Wow! We should've been coming here sooner. This was our first time trying and it was delicious. We had a hot ham and cheese sandwich, hotdog with sauce, cheeseburger, onion rings, and strawberry milkshake. The ham and cheese sandwich was so good. It was fresh, the ham was sliced thin, sweet and salty. The bun was soft. The hot dogs were flavorful, and the onion rings were hot and crunchy. The cheeseburger was juicy but did have a slight unpleasant cow flavor. The milkshake was thick, sugary, and a perfect pair to the food. Curbside service was a lovely surprise for us. We visit the area often to spend time with treasured friends. And since we love a good hotdog, we decided to give Midway West Drive-In a try. I got a corndog & a chili dog, hubs got a slaw dog and a chili dog. Our order came out pretty quick and service was top notch. I wish we had a Midway drive-in near us. It's nice to be able to enjoy food in your car instead of just rolling through a drive thru. read more

This place is great! Pull up, the come out to your car, pay when your food is brought out. Fast and friendly service, and had that old drive in dinner type feel. It is an Huntington, WV staple that opened in 1939. I had their famous Midway hot dog with onion, mustard, and sauce on the bottom of the bun. They also have those classic crispy crinkle fries, cheeseburgers, & homemade milkshakes. Don't let the sketchiness of the neighborhood or the outside dumpy, run-down appearance fool you. we have been customers for years but today we were treated with such disrespect that we probably won't go back. we waited 25 minutes for two burgers and fries, saw others beside us getting the same who pulled in after us. when we questioned what was taking so long the guy angrily said he'd check. came back out, shoved the order at us and said have a nice day and started walking away. we tried to pay and he refused and yelled twice have a nice day Unacceptable!!! read more

My dad had surgery at St Mary's so I did a Huntington Hotdog sauce crawl. Midway, Frostop, Sam's and Stewart's. So much fun!!! I had never been to Midway and totally enjoyed it. Thank you for serving the area for all these years. Many towns have no local spots so what a blessing the Tri-state area has to have so many. I'm up to trying 7 hotdogs with sauce and onions now. 2-3 to go before I get to get back to Louisville in a few weeks. An older couple recommended the Beef bbq which we enjoyed. We ate here because it was suggested by a lady at my doctor appointment and it was a surprise how good it is. We got the Midway west burger, hotdog,fries, and onion rings. The fried food was cooked to perfection which is a rarity these days and the burger was the first burger that tasted like a great burger in a long time. If I lived closer I would eat here daily. Used to be a big fan of Midway. My husband and I would eat there once or twice a week. The prices had gone up considerably, but we loved the food and like to support small businesses. A few weeks ago, I pulled in close to time they were closing. I just wanted a root beer to go. I sat in my car for 10 minutes and was never acknowledged. While waiting, I noticed what I assume the cook touching his pony tail with food grade gloves on. I ended up leaving. I won't ever return to Midway. read more

They are a Huntington landmark, deep inside the city where you can drive right past and why I did year-after year-after year I can't explain. In my defense, I did hate hotdogs for a period of time. Not anymore, these are great. The chili is tasty, with no after taste, the bun and dog are perfect for a picnic in the park or eating curb side. Ever since they closed the lobby due to covid, people who don't have a vehicle don't get the same priority that people driving vehicles does. This place reminded me of when I was little and drive-ins were popular. I was surprised to find they used trays, rather than just putting the food in paper bags. Until today, March 6, 2021, I never had a hot dog from Midway. How could I live in the Huntington area and never have their hotdogs? My sister corrected that oversight and brought me two hotdogs and a large root beer. The hot dogs were warm, and most importantly, they were not soggy. They were simply quite tasty. After my cousin was born 73 years ago dad and my Uncle Clyde first went to Midway for a hot dog after the birth of my cousin Roger. Everytime Clyde visited he and Dad would travel from Wayne to Huntington to have hot dogs at Midway. Clyde said they had the best hot dogs he ever tasted. I think that it was the remembrance of the birth of his first son he was re-celebrating. I don't know for sure but, I have to admit the hot dogs were the best. 73 yrs later when I travel to Huntington I still go there for the personal curb side service and their great food. read more

I am never disappointed when I order from Midway. I placed an order online and arrived at the appropriate time it was to be ready. I waited about five minutes and the man came out to tell me my order had just shown up on the iPad. He apologized for the wait and offered us milkshakes. Big ole frown, what a disappointment. We were rv'ing and usually pick a Diners, Drive-ins and Dives place to try so this was our stop. I just don't understand the reviews. Customer service really is great though! Super friendly and apologized for being out of corn dogs. Overall it was just ok. Scraped off the slaw on the dog, made it edible. The burger was just "so what" as was the onion rings. The chili cheese fries...well glad we got it on the side. The cheese sauce must be the lowest grade nacho cheese available. The sauce? Is that watered down hormel hot dog sauce? The only good thing was the fries and the Oreo shake. Beginning to thing Guy has never had a really good hot dog as this was the second bomb on what was supposed to be great hot dogs and corn dogs (the other was in New Mexico). read more

Wow! My first time here today. The staff explained their menu. Gave me a sample of their hotdog sauce. Amazing! They told me they get their wieners from a local butcher. Very impressed. I had a diet root beer float. Philly hamburger. My first one ever! Wow! It was delicious. So yes. I recommend this place. You can eat in your car. But we wanted to go in. Loved it. It's a landmark.
