Amazing hospitality and customer service. My parents are a little older and decided to try to use DoorDash for the first time so their food could be delivered after being out all day. After some difficulty on the app, my dad decided to call the store to pick up his food himself. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. What really stuck out to me was whoever was in charge decided to call my dad back to assist him with the app, offered to reheat his food, was very apologetic although not their fault, and kept my dad company while waiting for his order to come out. And trust me, my dad can talk! lol. The gentleman went above and beyond to make sure my dad had a good experience after such a long day and showed my dad an easier way to order for delivery in the future. For those of us who have older relatives who might not be strong with technology something like this means the world to us. Horrible horrible customer service!!!! My partner was the only one there and she arrived after the estimated pick up time... she was never greeted! Someone came over and placed our food on the counter and left. She walked over and after looking at receipt, yelled over to ask if it was our order and was told no... it was!! I have NEVER been disappointed with this place. Pizza ? Delicious. Tuna grinder? AMAZING. All grinders I've had? Perfect. THE CALAMARI IS THE BEST IVE EVER HAD. The pizza was pretty good. I ordered the Neapolitan pizza but added pepperoni on it. I will say that they are not greedy with their cheese. Which is never a bad thing. I also ordered the hot Buffalo wings which didn't have enough sauce, so disappointed with that. They were mild and they tasted ok. I love Asylum Pizza. I often order delivery which is always quick, efficient and spot on delicious. I loved them before the new management, but they surpassed the renovations. Their menu is large and filled with special pizzas. I wasn't impressed with the spaghetti pizza, but that's just me. I just prefer my spaghetti off of pizza dough. I started going to Asylum Street Pizza about a year ago when I moved to the part of the city where they are located. I have ordered takeout both via phone and the Slice app and have never once run into any issues. My kids look forward to Friday Pizza Night and love their food!! The one time my order wasn't ready on time and I had to wait, the young lady helping me apologized with not one but two desserts on the house. I told her it wasn't necessary and I totally understood they were busy but she insisted. My oldest son loves their burgers. The pizza is always really awesome, and perfectly cooked. I have to give an extra thumbs up for their Buffalo chicken pizza. It's amazingly good. The girls at the counter are so sweet and nice, and always greet with a smile no matter how busy they are. This is a scruffy pizza place in a working class neighborhood with an empty parking lot. It is less than a mile from a few dozen small businesses and offices. It does not sell slices at lunch or any other time. Person at the counter reports they can't afford to do so; they only sells pies. I don't know many people who go to lunch and order an entire pie. (If you do, I don't care; most people don't.) It makes one think they're in some other business besides food. Living near it all my life, I have tried many different pizza restaurants in the area and this one is easily one of the best. The place itself is pretty nondescript, but the pizza is an excellent Greek style, the sauce, cheese, and crust are wonderful, and the owners are very nice. Prices are also cheap. This was my first time there. My experience was excellent. The service was friendly and inviting. The owner was was outgoing and thorough making sure everything was spot on sensational. The pizza was amazingly good. The crust was crispy with just the right amount of sauce. It wasn't greasy. This is the only place I have found that can do extra cheese correctly. One star is one more than I want to give this place. The last time that I had ordered take out from here was so horrible that I will never go back. We had ordered several grinders, a salad, and a couple pizzas. The ham grinder was "toasted". To me when asked if I would like the grinder toasted, I think they are referring to the bread part of the grinder, but no, here they are "toasting" the lettuce tomato and mayonnaise ( yum yum NOT). It was a slimy disgusting mess. When I went back to get it remade, let's just say they were not very receptive. They were extremely rude to say the least. I was not nasty about it, I showed them the sandwich and said that I would like a new one with only the bread toasted and not the lettuce, tomatoes & mayo toasted. I live up the street from here. Have ordered from it before multiple times. For some reason, I went to order and the lady on the phone told me I was too far away and my order had to be over $20 because I was so far. I told her I ordered lots of times from there and no one has said I was too far. She just kept repeating "yeah I know where the street is, it's too far" After I hung up I looked on Google maps.
