Had smelled gas & called the gas company who said it had a gas leak & red tagged it & shut off the gas! Called Savon Appliance for my vintage 1940's? Wedgewood stove. Was referred by a friend with a similar appliance. Marsha was very knowledgeable & helpful and was able to send her tech Louis /Luis? over to me in Glendale within a couple hours!Luis was very competent, efficient & courteous. Loved that a tradesperson knows their stuff. He was able to grease the valves in the burners ( never had the unit serviced in 29 yrs) which fixed my problem. I can't believe it's taken me so long to write this review, because Savon is a go-to for me. I bought a fridge here for my first apartment, and Marsha educated us on why modern fridges are so terrible. Marsha is really the best, because she's the type of person where you can tell she's not BSing you. Years later, I bought another fridge here - not because the first fridge died, but because I moved out. That first fridge is still going strong 8+ years later with my roommate and I still have the replacement fridge 5 years in! We also bought a stackable washer/dryer from Savon, and then sold it back to them when we moved. Most recently, the washer at our new home started leaking as soon as we moved in, so we replaced it with another workhorse from Savon. Eventually we may switch over to more modern appliances, but in the meantime Marsha and Savon have been lifesavers for helping us save money and keeping these appliances out of the landfill. read more

This business was recommended to me by a mom's group located in Burbank when I was scammed after buying a used dryer on Facebook Marketplace. The Facebook dryer I purchased was $200 and worked a few times, then stopped. Savon Appliance sent a kind repairman to my home, who discovered a ton of lint in the dryer. Essentially, I could've burnt our house to the ground if he had rent repaired the dryer properly. The price is right, they also have a ton of inventory. When I ended up moving to Hollywood this month, Marsha guided me in finding the right measurements to add a used fridge to my new place for a good price. Delivery and installation was included in the already wonderful price. Because my new apartment building is a little quirky, the delivery men had to take apart the fridge and put it back together just to fit it through the door, so I made sure to tip them. My refrigerator died so I went to Savon, my now go to place for appliances. Marsh was there as before. I explained to her what size fridge I needed, and she took me over to the other room and showed me what she had. I Chose a very clean Frigidaire. Door swung open the wrong way, she informed me the hinges were made to swap over, and they would do it. It was Saturday, and they are closed Sunday. Marsha and the delivery guys worked me in so I would not have to go a day without a fridge. In fact, I was closer than their next delivery. The delivery guys cut their lunch short so they could drop it off and install it and still be on schedule. They met me at my apartment, brought it up a flight of steps and installed it, took the old fridge out with them and were out the door in 15 minutes. I have a 1950 Wedgewood stove that I love so much! After my kitchen floors were redone, the stove got reconnected and everything seemed great except I could not get the oven to warm up...I thought I would need to get it repaired...I went to the shop and Marsha gave me her card and told me she would trouble shoot with me over the phone if I could text her some photos...Sure enough, Marsha walked me through what the problem was, and my stove is working great again! My griddle was askew and it has to be lit for the oven to bake...I could not be happier!! It is great to know that there are wonderful people that are just happy to help! I can't thank Marsha enough! I only wish they were more people like Marsha and her team in this world! My washer stopped working and I had another repair person to check on it who charged me $ 65 just to tell me it's too expensive to fix it! One of my neighbors referred me to Marsha. She sent a person quickly, they didn't charge a service call, they just gave me an estimate which was much more reasonable than the other guy. When buying appliances from these guys, I think your success here lives and dies on luck. We had none. We went through two refrigerators. Delivery both times was quick, professional, and Covid-friendly, so the extra star goes straight to them. Unfortunately, our positive experience stops there. The first fridge made a "wheezing" sound that permeated our entire two-bedroom apartment and ran all the time, whereas the second one had a rattling issue with the back panel in the freezer that sounded like a loud diesel engine (it also had temperature issues, overfreezing on top, but under-cooling in the fridge section). I get that, with refurbished products, you're always taking a bit of a risk. However, there's also some weirdness surrounding Marsha you should know about (she'll be your point of contact at the store). The initial sale was smooth -- Marsha's super knowledgeable about what she sells, and in person, she's great. But for fridge one, she wanted us to call and remind her to add an ice maker before delivery (which is weird, making the customer do work for you). Then, when we asked to switch fridges, it took weeks before the next option was ready, and again, we had to call several times for updates. After the second fridge started giving us grief, instead of sending a handyman, Marsha's advice was "reset the gauges to 5 and wait", which we did to no avail. By that point I felt like we were annoying her. Since life's too short, we finally decided to just pony up and buy a new fridge, because we were tired of the roller coaster ride. The old fridge was still under a limited warranty, so we wanted to see if Savon would take it back and refund us at least some of our money (I think they charge a 20% restocking fee)... But after calling 5 times over different days, Marsha suddenly wasn't picking up her phone at all (how convenient), and we had to pay for a haul away in the end instead. Overall, not a fun time, and an expensive mistake to boot. These guys DO know their appliances, so I'm sure their repair service is top notch... Just be aware that, if you're buying a $350 used fridge from them (+tax, +water filter parts, +tip), you're also playing the lottery. We lost twice. read more

In the height of Covid-19, having your dryer die is not exactly... ideal timing. (Not that a dryer dying is ever good timing.) But we stressed over what to do, and opted to call Savon. The woman on the phone was extremely helpful, they had excellent deals on some good machines, and so my husband went in person to make the purchase. He was only inside for a few minutes, and he was the only customer in the store at the time. They delivered the dryer two days later, as promised, and were actually a little early in their arrival. My husband showed them where to go, and the employees (2) stood at a safe distance (again, I am writing this review during a pandemic- we are not jerks), and then my husband stood outside while the employees unhooked our old machine, took it away, and installed our new machine. They were in and out within 10 minutes. Totally efficient, professional, and respectful. I will DEFINITELY be coming back to Savon for any future appliance needs. read more

Marsha's candor was commendable; she straightforwardly informed me that a new refrigerator wasn't necessary as long as the freezer remained functional. I don't know the name of the woman I spoke to but she is AMAZING (Sorry Miss for not knowing your name). She told me that she did not have the part I needed but, right off the top of her head, she told me the name, address and phone number for the place that would have my needed part. Spectacular delivery guys, super friendly, accommodating, sweet, professional, and right on time. As a cautionary note, the purchase does not include any parts to hook it up. Yes, they will hook it up, "If you have the parts", communicated upon delivery. When ive purchased appliances from every other store, ive had them installed, tipped the guys $20 each, and thats it. I could start using immediately. Due to the fact that my washer was being delivered later this week, I told them not to worry about hooking it up. I tipped them, and only then did he take the parts, im assuming they intended to upsell me on, coincidentally $20, out of the tumbler. When I spoke with the owner, she offered to just give them to me, most likely because she knew I was leaving a review. And maybe, perhaps, Ive had incredibly accommodating delivery guys in the past. Very happy with my experience with Savon! Marsha directed me to the used fridges that would fit my needs and space. I put a fridge on hold a week and a half before I moved. The morning of my moving day, I called around 9 am and asked if they could deliver the fridge that same day. She said they could deliver at 1:30 pm. I couldn't believe they accommodated such a short notice delivery. The delivery people arrived a little after 1:30, and didn't make a fuss about the staircases they had to move the fridge up. I couldn't believe delivery was included in the price for the fridge ($275). I tipped each delivery person $1/stair they climbed. They plugged the fridge in and did their best to make sure it wasn't wobbly. The fridge was clean and didn't smell when it arrived. I should have called Saveon first when the bottom gasket of my 1952 GE Combination fell out from its place in the freezer door, but instead called another, random appliance repair (Saveon isn't open on Sundays, sadly, though this was no emergency and I was an idiot for not simply waiting) that had a guy come out, make the problem worse, say I needed a new fridge door and charged me $65, even though I KNEW what he had to do and told him exactly what needed to be done. I thought the job seemed straightforward that "anyone" could do if they had the tools...guess not. So today I called Saveon. Marsha is knowledgeable, honest and gets things DONE. She sent Luis out to me same day and he had the problem fixed in minutes while being friendly and COVID compliant. He also gave a detailed explanation as to why the problem had happened and how I could fix it myself if it happened again. I highly recommend Savon Appliance in Burbank. I called them at the recommendation of my plumber because there was gas odor coming from my old O'Keefe & Merritt stove. The Gas Co turned off the gas to the stove and Savon Appliance came within a few hours at the end of the day and replaced the the piece that caused the problem. The technician also helped clean the stove as he took it apart and put it back together to fix the problem. He was very thorough, knowledgeable, and so nice. A washing machine I bought a couple years ago from Savon broke down. I had a great serviceman who does fantastic work (Billy from Appliance Attack) check it out - he told me I needed a new basin and it would be more cost effective to purchase a new machine. I went to Savon and Marsha asked me what the machine was doing - she then told me it's not the basin, it's the coupling, and we made an appointment for her guy to come out a week later. When Marsha's serviceman came, he told me the same thing Billy told me a week previous - broken basin. He returned to the store to check their inventory for the part (the problem here is that the model number had been removed - located on a metal tag under the lid, it wasn't there when I bought the machine from Savon) and told me Marsha would be in touch. I called at the end of business day and Marsha told me she'd call in the morning. Having not heard from her the next morning, I called in. Marsha had me look at the machine and give her a few more details, some of which I wasn't able to retrieve. I asked why her serviceman didn't get the info he needed when he saw the unit, as my poking around over the phone wasn't getting things any closer to repairing the machine - Marsha responded to this with, "what do you do for a living, hon?" I get that she's a throwback and a bit of a kick in the pants - I appreciate that for real, but what I do for a living and any analogy that could follow is useless to the situation. I plainly informed Marsha, "that's irrelevant" and asked her how we could move forward, but she reacted very unprofessionally to being checked on this point - she doubled down, rudely pushing me on why her analogy was a must. I told her what I don't do for a living and have no expertise in - the service that her company provides... for money... which I was hoping to pay... because that's how that works. She said she didn't want to help me and hung up. Good times. I appreciate Marsha's right to refuse service, however rudely, and I reserve my right to waste more of my time writing this pissy review.
