She answered all my questions but when he came to booking the reservation she said she would call me later. never got a call back. Followed up the next day no response. Followed up on Saturday no response. Followed up Sunday no response. Called Monday no response. Finally got a response Tuesday a text message saying that they would call me later on that day I said fuck it got my Groupon refunded and bought another Groupon for Davis paintball and called got my questions answered and booked reservation hassle free. Highly recommend private parties allows girls to play amongst each other without outsiders blasting them we had our own ref and he was fantastic kept the girls on their time slot and took us to several playing fields. Had my sons bday party here today. We had 6 boys all 11 years old. They had so much fun! The staff was helpful and friendly. At one point one of the boys paintballs fell out the gun and one of the staff members noticed. He came over and said no problem we can fill it back up for you. We got a box of balls and half way through had to buy a couple more bags. Bags are pretty small and $20 each. A little pricey. But today was all worth it hearing all about it when they walked out. I grew up in the 'burbs of San Diego County, and quality paintball parks are about as common as a Lindsay Lohan court appearance. I've to been to many, and while I'm far from a seasoned shooter (pretty much the exact opposite, actually), I've been around the game long enough to tell what makes a great paintball facility from a mediocre one. Annnnnnnd, Midway certainly isn't the latter. Great people running the show, and enough stimulation to keep anyone, whether veteran or not, on their toes. Pretty sad that not only was he a single person out there WAITING to play but so were others because "teams" pretty much took over the field to play while others had to wait. After about an hour of waiting to play while the other single people still stood there and waited to play my boyfriend asked for a refund because he got no play time, even when the lady who was helping out told the ref to get him in there and still didnt. An hour and 15 minutes wasted just to stand around watching "teams" go over drills and take forever to even play. LAME someone teach them to rotate people out and split up teams please! read more

This facility has offered special deals on Groupon and Yelp but they aren't equipped to have as many guests as they've received as a result. I bought tickets from a Yelp deal which said reservations recommended. I called to make a reservation and no one would call me back. I've called them 5 times and only ever got a recorded message. If you decide to buy tickets for this place, reservations are imperative not just recommended. We drove over an hour just to find out that we couldn't play. Very disappointing experience. Horrible customer treatment (can't even call it service). Called in on Monday and gave our Living Social Voucher to 'Holly' & made reservation for Saturday. Left detailed voicemail early Thursday afternoon to confirm reservation. Heard nothing back. Took the initiative and called at 1:00 pm on Friday to follow up to the unreturned voicemail. Told that the All-Day voucher for 5 is not available because they are booked, and that we could only come for the morning session. Here's when the b.s. started. They BLAMED us for not calling earlier, then for not leaving a credit card number, then a male- the owner got on the phone and told us, "this was a case of bad parenting, because you called on a Friday for a Saturday reservation"...yes, this really came out of the 'owner's mouth'!! I played a few rounds of paintball here the other day. I really liked the front two fields, and the staff were very friendly. But the rental gear really let them down. My first paintball gun didn't shoot straight, and the barrel was very visibly warped to the left. I gave up looking down the sights. A friend who I was playing with had two different paintball guns jam two games in a row. To top it off, the 'bank' field seems to be infested with some sort of biting insects, I copped a lot of bites after getting pinned down in the last round. So I suggest repellent if you play here. read more

Fun. Fun. Fun. Even on a cold and wet and muddy as hell day, we had a blast. Maybe it's because I only got shot a couple of times this go round (only one bruise, woo!), maybe it's because the groups were smaller, maybe it was just fun to get outside and play. . . I don't know what the magic combination was, but we had a blast despite the weather. I actually think it's better to play in the cold so I can wear my snowboarding gear to protect myself instead of the next to nothing I'd want to wear during a Vacaville summer. And let me assure you - getting shot in a big puffy jacket is infinitely better than getting shot on naked skin. read more

BEWARE OF FALSE ADVERTISING! We did our sons 10th birthday here (low impact 8-10 year olds). HIGHLY DISAPPOINTING!! If I could give zero stars I would have. First my husband gets there with all the boys and they can't find our party reservation. He calls and I give him the confirmation number (it doesn't state anywhere but you are supposed to bring this with you, we found out after). He's advised that they are running behind but will make up their time at the end. Party was to run 11-12:30, they started at 11:17 and ended at 12:35. Was supposed to run 90 minutes, not sure where the time was made up?? I copied the following from their site, info listed under Low Impact Party Packages: "90 minutes of play time" - They didn't get 90 minutes of play time, when Holly called me back (because I left a message to complain), she advised that it's really only 60 minutes of play time, with 30 minutes instruction time. Um, ok, well why does the site specifically state 90 minutes of play time? "Unlimited paintballs during the party uses 50 caliber paintballs" - They only actually get 15 paintballs per kid per round. Again they explain this off as something to do with insurance and old guns only holding 15 but they have new guns now. So again, not sure why it states that it's 'unlimited' paintballs when in fact it is limited to only 15, per round. They are also apparenty supposed to get 6 rounds of play time but since they started our party late our boys only got 5 rounds. Again, as Holly stated, though their website states 90 minutes of play time it's really only 60 and our boys actually got more then that. But still wasn't allowed to complete all 6 rounds. I would say if this place actually provided what it says it does on their website then it would be worth $200 for a party, however, being that they list items that you don't really get, it's not! The only thing they give you when you complain that they are false advertising services is a bunch of excuses and reasons why it's not what's stated on the website. Why don't they change the website then? We chose this place because it seemed to have good reviews and offered more then other places. Unfortunately, they don't. They would make themselves look better if they were more clear on what you are actually paying for and not make excuses as to why you don't really get it in the end. read more

Truly an amazing operation. Midway hires the finest refs. These are teenagers who are passionate about the game and aren't jaded enough by the dumbassery of the common non-paintballing public who come out once in awhile. They make conversation and try their best to constantly have games going (there were maybe 50+ people this past Sunday and they handled it like a boss). Our ref, Cody (if i remember right) definitely deserves a shout-out for everything. Also, don't forget about the lady behind the counter (sorry i didn't get your name) - helpful, knowledgeable, and downright welcoming. There are 5 fields here, there are plenty of rentals for large parties, there is more than enough parking, and there are plenty of tables/space to chill while waiting for the next round. Much love for this place. Hopefully the next time I go, I can play a normal game of Zombies without having idiots ruin the game by not listening to instructions. P.S. I think paintball is one of those things that is good to try once, and once is enough. Had a great time here with 11 other 20-somethings. We loaded up on the vouchers (2 from Yelp and 1 from Google Offers) and were given no grief. The organization at the front is a little iffy*, but I really appreciate their dedication to safety throughout the facility. This place truly believes in "Safety First." *We asked for a private party when we reserved, but we didn't get one when we checked in. We probably should have called them out on it when they didn't ask for the extra $5 per person, but we were all new and confused. We played a couple of games with strangers and it wasn't a bad experience. We ended up paying for a private party after a few games. Everything worked out, but it would have been great if things were a little better organized so that we could have been more clear on the situation at the start. So, I recommend you make sure that everyone is on the same page at check-in. This place is really friendly and laid-back (except when you endanger yourself or others in any way). Our first ref, Mario, tried to make us feel better when we got our butts whooped by more experienced players. Our second lady ref was also pretty cool. Bring a change of clothes, especially shoes. It was raining when we went. It was so muddy. And the smell of dirt/rain/paint was so not sexy. Our masks fogged up after a few minutes. Bring a good towel or microfiber cloth. They provide a couple of communal cloths and sprays, but they got supersaturated very quickly (no thanks to the rain). Be prepared to wait several minutes in-between games if you leave the field (we had to frequently, because of the fog issue). Bring food. You will be there longer than you expect. (I thought we would get tired after 2 hours, but we were there for about 4 hours. It takes time to get geared up, recharge between games, etc.) I wouldn't mind returning to Midway if I were to go paintballing again. Big "if." There are muscles in my forearm that I didn't even know that I had, that are still sore two days later. And of course welts/bruises. Not to mention it's a pain to wash clothes/shoes after! I dont understand all the negative reviews. My friends have never played paintball and i havent played since middle school. We came here after pirchasing tickets from a fundraiser. The rental equipment did malfunction a lot but its a rental so i expected it. I heard about holly (holli?) the owner being a jerk and this place having horrible customer service but our visit was completely opposite. The staff (refs) were very nice and professional and explained to us the rules of each game in detail with a keen eye for safety. Holly acted very professional and was actually quite cheerful (other than butchering the pronunciation of my name). All in all my friends and i had a blast and will definitely return. read more

Like many others, my first time paint-balling. I made a reservation at 2PM, but due to "too many" players, there was not enough equipment for my group of four. I guess they bit off more than they can chew. So after an hour and 15 minute drive from San Francisco, we wait in the 85 degree vacaville weather.. for.. an... hour....... Sure they gave us a free drinks to help but in the end time = money. I had to arrange daycare for this outing and the wasted hour just made me a tad bit sour. The front desk mentioned they would stay late since they were an hour behind on their time.. which made me feel a little better. Our 2 friends that had a reservation at 3 had just arrived when we finally got our gear. Our gear being the helmet, gun, and paint-balls. Some other yelpers mentioned chest protection, not us! Probably because they ran out of equipment.... moving on. Once we actually get on the field, it was fun. My favorite field was the one with inflatable barriers, as the others were a bit harder to see the other players. Getting hit by paint-balls isn't the funnest thing in the world, but the guys in my group didn't seem to mind. I hated it haha. Close to 4PM (When they officially close) the referee mentions this will be the last game. I kinda scratch my head and wonder about what the front desk had said about staying late since the reservation was delayed by an hour.. I was about to mention something, but changed my mind. Whats done is done, they ran late due to lack of equipment, whatever. I do expect to paintball again, but I won't travel to Vacaville to do so. There are closer locations to SF, and the delay didn't leave a great impression on me. An hour and a 1/2 back drive to SF, we had good laughs about the experience.. but playing for only an hour just wasn't worth the commute. read more

LOVE THIS PLACE! great service, great rates. great for birthday parties and for boys in general! i went here for my boyfriend's birthday and i had a blast. i paid $35 for 5 people and $20 for each paintball bag which comes with a lot. i recommend buying 3 bags for 2 people. if you don't use all 5, you can get a card to use other times. there are 5 different play area and you get assigned groups. the groups usually go every 10 minutes or so. i recommend bringing your food like bbq and drinks, but if not there is a pretty awesome food truck that goes there. it's pretty pricey ad requires cash, so bring some! read more

I'd never been paint balling before so i didn't know what to expect. i bought a yelp deal and even though the entrance fee with discounted and we received a few paint balls- I ended up spending $100 on paint balls. Midway Paintball Facility is literally located out in the middle of no where. It's an outdoor paintball field wedge between two farms. They operate out of two shipment containers, which one is the register and the other for rental equipment. They're really strict about safety here and stress the importance of having goggles on. However, for first timers, they forgot to mention how to turn off the safety. If it's not a private party, the teams get up to around 15 vs 15. Be prepared to get slaughtered by the more experience people... Private party is the way to go when you have a good of beginners. There's about 5 fields here which range from small ones to bigger ones. The fields each have a theme such as barrel drums, wooden houses, a battle field with tanks and bunkers, and a balloon inflated structure. Since this is an outdoor field, it gets really muddy and slippery quickly if it rains. Be prepared to do some face plants into the ground or fall backwards. A change of clothes is definitely a must have when coming to this place rain or shine. This place is often on groupon so keep at eye out. read more

PRICE:: We had some $25 groupons for their $35 package. I went with a party of 14 people that played, so we had to pay about $5 extra each to make it a private party. We played about 12 games on 3 of their fields over a span of 2.5 hours. We started out with 1500 paintballs and went through what I think was 3 more boxes, totaling 4500 paintballs. But it's definitely not bad when you have that many people to split it with. The $35 package includes half-day pass, unlimited air, rentals (mask, chest pad, and gun), and 200 paintballs. $20 for 500 paintballs and $35 for a box of 1000. FIELDS:: Their X-ball field has inflatables and seemed to be a field that's good for quick battles. Make sure you have a strong offense! Their "Hyperball" field was good for strategy. It's made of giant pipes so you get a lot of coverage. You could hide more and slowly advance without being exposed for too long. It's good for capture the flag! Not sure what the 3rd field is called, but it was made up of giant vertical, wooden boxes. A few of the boxes are actually open so you could hide inside, the open end facing away from your opponents of course. That was fun to scale the perimeter and sneak up on people. SERVICE:: Our rep/ref, was extremely helpful. So was the guy that debriefed us once we got there. They're extremely helpful. Rob was pretty patient with us, waiting for us to decide what we wanted to do at some points, and they also make suggestions to help liven things up, like capture the flag, implementing a resurrection rule that you get to bring a "dead" teammate back in, zombies, or just simple elimination. thumbs down: The woman at the registration counter was fairly irritated with us in terms of taking a headcount and counting guns because one guy had to come a little later and one guy left early. She was getting pretty frustrated with us, but if you're working a public service position, it would be at the very least professional of her not to roll her eyes at us and grunt when we're talking to you. I understand why she was frustrated, but that doesn't justify letting it out ON the customers. It doesn't help anyone. Overall, we had a good experience here. Most of our group were first-timers, and I think it's safe to say we'd all come back. Tip: If you're a first-timer, I suggest wearing some layers to lessen the blow for if/when you get shot. And no worries, the paint is washable, comes out pretty easily. read more

I had gotten some coupons from Home Run San Francisco. I took my 16yo son and 3 of his friends. It was pouring rain all day, and they loved it! The staff was very hepful, friendly and accomadating to us when we came to get thd boys signed in. Us moms didn't stick around, but instead went shopping at the Vacaville Premium Outlets, which was fun, and then headed back to pick up the boys. As we pulled in we could see the boys standing under a canopy. They were drenched and they were grinning from ear to ear. The are still talking about it. They had played for 3 solid hours. We did have to buy extra bullets, shots, I am not sure what they call them, which was about $70, so that was something I didn't expect. I think they went through a total of 2500. 4 teenage boys, I guess that's normal? The boys loved it and it was all worth it in the end. We will be back, to square off with the boys. read more

This paintball facility is for the experienced paintballer.. beginners might want to take a backseat here or check out the one in Fairfield... Six large fields with everything a paintballer could ever want, goggles, Co2 refills, team colors, referees and a brief introduction to the field rules .. it is a full day affair, so be prepared for the heat and bring plenty of water! There was capture the flag, zombies and some other games that were played on the fields.. The boys had a blast, and left with some welts, wearing protective or baggy clothing is really a must, and ask for a vest they have them if you need em. We had one casualty on the field but he was fine by the time we got him home. We were lucky to get a groupon for 5, we just had to pay $20 per person for the paintballs..just don't fill the guns all the way otherwise the paintballs do not last. We ended up buying two more bags. About $155 for four kids for the day,so not a bad deal at all! All in all a great time and fun staff! Perfect for packed lunches, lot's of picnic tables and there is a market just down the road with a deli, other than that there is a hot dog stand, but you won't find much out here in the way of eating options.. read more

For 5 bucks a person for a half day of paintball, this was a steal! I enjoyed their field layouts and got enough play time that I was pretty tired near the end. With that said, there were long gaps where we were waiting for a field. Advice: - Reserve a spot for your party well in advance - You cannot bring your own paintballs if you are renting their equipment - 500 paintballs was plenty for a half day if you're a beginner - Some guns have different pressure, they have a MPH tester to the left right when you enter the field. If they gave you a weak gun, you can ask for another one! - Finally, BRING YOUR OWN FOOD. There's nothing to eat around there. read more

Considering that I've never been paint balling before and thus I have nowhere else to compare to, this place was pretty awesome. A bunch of my friends and I got a groupon for this place. Even though it was 90+ degrees when we went, we all still had a blast (no pun intended). The staff, Holly and Brian, were very nice and easy to talk to; just like a regular couple of Joe's you know. Brian was our referee/facilitator for our group. It was pretty cool because we paid for a private group and got to just shoot each other, instead of pros shooting at us. There were 4 courses that we played on: The pro course (with all the inflatable barriers), the tunnel one (with all these concrete tunnels and half tunnels to hide behind), the western one (it had a make shift post office and stuff), and my favorite the Call of Duty course (basically a bunch of huge boxes to run around to and hide behind). Brian pretty much split us into teams every session because we couldn't decide. He showed us a few games like capture the flag and the typical elimination. Overall, the staff was friendly, helpful, and genuinely awesome. I would definitely go back and hopefully this time I'll be able to zig and zag when I'm suppose to. read more

I went out to Midway with a group of new players and so I rented a gun which ended up shooting the paint out without the ball and when I went to get a new one I was asked to pay a fee by a rude lady because of their poor care for their rental guns. Also I wanted to play some airball with the gear I brought from home so I asked for their "good paint" and I got to my table with the two boxes of paint and I had the rental quality, and when I went back to get the paint I asked for I was turned away because the (clearly unopened) paint left their sight. The only OK thing about this field is that the ref I had was nice and they have an airball field. Nothing special, but at least they have one. They also have this speaker that makes the person announcing games sound like an adult out of the Peanuts, and it gives the players something to laugh about. I'm not sure what it is, but the lady up front just wasn't friendly and had this annoyed look on her face like I was wasting her time by giving her business. All-in-all I highly recommend.... I witnessed a racist encounter with the employees and presumably the owners. A black family dropped their trash. The employees became aggressive and told them to pick it up. THEY DID. THEY PICKED IT UP. And yet, the cops were called. Vacaville PD sent officers to deal with a situation that was already dealt with. They agitated the family, lots of screaming. The cops threatened the family with firearms. For littering. Disgusting. And the employees knowingly endangered that family for no reason. A disgusting establishment. Do not go. read more

I got a groupon in hopes of having a great first time experience here with my 13 year old sister. And I'm very happy to say that we had an awesome time! We got there at 9:30am, filled out our paperwork, got out rental equipment, quick rules talk, and then were off and playing by 10am. The refs did a great job pairing everyone in the right skill level games. We played until almost 3pm, mostly death match games, which was awesome because we could get bragging rights for last person standing. We did however have to change out my sisters rental gun a couple times because it was actually leaking paintballs out of the barrel or it would leak air, so their rental equipment is below par. They provide good protection gear though, the mask covers more of your head than most of other paintball places (this review is several months after I've been here). Prices here are slightly cheaper than other places too. The refs are fair and really nice, they are strict on safety and make games fun. I'm definitely coming back here with a bigger group. read more

Came here actually via yelp deal. It's a very unassuming place off highway 80 in Vacaville, and as a result had great arenas due to the empty, desert like space around it. There were 4 arenas, but we only got to play on 3. They also made you buy 500 paintballs for $20, which I had a little left over at the end of 6ish games (I'm not very trigger happy though, I prefer the '1 shot 1 kill' solution). Refs: Very chill refs; I think he saw we were 'adults' and just gave us the two basic rules: goggles on at all times past the fence area and have the guns covered. First Arena - simple balloon bunkers with astro turf. Very small. Very easy to rush the enemy team and just have an all out close quarter combat shootout. Second arena: Reminded me of the "wasteland" campaign map from call of duty: modern warfare 2. 2 starting huts at the each ends of the map with plenty of obstacles sitting on dry grass be careful not to get flanked as there are some huts for cover on the sides! Third arena: Reminded me of a beach landing. Plenty of hills so don't be afraid to get down and dirty to use those small bumps as cover, if you're on the 'beach' side. Pushing up aggressively is a must! Again, be careful of getting flanked if your players run low. Fourth Arena: ? (didn't go) Overall, I had a very positive experience and given the price, a very good time here. Just a little far from home. read more

We made a reservation and when we got there there were a ton of folks. The grouped our team of 6 with a couple of others. The only downside was that the groups were pretty large. I think we had over 20 people in our group and the space is not large enough to accommodate all those folks. The price is right, the staff is great, but the location leaves a lot to be desired. read more

Me and my brother have been going to this field and I can proudly say I have had no bad experiences. All the workers there have been nothing but nice to us. This was really fun. Being one of the four girls on the entire premise (minus the staff), I was surrounded by boys ranging from teen years to men in their 40's. Initially I was so scared because when I arrived, I saw a man with beads of sweat dripping from his face and he looked exhausted and dehydrated, to my right their was a man with an ice pack on his head, and another man sitting out with a sprained ankle. I feared that these males were going to run me over, hunt me down, and blast the crap out of me with these little paint balls. BUT it wasn't so bad. I used the living social deal, so I got half off, because I wouldn't pay $50 for a day, and the only gear they give you to rent is the vest and the mask. I honestly don't think it's really worth the cost. Fortunately a friend was well equipped and gave me gloves, knee pads, and extra layers where paint just slides right off. With my extra cushion, I was ready to shoot people. There are 5 different courses, and each one has it's own difficulties and challenge. I ended up playing about 15 games and it lasted for 3 hours with in between breaks after every three games. I would recommend that people go paintballing in the off seasons of summer, because it gets really hot, and it's easy to get dehydrated and get a heat stroke. Overall, it was a blast and I didn't get tormented being one of the only females. I wouldn't definitely paint ball again with a coupon that is :). read more

I just had a couple games of paintball today over at Midway.People might be turned off by driving up to a place like Vacaville because they feel it's in the middle of nowhere,but that makes it all the more better.The staff is completely knowledgable and really outgoing.The different playing arenas definitely are a plus.One arena has metal obstacles,another has wooden,etc.Just as long as you pay,you follow the rules and don't piss off the staff there,you're in for a good couple hours of fun. read more

So much fun! Our party of 10 got a discount for $25/person for about 500 paintballs which lasted a solid 3 hours and included the gun, goggles, and the chest protector if you request it (don't believe their lies if they say you won't get hit there!). Otherwise it would've been about $45 I believe. Make reservations beforehand if you are going to come in a big party. The great thing about having the 10 of us was that we got to play mostly against each other rather than with random strangers who spend a ridiculous amount of $$ on crazy good guns. And if we did play with strangers, it was our team against theirs. Fieldwise, they are all outdoors. One has these big funny looking red and blue plastic air inflated cones and cubes you hide behind--not too big a field but great if you're against your own group. Another one about the same size has metal cylinders and blocks instead--more places to hide. The last two fields in the back are much larger. One has wooden boards to hide behind and weedy mounds to dive behind (although the prickly weeds to hurt a little). More running around here and due to the larger space, you end up using much more ammo. The last field has "buildings" and "walls". I did get trapped in the building surrounded by the other merciless team so be careful of that if your teammates fall! It's HOT in Vacaville, especially with running around in long pants and sleeves (recommended so you don't bruise as much). And bring your own water, even coolers and snacks perhaps, since there are shaded areas to keep your stuff. read more

Midway is pretty awesome. I like the variety of fields they had here. The people and vibe here were also pretty friendly. The ref's here were also not terrible. He was obviously paying attention to the game, but at the same time he wasn't overly watching and doing paint checks. Staff itself is super nice and keeps the place going. Price is very fair. One thing about this place to keep a heads up is that the bunkers are a lot shorter than other places i've been to. We actually got to try a new game while we were there - zombies! Back for round 2 and this time, no rain! With the sun up, my party could enjoy the field as it should be in a proper way. I emailed Holli about reserving a private party and she reply within the day about the status of openings. Very helpful and accommodating! Flexible too especially when my party wasn't completely together until a couple days prior. Either way, great coordination of reservations! It was awesome to get the same ref as last time and I finally got his name right! Joaquin! Awesome ref that gave my guys ample time to prep, load and air up before every game. Very open to suggestions and always ready to help my guys out. Couple of recommendations for all players. Bring extra everything! Water, food, batteries (for electronics like hoppers and markers), and clothes for sure! This field feels pretty secluded even though there is a store a couple miles away. Oh, did I mention water? On a cloudless day, it gets warm and there aren't many shaded areas to cool you off in the field. For large groups, I recommend calling in early to reserve a private party! It's definitely more fun to tag someone you know! More mutual trash-talking. Midway is one of those rare places with friendly staff. I would come back in a heartbeat with a large group! Recommend purchasing the groupon deal when it's available. This was our second time here and this time around we did high impact. So much fun! The entire staff is awesome, great customer service. There is more than three fields to play on, we played until we ran out of paintballs. Within a 90 min timeframe, we played about 4 different games. The arenas at this place is pretty amazing, they design with tactical and general play in mind. In comparison to the one in Santa Clara this blows them away. The staff is knowledgeable and the refs are attentive and fair, because I hate seeing people with illegal kits getting away with an unfair advantage. You can rent your gear, just the air can, or bring all your own stuff. They're very flexible. Like all other paintball places you'll have to purchase the paintballs on-site or use non-staining ones. I'd come back here with a group or without since they'll fit your in wherever so you can get playing right away. Good job guys! read more
