Finally visited Migration Winery for the first time after hearing about it from Paraduxx staff a few months ago. The tasting room is only 3 months old, so it's brand new. Similar in style to me in some ways to Paraduxx, pretty sleek and the patio is nice and open. There are heaters for when the weather gets cooler. We had our own private tasting/the whole place to ourselves first thing in the morning, and it was a great experience. We were started out with some bubbly rosé, which was light and not too bubbly (the carbonation hurts my nose haha), then picked one Chardonnay and one Pinot Noir flight. We also got some extra little tastes from some others on their list :) I ended up purchasing a bottle of their Dierberg Chardonnay and the Drum Canyon Pinot. I usually drink a lot of cabs, so the Pinot I chose is fairly light and would be a good hotter weather wine/drinking wine. And the Chardonnay was also very refreshing, not super sweet. Also, the cheese and even the little dried cranberry snacks were SO good. I had to go buy some Manchego today to see if I could find something similar. Where is the cheese sourced from?! All in all, the wines were all tasty (which is actually saying something), the staff was wonderful and took great care of us, and it was such a cool and relaxing morning. I know they're not busy now, but I'm sure it'll pick up, and then we'll be sad since we were so spoiled on our first visit with the empty patio. I am a member of Duckhorn, so Migration is part of the portfolio. Will definitely return, partly bc it's a closer drive to San Jose, but also bc first impressions are key, and we had some very solid wines in a lovely setting. read more

This review is for a visit on June 15, 2024... the wine is always great, but this visit was not the best... the server (I forget her name) started us on our tasting and then went on break without telling us nor did she have someone assist us while she was gone. We sat for well over 25 mins with no one checking on us. Not the service I am used to when tasting there. read more

For some reason, I just wasn't a fan of the wine, but it's a very cute location with nice decor and service is pretty good! They did give cheese and crackers along with nuts which were pretty good! I do prefer the other wineries from the portfolio more, however. read more

Wow! So happy to see that the migration tasting room has moved closer to the Bay area! We visited migration when it was adjacent to Goldeneye in the past, and that was quite a drive. We were told by the team at Paraduxx to check this out and are so happy that we did. They offer two tasting options, one for Chardonnay only and one for Pinot Noir only. You can't go wrong with either choice. Today we did the Chardonnay as that was the mood we were in. The sun was shining and we felt like the light and bright flavors were just right. It is a great setting, particularly during these covid times. They have a wonderful open-air tent that provides comfort from the elements and plenty of ventilation. The service is sublime as Josh, who we knew and loved from Paraduxx, is the manager! He hired a great team and we were well taken care of. We appreciate meeting Michaela and Dan. I spent a few hours here enjoying this lovely winery. I was looking for a place that was both wheelchair accessible and dog friendly. When I first inquired about the grounds being accessible they responded quickly and were extremely thorough making sure the pathway was spacious enough for my friends chair. We booked the Pathway to Pinot experience and it was great. I would recommend this tour to anyone. My friend was able to easily get around and had no problems in her chair. The manager greeted us upon arrival with a welcome drink and we had a great time. The tasting was great and the charcuterie was delicious. We ended to buying a few bottles to take home. This winery is part of the Duckhorn portfolio and one of three property's in Napa valley that is part of the Duckhorn family. We are members at Goldeneye in Anderson valley but can taste here for free as part of our membership. The winery is beautifully remodeled, it was Starmont winery before. The staff is just awesome, Josh the tasting room manager has been taking care of us for years. All the staff is great but Max always goes over and beyond to make our tasting experiences unique and enjoyable. They offer charcuterie boards and chocolate covered fruits from Napa nut company for purchase. You get a small plate of cheese, nuts and dried fruits complimentary with your tasting. Flights start at $50, free for up to 4 if your a member. They always have open wines from there sister properties and are very generous about letting you revisit the wines you really like. I love starting our time in Napa Valley at Migration. Being a Duckhorn wine club member, by now it's easy to say your experience depends on your server. Manny was great at describing our flight and taking our taste buds on a journey through the world without leaving California. I left feeling educated and entertained by the stories and knowledge our server gave. Normally we are asked what kind of wines we like for when the bonus pours come they seemed to cater to that but didn't receive that service this time. Also, I don't remember having come the last couple times where they had the whole flight pre-served. I personally like when they come and pour a couple at a time in front of you and from there talk about each pour and give you time to enjoy. Maybe it was a busy day for them or were short staffed, but it made the experience feel rushed. The venue is bright, modern as well as spacious with indoor, outdoor and covered seating suitable for small or large groups. Well behaved dogs on leash are welcome here! Make sure to order a barkuterie board for your pup. A cute touch was her " cookie" was personalized and had a generous variety of treats she loved being able to choose from. read more

THE best experience in Napa. The wines are amazing and the team's hospitality is even better! We have been a few times and have always have the most amazing visits. This time we brought our dog and they went above and beyond to take care of him too - they even have a Barkuterie Board on the menu with awesome treats for him. Our host Gabe, was informative, welcoming and knowledgeable throughout the whole experience and made us feel just at home. We enjoyed the Chardonnay Tasting Flight and their chocolate covered fruits and even took home a bottle of their Running Creek Chardonnay! Last Sunday my wife and I went on a quest to find some good bottles of Pinot Noir for our Christmas dinner table. Our first stop was to a winery in Sonoma that we had visited previously and had a good experience. Sadly, this trip it was not so good, so we left in search of a better experience. We did not have an appointment, but we stopped at Migration in the hope they might have a seat for us. The Hostess greeted us cordially and inquired with her manager if a table was available and they seated us. We were then greeted by Josh as our host. Josh was the most compelling, enthusiastic, passionate and knowledgeable person we have met in wine country in years. I am an avid wine enthusiast and Home Winemaker since 2005 and it was people like Josh that caused me to first fall in love with wine. Three friends and I spent a couple days in Napa last week. Migration has a pretty setting and nice people, but it was not a good value in my opinion. When you reserve a seated tasting, you are charged for the pricey tasting, a 20% tip, tax, and a service fee. No tasting fees are waived for any size wine purchase. The total cost ended up being more than double what we paid at any other winery, so it left a bad taste in our mouths (no pun intended). read more

We discovered the Migration wines years ago at the Goldeneye tasting area. I was immediately captured by the Chardonnays! Told hubby, " I am definitely joining this wine club!" (A first for me!) My club instructions were only to ship Chardonnays. Perfect for a few years...then one time I received 2 Chards and two Pinot Noirs. I immediately called and they were very apologetic and offered said they would replace the Pinots with the right one. That night we grilled a steak and without knowing what was going on hubby chose one of the Pinot bottles to open. It was immediate heaven! Called them back first thing the next morning and said to hold on! We loved the Pinot too! They never said I told you so, but their customer service was and is always first rate. The wine selection was pretty small and better known whites- I believe there were only 2 red options. We prefer red wine but the limited options did not disappoint.
