I just went into their showroom today to ask If they could help me with new windows to meet egress compliance for a second story room. While they could help me get the window they recommended another way to get it that might be more ideal for my situation, doing my own construction/fully gutted remodel. But then Mr. Bob Hardy gave me a 30 min down and dirty Window 101 on what they are able to do. He talked about that they can replace windows but prefer not to resize the windows due to the extensive nature of bringing the structure around the window up to code compliance however can help with that if needed. They pressured me ZERO to buy from them. I learned so much. I had no idea all the ways they have of making a new window work and the cost was so much more reasonable than I thought. We were talking roughly $1,000 for replacement window , installed and everything, which seems super duper reasonable and the window looked of very high quality and built in the MIDWEST!!!! AMERICAN MADE! And that wasn't their lowest or highest priced by the way. Some of the higher end had super cool hardware that id never seen before. Super low profile and highspeed. As an active local realtor at Realty Executives in Saint Joseph ill definitely be recommending them in the future! Wow can they do cool things and way more affordable than I was thinking as I have had interactions with the By-Anderson company which seems like they charge about 4 or 5 times more than Midwest Glass and Mirror. I cant be more enthusiastic about how blessed i felt to get the low down from someone who obviously knows what they are talking about. When I consider window replacement this is where I will be going. Bless yourself and family and head in and see if they can help you too. Or if your a landlord or house flipper I'd definitely recommending stopping by to see what they can do for you. May end up making you a bunch of money with a small investment. Midwest Glass delivers poor service. I contracted with them to replace a window in the home I purchased so they came out and measured the window and provided me with a quote. Following is the timeline: 10-12-18 I gave Midwest a deposit to order the window. 11-16-18 Midwest removed current window and tried to replace with new window but the window they made was about an inch too small. They installed it anyway and told me they would have to re-order. 11-26-18 I spoke with Jean on phone and she said the window was scheduled to be delivered 11-30 to their facility and they would inspect it and call to schedule. I asked if they would be providing me with a discount since the replacement window didn't fit and cold air was seeping in around window and my heating bill was climbing. She suggested I put plastic over the window. (My thought - if Midwest put in the wrong size window, they should cover with plastic or something to prevent the leakage.) She stated she would check with the manager and let me know. 12-11-18 I spoke with Sherry and asked if the window was ready to be installed and she stated installation was scheduled for 12-13. I told her my contractor was not aware of that and she said they call the day before they install to inform the customer/contractor they will be installing the next day. (Not sure why they can't give more notice if they already know the date!) I alerted my contractor. 12-13-18 Correct window was installed. My contractor replaced trim around window. 12-27-18 I spoke with Cindy (bookkeeping) because she wanted to charge the balance on my credit card and I requested a discount (Jean never got back to me) and an invoice for the balance. Cindy responded within 20 minutes with an email for the total and said the manager would not discount the window. I would not recommend Midwest Glass for any project. read more

How disappointing our experience with Midwest! We had them build a 4 season room a few years ago & had leaking from the very beginning. First, it was from the skylights, then windows & finally around the door due to their poor construction. We kept calling & asking Midwest to fix the problems before our beautiful bamboo floor was completely ruined. They made attempts to stop leaking & we finally found out that they installed one of the skylights improperly, had rubber cushioning in backwards & did not caulk! What a disaster! When the skylights were finally fixed after multiple leaks & a ruined floor, we started having windows leaking & then rain came under the door as Midwest did not seal around door properly. Now, a few years has gone by & the subfloor was rotten due to repeated leaks. Our bamboo floor also had to be replaced. So, now we are hit with major repairs due to Midwest's shoddy work & lack of response to our repeated requests. The owner will not meet with us & refuses to accept responsibility for this fiasco. Do not even consider Midwest if you want your building done correctly! read more

The glass looked nice, but the installers were VERY unprofessional, it was wrong the first time, and took WEEKS for them to return.

So outraged. "JEAN" From Midwest Glass and Mirror has the WORST customer service skills. She REFUSED to listen to a word I had to say trying to explain a situation. SHE REFUSED to give info to contact a superior or manager, she HUNG UP ON ME while I was trying to explain that I WAS told we would have our window installed on June 1st by someone 3 weeks ago. And that unless said window was installed on or before JUNE 1ST I would NOT pay a 50% deposit. They took my 50% deposit and LIED. They never scheduled me. read more

We did business with this company to do our custom shower door / tub. We live in Chicago and they did a great job; however, recently we've had a minor issue that needs to be fixed. Lo and behold, Midwest Glass & Mirror "no longer services Chicago"...and that is their continued excuse for not making it right. It is not my problem they no longer service Chicago. They did when they installed our shower and issued the warranty (it is under warranty). They have been giving us the runaround ever since. WE have offered up options (e.g. have someone else fix it locally and they pay for it). This is always met with the "I'll have to talk with my supervisor" When we call back the supervisor is unable to do anything and the person reminds us they aren't servicing Chicago any longer. I've been unable to directly speak with a "supervisor" or "upper management." They are handling this HORRIBLY. I wrote a bad review on their FB page and again they point out they no longer service Chicago?! That is not handling a customer issue. BBB is getting notified. They are now saying (after months of this), that the issue has to be received by Community, the place in Chicago that we did business with (and to add a twist that you can't make up -- Community got bought by someone and is now Crawford Supply or something. And by the way, MIDWEST Glass & Mirror needs to rename their company. Chicago is clearly in the midwest and I know people who commute longer than the distance between Chicago and Stevensville, MI.
