I requested a quote for removal of a vine on my block wall, plus some other work I wanted done. A Miguel came & said he was Miguel's son. I needed to know what the work would entail because I had to check with my neighbor since trimming the vine would impact her side of the wall. Miguel gave me some quotes. After checking with my neighbor, I called & spoke to Miguel on the phone number he gave me, to schedule. He said he'd get back to me. He didn't. I emailed him, & when he called back, he didn't remember anything about his visit or the quotes he'd given me. He actually doubled some of the figures. Recently moved into a home with plants and irrigation I wasn't familiar with and wasn't sure how to manage. Miguel was super easy to communicate with and came out quickly; he gave us some tips on certain plants, recommended an initial clean up and then gave an estimate for regular maintenance. Just completed the clean up today and it's a totally new yard in the best way possible! He and his team (sons!) were here all day and they trimmed the trees, cleaned up all the leaves, got all the plants looking great, and ensured the foliage was fire safety compliant. They also checked the health of the plants and showed us some problems with one of the trees we would have never known about. Had a great call with Joel and arranged for him to come by. I planned my day around their schedule so they can come by and give me a quote and arrange the beginning of their service. In real time, he gave me two quotes. One was incredibly absurd of which no one has ever given me.. The second cost was still pretty high in comparison to other quotes I've received, but because he seemed decent and I allowed this person in my home I wanted to Follow through and start doing business with them. After SEVERAL attempts to reach out to him, they never responded. It's incredibly frustrating to waste my time and allow someone in my yard. Not only does it lack professionalism. It leaves you with an impression that they're just scouting your property. BE AWARE!! Great work on yard cleanup which was badly needed, very reliable and swift communication.

Our wooden arbor served us well for 20 years, but recently began to fall apart and create a dangerous situation. We needed a gardener who could handle removal of thorny bougainvillea as well as the structure -- which included a heavy gate. I had previously trimmed back 2 of 3 bougainvillea plants that grew on this arbor, but the vigorous pink growth was way beyond my skill level. I spent about two hours reading NextDoor and Yelp reviews and settled on Miguel's Gardening Service. Miguel met with us at 9am and had a crew at the house a few hours later. Although he estimated the job would require a return visit, everything was gone and tidied up by the end of the day. I wasn't home most of the day, so I didn't realize until later that several of our other bougainvillea plants were also removed. I had cut them down below the fence line, but if you know bougainvillea, this only encourages more lush growth. It was an unexpected surprise and much appreciated. We recommend Miguel and his awesome crew. They'll be our first call when we get to some of our other outdoor projects. And take it from us ... never plant bougainvillea near your house! read more

We contacted several landscaping businesses but they'd either only designed yards or did major tree cutting and brush clean up and no regular cleaning/trimming. I wish I has taken a before an after photo of the job, but I completely forgot about it! Miguel was very responsive to my request and was able to get a pretty decent yard cleanup and debris toss done with a few hours. The place was completely overgrown and it was very hot, but he and his team did a very thorough job for a decent price. Extremely unprofessional. I called Miguel to get quotes to plant 3 braided ficus Benjaminas. I had explained that I'm a property manager and the service would be provided for a commercial landlord, and I can't authorize payment without an invoice. He is extremely persistent that he gets paid first before any work can be done. He called me on multiple occasions requesting his check, unforgivingly even after-hours. Note- at this point we haven't even done the estimate inspection or addressed the scope of work. This "well-reviewed" vendor literally asking for a check before doing ANY work. Would not recommend this inferior business with an unprofessional, rude owner to anyone.
