Go elsewhere! I hired Universal's service department to repair my Bosch convection microwave that I…read moreoriginally purchased from them. Over two months, their technician made five repair attempts (with several late and no-show appointments), replacing part after part, leaving the unit in worse condition each time. They finally left me with an unusable appliance and Angie the service manager tried to argue that it was in better shape than when they started. They did refund me for the repair attempts but disputed responsibility for the condition the appliance was left in. Bosch later informed me that Universal was not an authorized service company despite Universal's repeated assurance that they were. When I decided replacement was the best path forward, Universal was cooperative on pricing (their sales rep Ryan was fantastic). However, upon reviewing their purchase agreement, I learned that installation and removal are performed at the customer's sole risk, and the company disclaims responsibility for any damage caused during installation or removal, including damage to the appliance or the home. Management confirmed they stand by this policy. Given my experience with their service department and these installation terms, I chose to purchase the replacement elsewhere. I'm sharing this so others read their contract carefully before proceeding.

Above all, I find them honest and trustworthy where their competitors I've used are not. They SHOULD be certified for Subzero service but there is only one company in all of California that is and my experience with that company is quite disappointing. By their service agreement (which gives them the entire state with no competition) they are SUPPOSED to deal with certain emergency issues (like my freezer stopping working) expediously and THEY couldn't/wouldn't schedule for nearly 3 weeks, their excuse being "we are very busy." Enough said?

That kind of policy ties up your money for no good reason. Every appliance was delivered on time and in perfect condition. The problem is that the serviceman mistakenly failed properly to adjust the kick-plate which prevented the door from closing, which prevented the machine from being used, and which necessitated a new appointment and waiting window. This proved to be seriously inconvenient for me. In my view, the owner, Roman, should have accommodated for his company's mistake and should that day have made arrangements for a service person to return that day. He didn't accommodate my request, requiring me to cancel a doctor's appointment previously scheduled on the first date a service person could come. Not good. Now my review, sadly, is reduced to three stars. I don't like feeling that I must give an honest review, which is below five stars. In my view, a five star review connotes perfect service. So, when the owner was apprised that the service was immediately imperfect, he should have bent over backwards to make things right on the day that the appointment occurred. Between the owner's inconvenience and mine, it's the owner who should have suffered the inconvenience on the day that things should have been right, not wrong. By this review, I'm letting him know he should have done better, way better. This is my final follow up: Igor, who's the person who mistakenly failed properly to adjust the kick plate, came out on Monday and quickly fixed the problem. He's knowledgeable and a delight. After discussing water hardness with the building engineer he change the internal softener setting, which will reduce use of salt and protect the racks from rust. He demonstrated cleaning the microfiber pores in the filter and brushed out grime deep in the hinges. I debated the cost for a certified repair shop and now I am confident it was the right choice.

To be fair, I went in pretty much knowing what I wanted after agonizing over Consumer Reports and online reviews. Waadt was the third appliance store I visited. Prices were consistent across the board. Most places didn't have demo electric ranges in store since it's low in demand, but they can order anything and seem to have direct contact with vendors. I wasn't in a hurry, so I placed my order with Bill on 2/13/26. He called me on 2/24/26 to let me know my appliances had arrived, process payment and we scheduled install for 2/26/26. I was given an install window of 9:30-11:30AM and they showed up around 10:00AM. The install guys were great. There was of course a problem, as my current range was hardwired to the electrical and there was no outlet for the new one. They said no problem, ran to the hardware store, bought the necessary supplies, installed the outlet and had me up and running. This is exactly why I didn't go with a big box store. Bill let me know his installers were equipped to handle any surprises and they were. Big box stores will only plug it in and leave. Any problems you're on your own to solve. Install prices, with the addition of an outlet, were reasonable. Would I use Waadt again? Definitely!

Even though it was quite expensive, we had gotten other estimates and LA Appliance Care was less than the others. They then sent someone to thoroughly clean the grill, which took a few days. Max then returned to do the actual repair. Both technicians were very knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend this company.
