I have an odd european lock on my door and the key stopped turning. After calling a few folks I was sent here. Upon calling they had someone come out within an hour. They took out the cylinder, found a broken pin, took the cylinder back to their shop to replace it (the broken pin was smaller than any of the thousands they carry with them), brought it back an hour later along with 10 new keys. They also re-keyed the 2 other locks in the house to match the same new keys (which required raiding an old lock cylinder they had for another pin to fix one of the locks (it goes to the roof door so we never really lock it with a key from the outside). They did all this for $191 so consider me a happy customer. (The 4 stars instead of 5 is because the keys stick just ever so slightly when you try to pull them out. They claim this will pass as the keys get used. If so, I'll come back and update this review.) read more

This guy was great, think I finally found an honest locksmith in Bushwick at last yes! My front door lock was quite a mess deadbolt totally fell out as did a few screws - old and sketchy, all kind of bent and broken parts and the guy could easily have ripped me off and charged me service fee + $300-450 for a new lock as so many con artist locksmiths do and I have had happen in this neighborhood before, but Miguel's repairman was a trooper took the entire thing apart and put it back together like new only cost me $95 for the service fee, extremely reasonable as it was not an easy job and took q while, and at 8pm on a Sat. night. Can't recommend this company enough, truly excellent service put their # in your phone. :) read more

I needed a lock for an internal door at home. I read the positive reviews on Yelp so I decided to go here. The woman in the store was very friendly and helpful. She showed me how to disassemble and reassemble a particular lock. After describing my door in detail, she assured me that I would be able to install it in no time. I wanted to be sure about that, as the sale of the lock I was about to buy was final (no return). I decided to buy it. Back home, it very quickly became clear that I could not install it myself. I called the store and asked whether they could come over to install it for me. Over the phone, they told me it would cost 65 to 75 dollars. I had them come over. First, I was told that they were unable to install the lock that I had purchased in their store. Then they wanted to charge me no less than 95 dollars to install a different, cheap-looking lock instead. I refused and after some negotiations I reluctantly agreed to have the cheap-looking lock installed for 85 dollars. On top of this, I am still left with the lock that I purchased in the store. It's very disappointing to be charged much more than we had agreed on. read more

Just called this place, and had a great experience. Someone was able to come within the hour, and when he did, he changed the lock quickly and with no complications or drama. Also, the quoted price was exactly what was charged, and at the same rate as other companies I called that had long waits to make an appointment. This might not sound like much to comment on, but these days I feel like fast, efficient and truthful service is something to be praised... especially when it comes from a local business. I went to Miguel to program and cut a car key. He programmed the key fob but screwed up cutting the key, making it useless. Instead of replacing the key or discounting the damage he caused, he charged me$75.00. He said that price was a discount, even though that was the price he quoted me before starting the job. The dealer charges $55.00 dollars, so much for neighborhood convenience. read more

Miguel came over when he said he would and gave us an estimate that was lower than what we had gotten from two other locksmiths. Of the three, Miguel's was the only one that was prompt, the only one that got back to me with an estimate in a timely fashion, and the only one that gave me a detailed breakdown of the estimate.
