The grinder roll was almost stale and just an odd texture / taste. The shredded lettuce on top was such a small shred that there really wasn't any crunch to it. The chicken on the bbq chicken pizza tasted rubbery. Unfortunately, the quality has gone down hill at midway and after years of ordering there I'm pretty sure we won't be again. read more

There are opposing reviews fir this place but it seemed slightly more than half were very positive so I opted to try it. I ran in this place after walking my dogs at Bluff Pt State Park. The woman there greeted me immediately & took my order. She was very nice, efficient & helpful. I ordered a 6" steak bomb. I ordered it with provolone instead of American cheese which they happily obliged. I ordered it dry (without LTM). It took a 5-6 minutes bc they fry it on the flattop & then put it in the pizza oven to lightly toasty it which was great. The sub was solidly good. They use red peppers instead of green which is awesome. (I am not a big fan of green peppers). They didn't have fresh mushrooms which was a slight drawback but the sub overall was good. I think you need to take the other negative reviews with a grain of salt. This place is a typical solidly good CT pizza sun/grinder shop. Enjoy! read more

Walked in there & the lady was sitting outside. Came in when I asked for 3 slices of pizza & didn't say a word to me. She grabbed a box off the top of the oven & used her hands put them in the small box. She stacked the slices on top of each other. I asked why she doesn't use gloves when she was just outside. If you are ordering through a food delivery service, prepare for a very long wait. All other orders will get prep priority over yours. I was picking up a simple order for a Midway Pizza customer (a grinder and a salad). Having prior experience, and therefore knowing that the wait was going to be long, I took my time before heading over. I sent confirmation to the customer when I arrived at the restaurant, and proceeded to wait. But after waiting at Midway Pizza for 20 minutes or so I had to leave because of other orders that were waiting for pickup. This caused me to have to backtrack back for the Midway Pizza order, putting me behind customers delivery times and wasting miles of my own gas. I don't think I will be accepting any more pickup orders from Midway Pizza when they come in. Time is money and time. spent waiting around for such a long time in a disorganized restaurant is unacceptable. read more

My family and I were really disappointed. They pushed back our pick up time to 40min and still got our order wrong. We felt that it's was too expensive since everything was very clearly frozen. I order buffalo wings and they had no buffalo on them at all. The pizzas were the most obvious frozen the crust was a hard and chewy all at the same time like when you microwave leftovers. We ordered fries as well, they had zero seasoning not even salt Soggy lumps of grease. The pizzas on their page on google look amazing so I know they can do better. I have been a fan of Midway pizza for decades and have always thought the fluffy sheet pizza was a piece of Heaven. It was always delicious soft and fluffy but still had a great chew in the golden end crust. Simple cheese and pepperoni perfection. Then I retired and haven't had any again in almost 10 years, last time I had any was on Midways 50th anniversary. Been disappointed every time I order local pizza and keep thinking about Midway. I live a little ways North and my wife and I decide lets go get a half sheet at Midway! Called in the order half way there to pick up still hot. I hate to say it was the worst pizza we ever had! Dough was tough and hard as cardboard and looked over cooked end crust actually scratch our gums trying to eat it! The light fluffy texture was a very distant memory and far cry from what we were served last weekend! What a great pizza!! We decided to order the special (pepperoni, sausage, meatball, peppers, onions, mushrooms). It was DELICIOUS! The crust was just the right thickness for all those ingredients. It was so crispy and crunchy. Just enough of each ingredient to taste it all. We are locals that have become newer Midway fans. Delivery service was on time and driver was very friendly. If you like buffalo chicken- DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!!!! I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap- it came by delivery and was VERY SOGGY besides that the chicken was some sort of pink, not from being under cooked but from their terrible sauce. Being cut in half, the right side of the wrap had an average amount of chicken inside of it but the left half had 3 little chunks of chicken. I'm not exaggerating, I opened it up and found soggy lettuce, nasty blue cheese dressing and a mashed up tomato. Furthermore, the buffalo chicken tenders we ordered were disgusting!! Their sauce is atrocious and should not be consumed especially if you're expecting a BUFFALO sauce not some watered duck sauce sweet and sour sauce looking "hot sauce." First time ordering, just bad. Save your money and go to McDonalds instead. $45 for two burgers and a calzone. It tools over an hour and I live three miles away. When driver got here he threw a fit bc it was "really far away" and was mad that i elected to put a tip on the bill after it was delivered per most places. Food was cold, probably because it's such a far drive. Calzone wasn't cut so I had to rip it apart. Go to McDonald's and get a burger there. Man. I was really hoping for better and was sooo excited once I found out they had Greek-style pizza!! I ordered a small pizza $8 and fisherman's/seafood platter $16. The total order for delivery was just over $27. They claim to have free delivery but actually charged ($3, I believe). The man who answered said they could make changes to the menu anytime they wanted and that it stated so in the menu. Got it. I asked for a total but the guy told me he'd call me back with it. 20 mins later- I finally received it. Opened the small pizza box- excited! Looked great even though it was wayyyyy too small for $8. Tasted pretty good but needed to be cooked longer. Would order again, mainly bc I've found NO good pizza joints in my immediate area. Now- the platter?? LOL- no matter how much you are craving seafood, do NOT order this!! It came with 3 shrimp, 3 scallops the size of marbles, 2 pieces of breaded fish just a little larger than a chicken nugget, maybe 10 clam strips and a VERY small handful of soggy, tasteless fries and onion rings. $16?!! Seriously an insult. Just look at the pics I've posted of the food before I had a bite. Overall? Might order the pizza again. Never again for the platter. Well the last review I left on this establishment was a glowing review not this time! Last night I got home late and didn't want to cook so I wanted a ham grinder and midway usually makes a good one so I ordered a large ham grinder extra tomatoes and I decided to get an order of teriyaki wings so I put the order in and it arrived about 20 minutes later. Being hungry I opened the box of chicken wings took a big bite and was rewarded with a piece of bone in my mouth not a great beginning ok on to the ham grinder now mind you this was allegedly made 20 minutes ago I was so disappointed when I was met with a soggy mess!! The extra tomatoes were yucky and fuzzy very nasty! I couldn't eat it it was that bad! If it hadn't been so late believe me I would have called them!! Nonetheless I was extremely disappointed with a 28 dollar late supper that I couldn't eat! read more

The older lady and gentleman that owns the restaurant were both extremely rude. the lady had her mask half way on and when I asked if they can make a sandwich that they used to make me years ago they were rude and snarky about it even when I said it was fine and I would order something else they continued to cut me off and keep going on about how they wouldn't make the sub. Server seemed to be really nice which is a shame because she deserves to work in an establishment where they customers don't get run out the door by rude management.
