I am a nurse and have been a yoga, meditation, and mindfulness teacher for almost 20 years, as well as having been a runner, cross-fitter, and weight-lifter. I've worked with some very good teachers and instructors of body/movement modalities. And the folks at 3 Elements are some of THE BEST. Each day had a challenging, yet do-able workout that was fun and safe. For every exercise, the trainers -- all friendly, professional, and clearly skilled -- offered modifications or levels or challenge in a non-competitive manner. They struck what I think is the very hard balance of encouraging good effort without pushing people to do more than they are capable of or ought to do. There was a comraderie among the group of morning regulars which, to me, speaks to the kind of culture the owners of 3 Elements have created and facilitate for both their trainers and their clients. My only complaint is that I had to leave after a week! I actually saw changes in my body after one week of working out with the 3 Elements crew. I also learned a lot that I am now incorporating into my previous weight-lifting focused workout. Thank you, 3 Elements!

First: my son trains with Nick and Jalen for football. They worked with him for a few months before football season started back up again and wow what a difference. His football coaches noticed a SIGNIFICANT improvement in his performance on the field to the point where they were asking, "what have you been doing off season?!". When setting up our first training sessions we asked for personalized training for specific positions and they delivered! Get ready to put in HARD but rewarding work! Second: My son and daughter both worked with Shelya to improve their speed, strength, fast twitch muscle movement, and endurance. These sessions had them gaining muscle and speed like crazy! All 3 coaches have been a pleasure to work with, they are kind, caring and will push your kiddo to be great! A side note: if you do not hear back from Coach Dru right away...keep trying! Worth the wait to get a spot on the training schedule!

The coaches were incredibly talented, Dru had every detail handled beautifully, and the kids had an absolute blast from start to finish. They got to create art, hammer custom metal keychains, toss chalk bombs, and dive into all the playful movement games we loved from childhood. The mix of creativity, laughter, and sunshine made it a giant success -- truly capturing the best of childhood in one joyful afternoon. There's nothing else like this, it's so unique and special. She…read morecreates meal plans, workout regimes, and intentional recovery days that thoughtfully and safely help you toward your goals. She provides a wealth of knowledge on how your body works and why you are doing what you are doing, along with supplement suggestions that never feel pushy - just tools you can choose for your toolbox if you'd like. When the going gets tough, she has an abundance of tips to make diet and workouts more palatable and is always there as a friend to commiserate and build you up. Jen leads by example at Hardcore Fitness, and has built the most caring and supportive fitness environment I have ever experienced - from the trainers through the members. This is her family business and she makes all of her members and clients feel loved like family. I recently completed a 60- day fitness challenge at Hardcore, run by Jen. I gained strength and confidence, while losing inches off my body. My favorite part of the 60 day challenge was the supportive community of other participants. People their stories, struggles, wins, tips, and support for each other both online in our group video discussions, as well as as in person at the gym. The community really keeps you engaged and focused on your goals. This experience has given me better knowledge of what my bad habits weee doing to my body and what good habits I could foster for benefits I want. I plan to keep these learnings top of mind as I head into my (new and improved) regular routine. I recommend Hardcore, Jen, and the trainers highly to anyone looking for a gym family/home. You can generally find me in a Lift class or in the Red Zone Rumble boxing class six days a week. I can't get enough of it!

I keep coming back to Orangetheory Westlake Village because it's one of the few workouts where I…read moreconsistently see results and feel genuinely supported. I've been doing Orangetheory on and off for about 10 years (started at the Northridge studio), and since moving out to the area I've been coming to this location more consistently the past few years -- and I genuinely can't recommend this studio enough. Every coach I've taken here has been great, but shoutout to Koda and Julia -- they're amazing. They're not the type to just stand at the mic and call out times -- they're constantly circulating on the weight floor, helping with form, giving adjustments, and making sure you're doing movements safely and effectively. I also really appreciate that if you stop for a second (we've all been there ), they'll check in and encourage you without making it uncomfortable. It feels supportive, not pushy -- and it helps you keep going. I've also dealt with a knee injury in the past, and I really appreciate how willing the coaches are to offer options and modifications. After my knee injury and surgery, I actually started on the bike and gradually worked my way back up to the treadmill once my doctor gave me the green light. I also love that they offer the elliptical as another option -- it makes the workouts feel really adaptable no matter where you're starting from. A lot of people mention the weights may not feel "heavy enough" if you're someone who wants to lift super heavy, but for me it's more than enough. The workout is so well programmed that I still feel challenged every time. The front desk staff deserves a shoutout too -- they are SO warm and welcoming, and they're flexible and lenient when life happens and you need help with anything. It's one of those studios where people actually learn your name the more you come, and you start recognizing the same faces in class -- it ends up feeling like a little community. Logistics and amenities are also a big plus: Easy parking, super clean studio, well-maintained equipment, two single-use bathrooms, two showers (huge if you're heading to work after), and two filtered water stations. Ambience is also just... chef's kiss. Working out under the orange lights at 5:15am hits different -- it's a whole vibe. Yes, Orangetheory is an investment, but for me the unlimited membership is worth it because the more consistently I go, the more I see and feel a real transformation. I'm doing the Transformation Challenge right now (and part of it is posting a Yelp review), but I'd be saying all of this regardless -- I recommend Orangetheory Westlake Village to anyone who asks what I'm doing for workouts. If you're on the fence, just try a class. It might surprise you in the best way.
