We recently purchased a Milano Red, Honda Fit and when I inquired about protecting the front hood and lower air dam areas they recommended I call Ross @ Midwest Autobahnd. I was impressed by Ross's product knowledge as well as his research into the various alternatives 'shields' that were advertised. So who 'shields' a Honda Fit? Well, it became clear during only 1 months driving on suburban streets and highways roads that the sloped front hood, lower air dam, and side mirrors would look like the moon's crater in a matter of months- and I didn't want that look for a new vehicle that I planned of keeping for several years- so I called Ross. I was impressed by the installation by the technician (Strapp) and his attention to detail as well as his professional attitude and politeness. Once the 'shield' was installed I didn't even notice it on my car. The coverage was comprehensive and the transparency of the film/shielding material allowed the smooth finish of my paint to shine through. I seriously didn't think it was done until I looked closely. We had the work completed in our garage and it took only 2 hours w/o any mess or cleanup. Your car is an investment/asset, and like any investment/asset you want protection or insurance for when you really need it. The Roadblock product installed by Midwest Autobahnd does that for me! I'm very happy I decided to purchase the full front end package as I do a lot of driving & because of the harsh Chicago winters. When we first got our Tesla Model 3 my husband thought I was crazy getting it wrapped with Xpel paint protection film at Midwest Autobanhd. Ross also put a scratch guard plate on the underside of my front bumper. Ross was great and is a great guy. After two years and countless scratches on and under my bumper, another high end car shop doing other work on my car confirmed that the Xpel "wrap" and the plate both saved my bumper and paint job. I brought my Tesla back to Ross and he replaced the wrap and confirmed that the car was protected by his original wrap.It looks fantastic it looks brand new. Luxury cars and Chicago road wear and tear often times don't go together. So since sitting at home because I don't want dings and stone chips on my new car doesn't really work for me, I did the next best thing and put a "shield" on my new car to help keep the paint looking new. Roadblock applies a thin film (Venture Shield is the brand name) to any areas of your car that you want protected. Hate those stone chips on the hood? Apply the film. Parallel park and end up with those scratches on your bumper from the car behind? Apply the film. Slide your golf clubs or other equipment into your trunk? Protect the edge. Apply the film. The film has a lifetime warranty and I've seen the results on several of my friend's cars and even after 5 years of road damage- their cars still look like new. You have a choice of protection levels, half the hood, the whole hood, back, etc. They were very easy to deal with and offered up several suggestions on what areas to cover and painstakingly applied the film beautifully to many areas of the car. They easily spent 7 hours working on my car and the results show their care. Ross and Cheryl were great to work with and even took the time to follow up after the application to ensure everything was okay. While the office address is on Polk, the actual garage where they do the work is at Lake and Des Plaines. When you make your appointment, they will give you the directions on how to drop off your car, etc. The cost is reasonable, given what we all pay for a car today. All in for the entire hood, fenders, bumpers, side mirrors, door guards and trunk ledge, my total bill was only about $1400. And this has a lifetime warranty. I am not a car fanatic but I do appreciate the beauty of a new car no matter whether it's a luxury car or basic transportation. You can keep yours looking better longer with this service. Ross and the MA team hooked up my new Tesla Model 3 with Scrape Armor. This has been an absolute life saver in this low profile vehicle and the land mines waiting to tear up the front of your vehicle. Recently while angle street parking the fine Chicago curb was very uneven , you my front went over curb and I was petrified that there was going to be front end damage. Lucky enough the Scrape Armor completely prevented anything from getting messed up under the front bumper. I highly recommend you get this installed to protect your fine investment. In addition they also did an amazing job with clear bra front and rear body protection with XPEL film. I was originally acquainted with Ross from Midwest Autobahnd due to a prior dealer-installed Autobahnd on a BMW when I lived in Boston. He was extremely helpful, and so I decided to go with Roadblock - Midwest Autobahnd for my new vehicle. My other vehicle had the paint protective film installed by the Autobahnd in Boston 3 years ago, so I am familiar with the product. Since I do a lot of highway driving and road trips, I hate the plethora of small chips in the paint. I was offered the paint protective film through the dealership when the vehicle arrived, but I wanted to have the paint protective film installed by someone with more experience and wanted to add additional optional coverage with which the dealership installer has little experience. I was able to choose a standard package offering with options, but I was also able to request specifics that are often not typically offered by competitors (full hood treatment, door handle protection, etc). Additionally, they perform installations for multiple dealerships, so they have significant experience with a variety of vehicles. Arranging an appointment and locating their garage on Lake and Des Plaines was easy, and I was able to wait nearby for the installation. Looking at the finished product, I have to admit that I am significantly more impressed compared to the installation done in Boston 3 years ago. Mind you, Roadblock is using a newer type of paint film, but the pieces fit so seamlessly that I had a hard time identifying protected areas. Of course, with close scrutiny you can find the faint line/edge with a partial hood treatment of any paint film, these installers were able to hide many of the edges around the front of the vehicle and around headlights. Pricing of the paint protective film depends on whether you have it installed at the dealership or directly by the installer. Of course the dealership may be more expensive and convenient, but dealing directly with the installer is almost 50% the cost. You can get significantly more coverage for the same price, especially is you decide to do something less common like full hood treatment. Ross also gave specific care instructions for the protected areas, as I either wash my own car or take it to a hand car wash for detailing. I am a fanatic about my vehicles, and am happy with the general experience of paint protective film and specifically with Roadblock. If possible, I will return with my future vehicles. read more

I just purchased my first black vehicle and travel along the expressways/ tollways 85% of my travels. I was in fear of the entire front of my vehicle being full of chips. No customer Service. I wanted to get my 600K Vehicle wrapped using Midwest Autobahnd because I used them 3 years ago on another high end vehicle. During a phone conversation with Ross the owner he agreed to meet up the following business day to go over the project to see what needs to be done. The next business day came... no contact from Ross in any form... so I asked about the status and he rescheduled for the next day. So we met the Day after the original schedule and went over the project and he told me I will receive a quote in the afternoon. Surprisingly again no contact at the given timeframe. So I needed to contacted him again the next day to get the quote. Now he requested 50% upfront payment with the explanation they are a small business and they have a tight cash flow and need to charge upfront for bigger projects (If I would chose the full package the maximum cost would be $4,825 where the biggest percentage of it is labor anyway). The day before he told me they already did thousands of cars so far. First of all why do I have to run behind a company to get a job done and second I don't think that's the way to handle returning customers requesting upfront payments when its a 2-3 day job and the payment is due on picking up the car anyway! read more
