Midtown and Dr Clive + Lang + Haverson over the years have truly transformed our rescues. We saved 2 poodles. One was in horrible shape, and she's truly a different dog after 3+ years of care at Midtown. They've helped us navigate eplilepsy, IBD, skin diseases, eye diseases, and more. We recently moved out of the area and tried 3 vets for routine stuff around us. NOPE! Driving an hour each way to see Dr Clive Yes, this vet is absurdly expensive. Just get pet insurance, because they're the best of the best!

I have been taking my dog Roxie to this vet for months and we had scheduled an appointment at 7:30am for her to get fixed mind you the estimate they had sent us over email was $160 we got to her appointment and they had a form for me to sign with a estimate between $800-$900 THAT IS CRAZY I asked the vet why the average price to get your dog spayed is $100 and all she had to say was well I'm sorry but not here we will never be coming back again!

Kelsey who is perfectly healthy & STILL ALIVE, against doctor's recommendations

Dr. Clive is wonderful- explains everything very thoroughly, and is very knowledgeable. I never feel overcharged for services here.

This one has been difficult to write…read more We've been taking our pups here for 5+ years and have nothing but positive remarks about the team, services and facility. About three weeks ago, we had to do the unimaginable. Our oldest pup had kidney failure and we had no choice but to let her go to sleep a final time. We called ahead so the team would be prepared. What I didn't expect was the professionalism, empathy and preparation we received. For starters, they have a private, separate entrance to accommodate the gravity of the situation. You enter into a room where you are given time to spend with your pup and family in these difficult final moments. Only when you're ready do you signal via a silent button for the vet and tech to come in. They explain the process and give you a little more time to say goodbye. After a final confirmation, the process begins and is over quickly. Throughout the process, the technician is stabilizing your pup and saying sweet words to them and us. We had the option to hold the pup ourselves but couldn't. When it was over, we were allowed to remain in the room by ourselves until we were ready to leave through the same private door. I thank Garden Oaks Veterinary Clinic for their support, compassion and their private accommodations. I can't think of a more respectful way to handle such a difficult situation. A final comment, they have after death care services available as well.

A Diagnostic Virtuoso: The "Mozart" of Veterinary Medicine…read more As a retired Clinical Director who has spent a career hiring and evaluating medical professionals, I have an exceptionally high standard for clinical competence and professional integrity. For months, I searched for answers for my 123-pound gentle giant, Axel. I took him to several well-known clinics in Houston, but regrettably, they failed to find even the single mass I had discovered myself. They simply fumbled the opening statement. Then, I found Dr. Anna Parham at PetCare Express on Holcombe Boulevard. Dr. Parham is a true prodigy of her craft. While others relied on expensive overhead and corporate checklists, she used her hands and her clinical intuition--the soul of medicine that is clearly in her DNA. Within minutes, she identified three separate masses that the previous clinics had entirely missed. She performed a single FNA (Fine Needle Aspiration) to confirm the nature of the primary mass, while her expert clinical touch immediately identified the others as typical, benign lipomas. She gave us the unremarkable exam result we had been searching for. From the moment we walked into PetCare Express, the entire staff was exceptionally warm, friendly, and helpful. In a high-pressure field, their genuine caring and support created a seamless, stress-free environment for both me and my dog. Dr. Parham found in minutes what high-priced hospitals missed for months. She recognized a client who values quality and met that standard with an honest, transparent diagnosis. In a city of systemic predatory patterns, Dr. Anna Parham and the team at PetCare Express are a sanctuary of honesty. She is young, brilliant, and possesses a natural mastery of medicine that mirrors a virtuoso. Axel walked out a perfect patient, and I walked out knowing I have finally found the successor to the great legacy vets of Houston.

But if you have plans after your visit consider to rain check or call in work. I have come here for vaccinations for my yorkie and it was easier with a 2 hour wait during my first visit. Then I come on a Monday without appointment as a walk in thinking it'd be better but coming in for a check up is nowhere near as swift. I have been here since 11am and now it's around 2:30 just now getting seen. Still waiting on the rest of the check up. God speed to whoever reads this review and considers coming here and my deepest condolences to mine and my pup's patience.

Dog is needing surgical services and like any animal owner I'd like to know a range of pricing to understand where I'm going to land. Not an exact number but a nice range with a high degree of variability. That isn't the policy here. They immediately try to schedule an appt for a "consultation" and tell you you HAVE to pay a $50 deposit for this great honor, apparently. I told her before I commit to an appt I'm trying to see between them, blue pearl, and other facilities that are through our rescue network. She said verbatim "legally I cannot disclose pricing that's a conversation after you pay your deposit and have the consultation with your doctor". What? Are you kidding me? This tells me a few things, their pricing is astronomical and they try to lock you into surgery or lose your deposit. And they can't be trusted. If you have this shroud of secrecy around a range of pricing, then you aren't who I want to consider doing business with. These people have gotten too big for their britches. I'm looking elsewhere.
