry. read more

Permanently Stained my car paint and rims with some chemical, Left hand prints and dirt all over car near wheel wells and is claiming they aren't responsible. Have caused $1k in damage minimum after charging me $500. NEVER entrust your car to their inept care! They initially claimed they would review video tapes monitoring work done in the shop; now they claim their video camera is down and didn't tape anything. And they also claim they reviewed the tapes and saw nothing. The 2 opposing facts further incriminate them in simply denying responsibility for their mistakes. read more

Sheesh. I really hate dealing with mechanics. I mean, really, really hate. This place reeked of skeeze. My reliable Honda was making some pecular noises, so I wanted to take it in. I live super close to Midtown tire, so I stopped in for some help with a diagnostic with the intention of getting a quote and hopefully shopping around. When I handed my key over for the diagnostic, I had to pay them $55 just to touch the car and look over it. I thought that was pretty unusual, but after the mechanic/front desk gentleman (who was insanely friendly and nice) said that provided there'd need to be some repairs done to the car, that $55 would be absorbed into the hourly fee. Fair enough. I signed the dotted line. I should have listened to my original reservations. I don't ever remember having to pay someone money to diagnose the car. Insane. And I even had a high maintaince beetle several years ago, which was no stranger to mechanics. I got a call a few hours later, explaining I'd need to replace the front brakes. Fine. I was prepared for bad news. The noises weren't natural. I appreciated that they even took me into the garage to see the car, to show what work would be done, how they'd do it and whatnot. I was turned off, however, by the disorganization back there and the mechanics' inability to communicate with each other, which could leave an extreme amount for error. Not good when they're working on your car. They apparently removed all four of my tires and while one mechanic stood behind my car, prepared to work on lord knows what, the other was yelling from across the garage that he was at the wrong car and was yelling about him removing my tires and asking everyone who authorized him to do that. Thank goodness someone was paying attention. But the biggest insult was that the cost to do the repairs was going to be outrageous. I knew that before even shopping around. I told them thanks, but no thanks. And without them even fixing my car--minus the unnecessary tire removal--I had to shell over $55. When a girl's counting pennies in this economy, I found that to be insane. Needless to say, I took it over to another location. They charged nearly $90 less. My only regret? Great Place! Great Prices! No scare tactics! Needed to get my car serviced before I headed to Florida. Finally found a place with good service and to top it off they didn't try to scare me into fixing things I didn't need. I had a coupon for an oil change, fluid top off and tire rotation. They also checked out some other items on my car. They let me know my brake pads were ok - but the noise would get louder as the rotors hadn't been turned when the new pads were put on. They also told me my battery was testing bad but to check the receipt from where I purchased it as it might still be under warranty. I really appreciated their honesty and will be back to get my brakes fixed. The business was squeaky clean and all the service men were awesome. After Motor City South failed to follow through on their promise to put on my new tire by end of day (I got a flat), I was left in a bind - all tire shops were closing for the day & I need my car to deliver meals in the morning to needy families as part of a volunteer group Luckily Midtown Tire was open later than the rest, and had my tire in stock! I explained my predicament & they told me if I could get there soon they could get it done tonight. I booked it there on my flimsy spare tire and NO LIE they literally got me in and out within 15/20 minutes start to finish despite being slammed! I believe the gentleman at the front desk put in a special request for me and just... wow. I was almost in tears they were so awesome and friendly. I've gotten tires, oil changes and few random things here and there from midtown tire over the years. I always felt like their prices were inflated but the staff is nice enough. I went back this time because after only 20k miles on new tires from them they were completely worn down. (I hadn't rotated them as much as a should have so I'll take fault ) but I wanted to check if there was issues with those tires and warranty coverage. There wasn't. While there I asked them to look at my brakes bc they felt low to me. They called back and told me I needed front brake pads and rotors and brake fluid flush out- $600 total for the two front axels. I said that must be the pricing for the premium pads and rotors? No. So I took my business to a local shop.. just got a call back from them $130 ..because I actually only need front brake pads. Sad that businesses still try to rip people off like this. Midtown tire also sent me a work up suggesting that my car needed body work.... there's like one small unnoticeable dent on my hood. #redflag Moral of the story: support small businesses, Go to your local mom & pop mechanic ! And never go to midtown tire, unless you just need some slightly overpriced tires. read more
