I am disabled. I have complex-ptsd and autism. I was a loyal customer for over ten years. I never had a problem, and the work was done on time and was done right. Never a problem. I've had nothing but good conversations with Hoss the owner, and his wife. I've known his son, a really good man, for years. Recently I had to have my motor mounts in my car changed. I brought the car in with a half tank of gas. After the work was done Hoss called me to tell me he couldn't take my car for a test drive because the gas tank was empty. I told him, respectfully, that I brought the car in with a half tank of gas. Hoss has some kind of mental break down and said I was accusing him of stealing my gas. He became belligerent and hung up on me. I had an anxiety attack that nearly resulted in my being hospitalizes. Imagine being treated this way by someone you trusted. When it came time to pay the bill I had his son come to my work and pick up the credit card and he paid my bill and returned with my car. The car had a half tank of gas in it. Hoss clearly has some sort of mental imbalance that causes him to attack innocent people for no reason. His son even told me that he wort work with his father because of his mental instability and explosive anger management problems. Do not patronize. The owner has anger management issues and an unstable mentality. Hoss is rude, abusive, childish and quite frankly stupid as a rock. He just ender a relationship with a ten-year loyal customer because he is too stupid to ask questions and is delusional. I never accused him of anything. His head is so far up tail end he has lost touch with reality. I had a major anxiety attack after he flipped out on me and hung up. His own son, Korosh even confirmed that the car had a half tank of gas in is. I had a major anxiety attack and was nearly hospitalized. I had to have his son pay my bill with my credit card and bring my car to me because I feared more hostile emotional abuse from this sick animal. Hoss, thank you for the abuse. If I could give this business a zero I would! I took my car in to get a diagnostic which I was charged 135 for and it wasn't taken out of the labor like most auto shops do. The owner of the shop let me know he would replace my spark plugs and it'd be 309 plus the diagnostic charge. I needed my car to be safe and fixed so I had to go through with him doing the work. He called me after changing out the spark plugs and then told me I needed either to add oil or get an oil change. My boyfriend told me that he'd put oil in the car which I told the owner. He called me back again and said that he had to put 2 quarts of oil in my car after I had already told him we'd put it in ourselves. He then told me that the car was ready to be picked up. I asked him what time they close and he said 4:30-5pm (website says 5pm) It was already 4:05 when he called and I knew I wouldn't make it before they closed so I told him I'd pick the car up the following morning. I asked what time the shop opens and he said 8am. I told him I'd be there around that time to pick up the car. The next morning I walked to the shop to pick up my car and when I arrived at 8:15am NO ONE was there. The shop was closed. I attempted to call the shop multiple times to speak to someone and no one answered. I literally waited there for 2 hours hoping that someone would come because my car was trapped inside the garage. I eventually left and periodically called that day to see if anyone would answer. The shop stayed closed. The following morning I called at 8:15am and the owner answered. I said "umm I was supposed to pick my car up yesterday and you guys weren't open" he said "I wasn't open, the car is ready to be picked up" he gave no apology or explanation of why the shop wasn't open and hung up the phone. My boyfriend and I went to pick up the car together and the total he originally gave was higher. He added the oil on that I told him we would put in ourselves and the customer service was terrible. When I asked for an explanation of why the shop wasn't open the previous day he just said he was sick. I asked why anyone else couldn't have been there to make sure not just me, but other people could pick up their cars too. I asked where his wife was and he said " she had better things to do" and then she said she was with him. They had no remorse for not being open and me not being able to get my car. He shrugged, gave a disingenuous apology and when I asked where my car was he said "it's parked where the other cars are, do you think it's in my pocket?" I was livid after that comment and let him know that he was running a VERY unprofessional establishment. If you want to deal with an auto shop that doesn't put you first as the customer, over charges, and doesn't express how apologetic they are for their neglect Midway auto repair is the shop for you! He called me the following day and asked how my car was running, probably because I said I would post a review about how unprofessional his shop was and then told a complete lie about why his shop wasn't open that he didn't even say the day I picked the car up. My apologies for the novel, but I'd hate for anyone else to go through all I went through with this owner and wife. I'd think twice, maybe even 3 times before taking your car here! read more

I needed a smog test on my 2009 Prius, and the first place I stopped had a 2 hour wait. She sent me down the street to Midway since I did not want to wait. He said sure he could do it right away. When he started testing he came to me a said it was not getting enough oxygen and told me I needed to drive it around for 10 minutes, so I did and came back and he said it still wasn't getting enough oxygen, and I needed to drive it more. So I went and drove it out on the highway for 15 miles and came back and it passed. I was very happy that he suggested driving it around more, it had been sitting for 2 months and had to be jump started that morning. He obviously knew what he was talking about. read more

My power steering rack and pinion unit was leaking..Midway auto..mechanic ordered a rebuilt unit and installed..i paid the bill in full !!! new installed rebuilt unit was defective....it was leaking !! owner tried to say it was fine, i took the car to 2 places...each one said the new installed unit was leaking.....took car back to midway auto...they agreed it was leaking !!!! after i proved it !!! I took my vehicle into that repair place and had Haas look at my brakes he came back with a quote that was higher than Chevrolet would do them for and decided to charge me for some new rotors even though mine were still good because I went in that shop and was examining my own rotors and he suddenly ran out there and said oh no those are fine those are fine and I said well then why in the world are you trying to charge me for four more l? Needless to say I took my truck right out of there and went to an honest place and had my brakes done with my same rotors on it and they did not need to be replaced!! read more

This place is not a nice place. You call to ask for a quote and they rudley refuse and hang up on you.

He overcharged me for services, for example, he charged me $60 to adjust the timing, but I only paid $30 at another place before and after seeing him. I have an older vehicle, so I was referred to them because they were in the area and had the equipment to smog check older vehicles. He overcharged on that as well; he charged another $80 for diagnostics when it failed even though I had already suggested adjusting the timing. He never diagnosed anything, and never reported what the diagnostics showed him. He just hung that extra $80 charge over the double charge on the timing adjustment, and my car ran like crap afterwards. I would have rather had it diagnosed properly, so I could take care of whatever was causing it to fail. He is a crook: unethical and greedy. read more

I went in Friday, 04/24/2015 to have my 2003 BMW Z4 smogged. Hoss checked it to see if it would pass before ever putting on the Smog machine. He told me to drive it, I came back and it still didn't fly. I ran the car all weekend, went back this morning and it still wasn't ready. My BMW mechanic gave me a procedure to follow to get the cat. converter to light up. There was nothing wrong with the car. I took it back and Hoss checked it again and it was ready. What is GREAT about Hoss, is he could have failed the car and charged me again...but he did not! Talk about and HONEST mechanic! WOW! He just earned my business for my BMW & Toyota Corolla! I went to see Hoss at Midway Auto Repair today. The company that I work for is relatively close by, so we have used Midway in the past for services, never any problems and fair pricing. Two days ago, I took the company truck to a different SMOG station (only has 55k on it) and it "failed the visual inspection" because of a pinched evap hose. The guy at the SMOG place was "nice enough" to offer me 50% off of my retest (the original was $80) after having the part replaced. When I took it over to Hoss to have the repair done, my original plan was to have him do the repair and take it back over to the SMOG place to be re-tested since it would only be another $40. When Hoss inspected the vehicle, he called me up and wondered what was wrong with the vehicle, since he saw nothing. I went over to the repair shop and pointed out the hose that the other mechanic did at the SMOG place. He examined it, and his partner came over and looked too. He showed me, and explained that there was nothing wrong with the hose. If there were, you would be able to see it (where the other guy pointed at) and also the check engine light would have gone on. I felt stupid..... But Hoss said not to worry, the other guy was obviously a jerk. He offered to do the smog for me and not charge anything for the "repair work" for what the other guy would have charged me. I thanked him, and told him that that was the last time I would take the truck elsewhere. Should have started with Midway Auto Repair in the first place. read more

This shop is the epitome of a shop that scams people - specifically women. Came in with tire problems, and apparently "new" tires were placed on my car. But within 3 weeks, one of them blew out - pretty odd for a "brand new" tire. But took it back, and they told me not to worry it and since they couldn't see a problem with the tire, it was probably defective and under warranty. They told me to come 6 hours later to pick up my car. Apparently, they "found" a catastrophic hole that wasn't visible To them in the morning. So I wanted to ensure that the tire they sold me was actually a new or used tire (given that new tires don't blow out in the middle of the road after 3 weeks). I asked them to show my invoices proving the tire was actually purchased new. They never did. Which makes me think they charged me for new tires, while throwing an old tire on. Stay away from this shop. The fill-in for the owner actually brought me to tears. read more

I noticed the front brake is making creaking noise so I came to this place to try getting them fix just because my coworker recommended me. They charged me 85 dollar for diagnosis and additional 100 dollar for all four rotors resurfacing (They say nothing about the additional charge at the beginning when you sign the paper). So I came back and told them the rear rotor was resurfaced two weeks ago, and the front one about two months ago. And the machine agreed. Then he consented that by resurfacing the front rotor will fix the noise. After three hours of waiting, I found that the braking noise still exists. A week later, the noise still exist nothing changes. I paid 135 dollar in total and got nothing fix. I came back to the store for additional assistance, the mechanic lie to me right in front of me. He claims he did rotor resurfacing on the rear rotor but not the front one. He blames me for not doing the all four rotors even though it records a front rotor resurfacing on the receipt. The owner Hoas keep lying that he is not hearing the noise and refuse to apologize nor refunded. Instead, he keep selling additional service like additional brake pad replacement. WHAT A SHAMEFUL BUSINESS PRACTICE!!!. The only mechanic who did all the work lied to you right in front of you with his vicious eyes. I would never forget that moment. You can't trust dishonesty person to do maintenance on your car where your life is relying on. I will never came back again. I would rate them -1 if i could. If you are care about your car and your life, CONSIDER before you make the decision. read more

I like this place but I have to give it an average rating for what happened shortly after I got my car repaired. Literally 5 days later, I drove home and was about to park in the space behind my house when the car started to overheat and FAST. When I got out of the car, I saw fresh drip marks and when I moved to the front of the car, on the driver's side, green liquid was spraying out. I had to go back to the shop and they apologized before fixing it (again). Everything works now but it was a little headache. read more

An oil change ended up to be $75. I walked in and made the mistake not asking how much is it. It was close and convenient, I was NOT thinking they have the nerve to ask $75. They gave me a form to sign. To put my name and my phone number on it. The rest had no details (nothing about what will be done). Then at the end, they tell you: you signed the paper. When I told them that it was not smart, you just last a costumer: you are only one person, there are many. SO! If you don't want to be going to places where they screw you all over, changing parts that you were not ask to be changed or to be told that more things are wrong with your car (They told me that air filter needs to be changed... Nothing wrong with the filter. It was not dirty or old) I would recommend an other place. Where they will not tell you that they "got you" and it is o k because you are only one customer, there are more suckers out there. When someone has this much dignity over $20-$25, they will not have a problem to do it for bigger jobs either. Most of these review seems fishy for me. This place is horrible! I took my car there cuz the AAA guy that towed my car recommended him cuz that's where he gets his cars fixed at. Since my auto mechanic was 15miles away and AAA only covers the 1st 7 miles and the rest u have to pay for the rest so I went for it. The owner Hoass said he would diagnosis my car replace the pump for $212. I called him like 3hrs later. He was like "I replaced the pump but you need a new radiator so everything would bring u to $600" and I told him okay. Then I try to check up on my car the next day he tells me that I need to not be annoying and be patient. Like excuse my French but who the fuck are you to tell me to not check up on my car when u have had it for a few days. The weekend passes and then he calls me on Monday and tells me I need a thermostats and that's gonna be an extra $85. Like if my car isn't running then how do u know the thermostat isn't working and how are you going to quote me $85 for a thermostat when I know for a fact that thermostats for my car are as cheap as $7 at autozone. So he stated yelling at me saying he wasn't going to do a half ass job on my car,even though in reality Volkswagen's are able to run without a thermostat. Overall he is rude, and money hungry. I typically try to give places the benefit of the doubt but If I could give him -5 stars I would and I'm warning everyone to not go there. read more
