Two words: Truffle Fries! We were in town for a comic con and wanted to try the Peddler since it was walking distance from our hotel. I think everyone else had the same idea because it was packed but luckily we did not have a long wait. We could not tell if this was a restaurant or a brewery because it was set up restaurant style but they made their own drinks in house. I ordered the truffle fries and they were amazing! Some of the best pub grub I've ever had. The GOAT sauce wings were great and those duck fat fries are delicious! Wife got the pork nachos and loved them. If you're vegan or vegetarian, or just wanting to try tofu, this is one of the most disappointing places to go for it. This is the second time I tried to come here, the first time I got the tofu melt sandwich, it was a block of raw tofu with hardly any fry batter on it.. this time I got the tofu wings, same thing. The waiter tried to say , "it's because of the sauce" or it's because we have new fryers on staff " .. even sent it back and remade to to receive it was just as bad. I've been older reviews and it seems like they use to know what they were doing and just don't care anymore. The place it's self is nice, for the most part the staff seems nice, and if you're not getting tofu (which is your only option as a vegan or vegetarian) then you will probably like it. Walked in yesterday for lunch. Was greeted by men cleaning who looked like management. Sat at the bar and waited for service. Bar tender greeted me and took drink order. It was my first time here so i took several minutes to look over the menu. Finally ready to order and bar tender was on the phone taking a to go order I assume. Waited and waited and waited still on the phone taking the same call in order. Noticed he needed help during the order taking process as well. Finally I got up and left. Several other people working would have thought another employee could have helped me as lunch is usually a half hour to hour affair. Service and environment was really good. They had a great selection of beers. I'm a sour drinker and they had two sours which is surprising. Ordered the wings and had the habanero sticky. It was OK. The ranch dressing was really good. I had a burger for my meal and it was good. I think that the bun could've been crispy my mother-in-law really liked the duck fat fries. I feel like the pretzels. We also ordered that were a little bit too thick. They were really big so if you do have multiple people it might be a good appetizer. read more

Used to be one of my favorite places to eat but sadly the owner doesn't seem to care about the quality, or quantity of food since they're usually out of everything, and cares even less about the staff. They've lost SO many good staff because of mismanagement, and lack thereof, and soon they won't have any staff because it's gotten to be such a terrible place to work. I was attending a Marshall basketball game with my Dad and brother, and we decided to grab a bite to eat before the game. I was excited to check out the Peddler. We started with the duck fat fries. The fries were cooked in duck fat, hence the name lol. They were hot and tasty. And I enjoyed both dipping sauces, but the beer cheese was my favorite. I ordered the brisket sandwich and it did not disappoint. The brisket was tender and juicy! I also tried my brother's huge shepherd's pie and it was delicious! I cannot forget to mention the gouda mac and cheese. Cooked and served in a cast iron skillet, it was delightful! The service was good and I loved the decor! I would absolutely recommend the Peddler. I hosted a 20-person fan meetup on Saturday before the Candlenights 2025 show. The employees were very helpful over the phone when making a reservation. All servers were wonderful *especially Danny* who took such good care of our big group, and got us to the show on time. 1st time here ended on a bad note. Came here on a Sunday afternoon @1:30 with my Wife and 1yr old kiddo. Service was prompt in the beginning ( nothing great or bad ). Food took alittle time to arrive , everything was just as we ordered and tasty. Our kid was getting to the point when we needed to wrap things up. I was trying to get our server's attention , the place was not that busy, so we stood up with our kid who was but crying now. That's on us as parents not the staff. After standing about 5min as our server walked by several times taking care of other customers who had already been paying which I respect and waited for our turn. When he did stop and ask if we were done I said yes and presented my credit card. The server then said wait I'll be back. He did come back with out bill quickly, I again tried to give my credit card to pay but he just left the bill on the table. At this point my family has been standing about 5-8 minutes just wanting to pay up. Next I watched as our server started busting an empty table and then walk up to kitchen. I put my card back I my wallet and told my wife let leave as our kid was beyond tolerating any more waiting. Then the server sees us leaving and walks to us as we are leaving. I stopped him and said my kid has been crying and I tried to pay you 2x. The server proceeded to follow us out, I turned and said I will be back and I want to see the manager. After getting my wife and kiddo settled down outside in our vehicle I came back in to see what the staff would have to say ... The server was waiting by the register and tried to give me my bill like nothing g happened, I asked for the manger. After speaking with the manager ( who was not compassionate at all and gave me an excuse that they had had several mishaps today ) I was soullessly comped our $44. We came here on a Friday night for dinner. We were in Huntington for the Marshall Marathon. It was a little busy in here (it must be good) but we were seated without a wait. Given that it was a marathon weekend, home football game weekend, and a Friday night at a college town that's pretty good. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere. Our server was nice and friendly. You could tell that it's a college town because majority of the servers were college aged people. The wait for our food was about average. We ordered the Top Secret Burger. It was good. We also ordered the Pimento Cheese Bacon Fries Thing (I don't remember the real name for it). It was also delicious. It was fairly big--we split it between two people and still had extra after eating until we both were full. They also give you complementary popcorn (instead of how most restaurants give you complementary bread while you wait for your meal). That was unique. Overall it was a good local place. We were in search of a new spot for dinner outside of our hotel and the Peddler happened to conveniently be right across the street. It's pretty signage outside got our attention! I was a little confused at what exactly this place was at first - an arcade bar? A brewery? A restaurant? Well... It's pretty much all 3! It's best for a spot to sit down and eat at, but they do have an upstairs with a few pay-to-play arcade games. The food and drinks here are amazing. If you're a sour lover, you may be overwhelmed by how many good-sounding options they offer! I forgot the name of mine, but it was a sour infused with lemon lime gatorade and... *chef's kiss* it was so good!! They offer a lot of great food options as well, and it was really hard to choose which one to get. I ended up going with the buffalo wings and truffle fries. Oh, those truffle fries! The menu, the beers, and the space are all bold and fun. They're not afraid to try new wild things and your taste buds and stories will appreciate it. We had a blast. We arrived about 9pm on a Thursday and they were still busy cranking out food. We knew they closed at ten so we jumped right in. The menu was an amusement to read. I think every other option I was saying "what?! That's crazy and it sounds good!." Overwhelmed by the choices and distracted by beer I let my wife pick the food. She went with the cheeseburger Mac and cheese and truffle duck fat fries. She nailed it! The mac and cheese came out in a hot skillet. We both ate on one order of it and the fries and had left overs. With the secret sauce it reminded me a bit of a Big Mac. Big Mac Mac n cheese? Yes, please. The fries were also awesome. The truffle flavor isn't shy and the duck fat made them perfectly crispy. Onto the beers...I did a flight with some IPAs, a stout, and that hilariously unique Mt Don't sour. Everything was really good. Life changing! No joke, us six dudes dropped in on a last minute dinner whim craving burgers and beers to find this surf the magical nitrous root beer and peanut butter cream wave to the top of culinary art awards. Three of us managed to bite the righteous burger with banana and peanut butter, no words or deeds can properly compare to the mind bending sensation following. The taste buds tingle the mind with the entirely familiar twisted together into hilariously mouth opening in wonder trying to process what is happening. It is rich meaty goodness crowned with sweet yellow jungle fruit given the full love triangle with devious salty peanuts. I now have a new king. Second now goes the French Onion burger from my city of Lafayette, IN served at Bistro 501. But now in this West Virginia restaurant sitting next to the Ohio River, we all cannot rant and rave with ravish boyhood drama enough for The Peddler. The house made buns, beer, atmosphere, attention to detail by the staff, sending us on our way with nitrogenated root beer made in house, and now weeks later still sharing the happy memories of food fitting dreams has sealed this place as worthy of its own National Holiday. In fact our friend's family who we came to visit, they are at The Peddler this weekend. And they have already planned to eat the same again Labor Day weekend. In all my high flying steak house adventures and lowly cash only pubs from coast to coast, not even Flemings Prime Steakhouse where the check went past eight hundred in St Louis, has managed the awesome experience we had here. read more

Was in Huntington for a couple of days and this place was near our hotel. We stopped in for lunch and had a pretty nice meal. We ordered cheese curds but unfortunately they were out, so we got pimento cheese fries as a starter instead. They were really good but if you get those, you don't need to get fries with your sandwich! For sandwich I had the Limp Brisket. I maybe spelled that wrong. The sandwich has brisket (naturally!) and it was pretty good although it wasn't as flavorful as some briskets I had. It was nice and tender and easy to eat. I really have to say I loved the roll it was served on. That was super good. Service was nice and the place is clean and nice looking. I'd say this is a good place to stop in for a meal. read more

I was excited to try duck fat fries and they weren't anything special and it was just glorified shoestring fries. Prices are good and so was service. We ordered 2 flights: Cautious Granny - really good spiced Ale that was enjoyable and delicious. Brawndo: Orange - interesting concept with the electrolytes. It was good but a little too tart for me. [We did get this on the 2nd flight as well] Sweaterweather - I only got a hint of cranberries but a good wheat beer and easy to drink. Appalachian Bandito - a better version of a Corona, it was really good and had a great flavor. Light and refreshing. Jewel City One Fiddy - just a tad hoppy for a golden Ale bit still very good and light. Boggercat - I love a good brown Ale and this was delicious! I really enjoyed the small notes of caramel. Happy Hunty - pretty decent hefeweizen with good flavor. Very light and easy to drink. The food was super good and put us in a good coma. We got the Lobster Mac and cheese which was a large portion! There wasn't too much Lobster which was ablittle disappointing but still really good. We also ordered the Langostino Roll and truffle fries. Definitely recommend both!
