Taylor from Super Dry contacted me after I was referred to them by Clean-Out King, a plumbing company. Taylor told me I should file an insurance claim. I told him I am not sure if my insurance will cover this, that I was not familiar with the insurance company and never filed a claim before. Taylor said not to worry, he will deal with the insurance company, and he assured me that it will be covered by homeowner insurance because this type of leak is always covered by insurance. So, I filed a claim and gave Taylor my claim number. He said he will take over from here. Couple days later, I was contacted by Alec from American Renavatu Builders Corp. He was referred to me by Super Dry. Alec told me he is a general contractor, and his job is to patch up the walls and paint them. Alec asked me to pay him the insurance deductible. I had doubt in the beginning, but he sounded very professional and assured me that is how insurance works. So, I paid him $1000 through Zelle. While I was dealing with the insurance company, I called Taylor and told him I already paid Alec $1000. I told Taylor if my insurance got declined, I want my $1000 back from Alec because I can find someone else who do can do it for much cheaper. Taylor assured me again that there is no way my claim will get declined and even if that is the case, he will help me reverse the course with Alec. I said Ok. While I was dealing with my insurance company, I got a call from David at Super Dry asking me to pay the invoice of $2600. I told him I am still dealing with my insurance company, he said he understand and told me if I decided to pay out of pocket, he can give me a cash discount and instead of $2600 it will be $2000. After two months of dealing with my insurance company, my claim was declined. Taylor asked me to send him the photos from my insurance adjuster which I did. After I emailed Taylor the photos, he no longer answers my calls or reply to my texts. Instead, David at Super Dry called me and told me based on the photos, Taylor thought my insurance would not have approved it, which obviously was a shock to me because I was repeatedly told otherwise. I said to David, I understand it wasn't their fault that the claim was denied, and it was my fault that I trusted Taylor when he said with absolute certainty that my claim will get approved. However, I was never told the scope of their work and how much they will charge if the claim was declined. I told David, Taylor should have informed me that if the claim was denied, I will have to pay $2600 out of pocket myself. I also told David about the situation with Alec from American Renavatu Builders Corp. Taylor assured me he will be able to reverse the course with Alec if my insurance got declined. However, after my claim got declined, Alec not only refused to refund the $1000, but he also refused to do any work for the payment. When I tried to call Taylor, he again never answered my calls. I told David it is not Super Dry's fault that Alec is a fraud, however before Taylor referred me to Alec, he should have told me I will need someone to patch the wall once the job is done and he should have asked me if I want Super Dry to refer someone or if I want to hire my own. David said he totally understand my frustration and asked me if I have an amount in mind. I told him I don't. I just want to be treated fairly. Next day, David called me back and said he talked to his supervisor. He said, they know I don't want to deal with Alec anymore and instead of $2600, they will knock the price down to $1500 which saves me $1000 so I no longer need to deal with Alec. The offer sounds generous, but in reality, this is not a $1000 discount, since the out-of-pocket price is $2000 and not $2600. However, I didn't say anything because I thought $500 discount was fair. Summary: 1) Super Dry as a company did try to make things right by offering me $500 discount. 2) David from the customer service is helpful and responsive. 3) Taylor as a field technician is horrible, he stopped answering my call when things went wrong. 4) The contractor they referred me to, Alec is a fraud who scammed me $1000 without doing any work. I am sure Super Dry is an honest company, but after this horrible experience I don't think I will use them again in the future. read more

On New Years Day at 3AM, I noticed a leak in my spare bedroom that was most likely due to the heavy rain. After waking up to a complete disaster of my water bursting and flooding my entire garage and the kitchen adjacent, I was referred to Super Dry by a family member who had a similar tragedy. These guys came to my house and were able to clean up the mess and dry out my home the next day. The one thing I am very grateful for was their willingness to help me with my homeowners' insurance claim. They were able to get my adjuster on the phone so I could start my claim while setting all the expectations of what came next. This was my first insurance claim, so I needed some guidance. Once they finished drying up my house and before moving their equipment out, they put me in touch with an excellent contractor who was able to build the kitchen back better than it was before the flood. I can not speak highly enough about SuperDry. My plumber recommended SuperDry when we had a pipe burst... and I could not be more appreciative! Ritchie (the owner) came by to see my water damage himself since several members of his team were out sick. He was personable and educated me on what had been going on inside my walls. He had some time before his next appointment so when my daughter expressed curiosity in the moisture meter he was using he let her experiment with it. She loved being able to trace where exactly the moisture was within our walls - it was a wonderful experience. After Ritchie had assessed the damage we worked with Jessica. She extremely professional, polite and responsive. She sent out teams to handle our dry out, pack out, mold testing and demolition. She took care of the scheduling based on my availability and made things very easy for me. Each person she sent was AMAZING and I did not have to handle a single thing. They all worked directly with my insurance. That is, they were all amazing until it came to the final step - drywall. The drywall person was the same contractor another reviewer mentioned. They conned me out of $1000, sent my insurance an estimate for 3x the actual price of the work and threatened to sue me when I fired him from the job. I was so disheartened that Superdry would send this con artist in to my home. However, I feel like Ritchie handled it the best he could. He reached out to Alec on my behalf and then he told me they'd ended their business relationship with him. They were recommended by The Family Plumber to extract water from a broken pipe that had leaked under our house. On 01/08/21, the owner Ritchie went under the crawl space himself to inspect the damage. My home insurance approved my claim and Superdry came out on 01/12 and completed the extraction and drying by 01/15. Their workers especially Zach are very professional and courteous. They also confirmed that they were damage under my kitchen cabinet which Superdry had to demo and dry the walls. This is where my the issue started. The manager, Geoff was really bad in getting back with an update. I would be patient and give them a couple days to get back to me knowing they could be just busy. But not getting back to your customers after a week or more with unanswered text or calls is very concerning and really bad customer service. I had to call my insurance co. to let them know to make sure not to pay them yet because they were not finished with the job. After few calls and text to Geoff's number I received a text from Ritchie saying Geoff was no longer at the company. Which I was glad to hear because he was aweful. Ritchie promised me he would get some his guys to demo the kitchen which they did after waiting 6 weeks with no calls or text back from Geoff. Zach and his guys came to demo the kitchen on 03/01/21. Their part was done in just a few days. However is would take another month (04/14) to have someone to rebuild the cabinets from the demo. Also found out Ritchie called someone to rebuild my kitchen that he's never used before and the job was sub contracted 3x. So Ritchie called sub-contractor 1 and he called a sub-contracotr 2 and he called a sub-contractor 3. I'm glad I am done with dealing with them completely. Be careful using them or just possibly use someone else with a more organized team. read more

Nick came out to check for water damage this past summer after we experienced a slab leak. We were smelling a strange odor in our downstairs bedroom nearby the source of the leak. Nick did a thorough sweep of the room to check for possible moisture exposure. He even checked other adjacent areas of the house for us! Luckily it didn't look like there was any reason to suspect mold, but I'm glad we got the peace of mind. Honestly, they started off really good. Communication was great with Ritchie and his staff that came for the demo and set up the dehumidifier and fans were really nice and professional. Than it all went down from there. Was not able to get a hold of them, they did not return any of my calls or text to find out when they can start the repairs. We did notice some discrepancies on the invoice that was submitted to our insurance company, items that was not going to be done such as removal of toilet and painting the bathroom door the wrong square footage for the floor. They noted that we need 180 sqft when in fact we needed 330 sqft. None the less I had to take some extra time off from work to get a couple different estimates from contractors so that they can finish what they started. read more

Why does it always seem that the biggest catastrophes happen in the middle of the night?! Our reverse osmosis filter decided to self detonate and made our first floor into an indoor swimming pool at 2am. We found a few places via Yelp but Superdry were the only ones that picked up our call at that time! Not only that, the CEO Ritchie personally came to our aide driving from Oceanside to North OC! They came and made quick work of the clean up, reassuring us every step of the way and their friendly and professional staff made subsequent trips to make sure the demo and the drying was happening. They also left the areas clean and tidy as we were waiting for the house to dry. We felt very supported and everything was taken care of for us. They came immediately and started mitigating the water damage and assessing the damage. The team came in masked up and were very kind, knowledgeable, and professional. I know that they are very conscious of their yelp reviews so I know they will see this. This company is one of the most unprofessional group of people I have had the displeasure of hiring. I first got referred to them by my plumber, they were prompt to arrive and I spoke to a gentleman named Danny who communicated everything well to me and he left by leaving his card and said he will follow up when the area is all dry. One day pass by, then another and another and I get no follow-up. I reach out to Danny and his line goes to an unknown person who doesn't know who Danny. I end up calling the SuperDry office in San Diego and I finally find out that Danny had resigned. Was no one going to inform me? Richie who is the owner said he will take care of things on his behalf but it took numerous follow-up calls and texts to finally get a crew out to take their equipment. When they arrive they find out that the de-humidifer that was originally placed is a dud and was not doing anything.... So now I had to start over with the drying process. I will say the men that came to my house (possible sub contractors) were very nice and professional. I essentially communicated directly with these subcontractors because Richie was radio-silence whenever I attempted to reach out. By this time I was so done with this company and I didn't want to work with them for the reconstruction part. Geoff calls me a week and half later seeing when they can come in to perform the reconstruction- by that time another company (Servepro) had already come in, got the estimate, gave it to my insurance and schedule to come in the next day to fix my ceiling. When you are already stressing out about water damage and the cost associated with it you do not want to deal with a company that is inept, unprofessional, uncommunicative and uncoordinated.
