First time here we got a cheese pizza and a sandwich. Staff was pleasant but food was okay.

Good old New London style pizza just as I remember it. The same family still owns it and they are lovely people. Small and cozy on the inside. No frills... just good home cooking. Everyone in my family loves the eggplant parm, but I am all about the pizza. It is Greek style and has a thick, crunchy crust. Sometimes they have homemade rice pudding for dessert. The entrees are served with fresh bread and a house salad. The house vinaigrette is the best. So many things have changed, but Ocean Pizza reminded me some things stay just the same.

Food: 4 Service: 4 Ambiance: 4 Exactly what I needed after a long trip in from nyc. Staff are sweet at servings are huge! One sandwich was enough to feed me for two days.

I am a fan of pizza. Thin, foldable New York street pizza, chewy and charry New Haven pizza, so-thick-it's-almost-a-casserole Chicago deep dish. It's all good. I was in my thirties when I moved to New England, and nearly forty when I heard of Greek pizza. So, what is Greek pizza? It is proofed and cooked in a metal pan rather than stretched by tossing and fitting into a pan. Is has a thicker crust than New York and New Haven styles, but still not a thick crust. Wikipedia describes it as "typically spongy, airy, and light, like focaccia but not as thick." It also states it is "rather oily, due to the coating of oil applied to the pan during preparation." Although the crust is not overly thick, the pizza as a whole is very dense and heavy due to the abundance of toppings. Many of the Greek pizzas I get are well over 1.5-inches, sometimes nearing 2-inches, thick. Enough about Greek pizza in general; Let's talk about Ocean Pizza specifically. Owned and operated by a Greek family, you can hear locals speaking Hellenic in booths throughout the restaurant. Anyone is welcome, of course, and you will find all kinds of people visiting. The neighbourhood is a bit rough, but inside is comfortable with numerous booths and smaller tables. The staff is super friendly and works hard to provide good service. Prices average around twenty bucks a pizza, which is a good value considering how chonky Greek pizza can be. They also have a huge menu which I haven't yet tried. Gyros, hot and cold grinders, salads, and a bunch of other things. Awesome. If you're hungry and anywhere near Ocean Pizza, please consider this awesome, delicious, and affordable mom-and-pop restaurant that works hard to please its customers.

Husband and I have been going to Ocean Pizza for years now. The people at this restaurant put a lot of love, sweat, and tears into this place. We are always greeted very well by our server. She always brings out the bread and butter. I always get the buffalo wings. Their batter is made right. Husband always gets the Chicken Parmesan. The portion on that is astronomically huge and even if you heat it the next day, it still taste great

We were in town to look at Connecticut College and after the tour we were hungry! My kid wanted pizza. I wanted seafood. Imagine my delight finding "Ocean Pizza and Seafood" on Apple Maps! This place was everything I hoped for. Huge portions and every bite delicious. The cheese pizza was great, with light spongy crust. The clam chowder had plenty of clams and flavor beyond just cream. The lobster roll was ridiculously huge, and came with fries and cole slaw. The menu went on for days. You got pizza, pasta, sandwiches, entrees... I wish I had time to try it all!

Great Greek style pizza. The place is an institution. If you haven't tried it you just don't know!

Great steak bomb calzone. I live nearby so I've always ordered takeout. Plenty of parking in the back.

I came back here after two years for a dinner and had a much different experience. My table was sat…read moretoward there back room, and the entire service was unfortunately a bit of a letdown. The waiter did not do a good job of coming to our table to check in on us, drink orders, and refilling our waters. This time I tired some of the lamb chop which was cooked well and tasted amazing for an appetizer. For the main entree this time, I had a special which was a halibut with a linguini pasta. The fish was cooked pretty good and so was the pasta (al dente) however the sauce that it was served in was quite bland. Definitely a letdown with the sauce which made me not finish the pasta. If they nailed the sauce with something savory and complimentary to the fish, this would've kept the high praise review. Overall, this experience was unfortunately a letdown with the food and staff/service, probably a bit of an unfortunate choice in meal and poor waiter for my table. Hopefully my next visit which will be in the far future is better. Food(50%): 6.5 Staff/service(25%): 4.0 Value(25%): 5.0 Overall: 5.5/10

Our friend Bob told us about this restaurant, which gets packed on weekends and at peak times…read more We all got together for dinner early on a weeknight (around 5:30p) and we had no trouble finding a table. The host and our server were were cordial, nice and friendly. We got some nice warm breads to start the meal and some free green salads that came with our dinners. The Chicken Ornella, the Chicken Piccata, the Bolognese and my wild Salmon were all very well made. Fresh tasting, homemade pastas and well prepared. For dessert we all shared a delicious Bread Pudding....YUMM.... This is a great place for a meal in New London, check it out. Free parking in the back of the restaurant. A parking lot that lead to the main dining area through a set of steep stairs. The entrance on Broad is street level.
