Service was great! Middle aged blonde lady was good. Atmosphere was nostalgic, reminding me of the restaurants I went to as a child. Clean! For Atmosphere and service, I give it a 5. For the food and price....i give it a 1. My husband got the "Oh Boy" burger with their so called special sauce. Tasted like plain ol Mayo to me. His burger wasn't horrible but McDonalds would have been a better value. The fries were mediocre. Nothing special. My burger was a Jr Oh Boy as I didn't want two patty's. You could barely see a burger at all on mine. I ordered mine with ketchup and mustard....well that's what I got a mustard and ketchup sandwich. I used 4 napkins trying to get some of the mustard off because every time I would take a bite mustard and Ketchup came pouring out of the bottom. Right off the bat....at first bite, half my fries were drenched in ketchup and mustard. Prices are rediculous for what you get. High prices/low quality. Just go to McDonalds. This is an Elyria area restaurant that has been around for many many years. Probably thousands of young people have had the experience of working here over the years. "Ooh Boy" said most of our party. 14 of us on a Saturday night sat in back room. It cycled from frigid to sweltering back there depending on if furnace was running. Super Easy solution: add a couple baseboard heaters & temps will stay constant! Food was another matter. About half was satisfied since about half had an issue. My Patty Melt was laughable. Smallest sandwich I've seen served at an actual restaurant. At 8.69 it was a rip-off.. DQ has a burger fry sundae & drink for $7 & is comparable. The bread is likely sliced in house b/c it is half thickness of a regular slice of bread. It was over grilled like a crouton too. But the real disappointment was the minuscule amount of grilled onions hiding underneath the 1/8th pound burger patties. I also asked for mayo on it & didn't get any!! Shoulda got regular Oh boy which is cheaper, has twice the bread, ton of lettuce compared to my onion, and comes w/ sauce vs. my no mayo. Other complaints: cheeseballs were not as good since they confirmed they switched suppliers. They're actually curds now. Onion rings were overfried & really dark which was fine but they were actually not warm so they musta sat in window too long. A few liked their super OhBoys but at $13, it's an average value. Chicken wrap was a value but needed more sauce / kinda dry. Service: We asked if garden burger had chunks of veggies or a Griller type & she said no veggies but it was indeed that type. A couple other mess ups w/ missed toppings & sides & pop missing syrup rounded out the visit. read more

I am so glad this place is still around. I moved away 26 years ago but each time I come back to town I make at least 1 visit if not 2 because the food is so good and the service is still friendly and helpful. My sister and I went to Midway Oh Boy to get a burger. We sat at a table waiting for over 20 minutes. We were not greeted and no one even asked what we wanted to drink. The waitress took care of other tables but we must have been invisible. Not one even said " I'll be with you shortly". Nothing. We finally gave up and left. We wont be back read more

We came here based on a recommendation from someone saying it's the best burger in Elyria...... It's not. Burger was unseasoned and greasy. It had no flavor except for the Sweet Baby Rays bbq sauce that it was dripping in. My wife got a cup of the vegetable soup and it looked and tasted like cabbage floating in water. The service was poor and the girl waiting on us was uninterested in being there. The restaurant was pretty dirty, and our table was sticky. I won't be returning any time soon. read more

This was our first time coming to Midway Oh Boy and we absolutely loved everything about our experience. It's a very casual place with a retro diner feel. From the moment we walked in everyone was warm, friendly and welcoming. The food was fresh and fantastic.. and the entire place was very clean. The homemade chicken paprikas soup and coleslaw were sooo good and the burgers and skinny fries were deeelish! The skinny fries tasted like the Golden Arches fries did back in the day... YUM! Loved them! I happened to misplace my credit and ATM cards while we were there and they could not have been nicer... with everyone going above and beyond trying to help me find them. It's easily a half hour or longer drive for us to get here but we feel it's well worth the trip and can't wait to go back. read more

Atmosphere - if you are looking for an upscale or trendy restaurant, this is not for you. The Midway is a cross between a diner and a truck stop restaurant. However, I love these kind of places. Although there is not a much in the way of decorative or nostalgic items displayed, you will feel like you have been transported to the 50s/60s. Everything is clean and welcoming. They even have functioning jukebox! Service - you seat yourself. We have dined here twice now and had different servers. Both times we were very pleased with the service. Food - this is where the restaurant shines for me. The first time I had a cup of the chicken paprikash and it was excellent! With the paprikash, I had chicken parmigiana sandwich. The sandwich was not as impressive. The sauce was bland and the chicken was a pressed patty. The second time I had a cheeseburger and fries (they were out of the paprikash). After driving by here for 3 years, we finally stopped for lunch. The outside isn't designed to pull you in, but the inside is exactly what I had hoped it would be. All American diner with booths containing jukebox choices. The menu has lots of great choices and service is very good. I had the paprikash soup with a half chicken salad sandwich. Been there once. Food was great but the atmosphere could use some updating. Service was friendly and attentive.

Oh boy. Oh yes! Had the lake perch sandwich with onion rings, and the hubs had the pioneer sandwich and onion rings. Delish! And super wonderful service. Ended with banana cream pie. Yesterday we went there for takeout, chili dog with onions and a pizza burger. We get home and I open up my chili dog and it has strings of onions, it's falling apart and I look at the hotdog and take a bite. It was like it under a heat lamp for a week, tasted like leather and later that night I got sick as a dog. My wife's pizza burger wasn't any better. There quality of food has really gone in the toilet, I'll never go to Midway oh Boys again, save your time and money and go somewhere else. read more

My 1st time here. Got a coleslaw & the regular Oh Boy Burger. The coleslaw was too creamy AKA saucy for me. It's crunchy and tastes good, just too wet for me. Oh Boy sauce is quite good. My regular burger was a 1/4 lber. I liked it. It's a tasty burger for sure. The Bigger Oh Boy is a 1/2lb. I forgot. I got a slice of Banana pie. It is a shareable size slice. I liked it. It's been a long time since I have been here. Moved back to Ohio and drove over forty minutes to come her for lunch. It was just as good as I remember it being. I got the oh girl and wife got the oh boy and cream cheese poppers and onion rings all of which was very good. This is a great place to eat and a must visit to appreciate if you in the area!! Sevice was also very good! Place is as clean as I remember still have the mini juke boxes in each booth which is iconic although I think the radio was playing and not the juke box.
