Will did a great job servicing my car! I'm glad I came here, and I even got a free car wash. I'd previously taken my car to the Melbourne Toyota to have my tire patched (it had a slow leak), and they told me it was a sensor issue, although I told them I had been physically checking the air and having to add more air. So where to begin, NEVER will I return to this dealership for anything!!!! They damaged and did work to my car that was never documented and when I toke my car to another dealership I was informed this work was done. I am not talking small issues, they had by back bumper painted and NEVER informed me. When I asked about the overspray told me to leave the lot and never to return.. Claim has been filed against the dealership for the damages and repairs that they refuse to fix!! Mike Erdman does not even deal with customers because he has a voice via the dealership management that does not let you voice your opinion and when you do he tells you to leave his establishment. They are friendly, professional, and do a good job. For those reasons I don't give them 1 star. They are in the business of generating revenue (obviously) and they, like all dealers, want to over service your car. In terms of maintenance schedule, read your manual. eg my Toyota factory maintenance is an oil change and tire rotation. What they would like me to do +$200 for a throttle body cleaning. I am having zero issues that warrant that expense or the extra wait at the dealership for this. Be an educated consumer or get soaked. read more

After being lied to by the salesperson while looking to purchase a Prius, I will never set foot at any Mike Erdman car lots ever. I was interested in purchasing a Prius and this location was upcharging. The sales rep stated that all the dealers were upcharging and mentioned specific competitors and upcharge amounts (up to $5k). We called one of the competitors that they named only to discover that they were not upcharging. When we purchased the Prius, we were asked who referred us, we said Mike Erdman Toyota in Merritt Island because they tried to lie to us. read more

CUSTOMERS BEWARE OF DOING BUSINESS IN THIS PLACE: I have been doing business since 2007 i have bought 3 new car from mike Erdman and get all of my service done there. So I went there to the service department for an oil change were they informed me that I had a 60 thousand mile maintenance due on Tacoma. The service representative gave me an estimate of $539.63 this included changing spark plugs and so on. So the service rep printed out the paper work; which I signed trusting the representative was honoring the estimate. When I went to pick up my Tacoma the representative presented me with a bill for $839.61. I told the service representative that I would have not done the maintenance if he would have giving me a more accurate estimate which he replied " you signed the paper work". I realized that I had fallen for a Bait and Switch. After a few choice words, I told the service Representative that I wanted to speak with a manager, the service representative told me the manager was gone for the day and the manager would call me today. I never received a call. They do not care if they lose good and faithful customers... They deserve NO STAR star.... read more

Purchased a new Tundra at Mike Erdman Toyota in 2017. I am 64 years old and have bought many new vehicles in the past, and this was the absolute worst buying experience. First issue was vibration from the cheap tires they put on my Tundra Limited. They tried everything to get rid of the vibration but would not replace the tires. Got tired of it and with 13K miles on it I put a new set of Michelins on the truck and the vibrations went away. Truck had another vibration issue, this time in the drive train and only between 40 and 45 miles an hour. Showed it to them numerous times but they only tried replacing the torque converter which did not fix it. After that they basically said we are not fixing it because we don't know what is wrong with it. I believe it has a bad transmission. Then I had a problem with a rattle in the dash. They said they did not want to open up the dash because they might open up a can of worms and create a new issue. Another issue never fixed. The truck also had other issues while under the 36K warranty. This afternoon was the final insult. When I bought the truck it had 4 years of maintenance and the last time I had it in I was told by the service adviser (Jack) that I had one more oil change. Today, I had an appointment for my last free oil change and when I got there they told me I did not have any more free oil changes so I drove away. Needless to say I would never buy another vehicle from Mike Erdman, nor would I ever send anyone there to buy a car. read more

We visited 4 other dealerships looking for a deal on 2 vehicles. A truck big enough to pull our boat and a fuel efficient vehicle to commute to and from our youngest sons school. No other dealership took the time to really hear our needs and find a way to make it work. We decided to stop in at Mike Erdman Toyota and were greeted by Speer Mabry who had so much knowledge about every one of the vehicles he showed us. He answered each of our questions and concerns and worked late into the evening to assure we were 100% satisfied with their offer. We left that evening totally satisfied with our new Prius and Tundra. Speer is an excellent representative for the delearship and his sincerity, knowledge and desire to do right by his customer is exactly what every other dealership lacked. I recently purchased a 2007 GMC Acadia with no warranty. They claim they offered me one, but if they did, it was glossed over in paperwork. The car was in great looking condition. During the test drive the salesman told us that if there is a problem with the car right away, Mike Erdman would work something out with us; that they have been in business for many years and their reputation is important to them. After the test drive, we purchased the car with that peace of mind. Two hundred miles and 3 weeks later, the transmission went. I brought the car into Mike Erdman's service manager, and he said that it was just a computer issue. I was not feeling confident in his analysis, so I took the car to a transmission repair shop. I was told that the 2007/2008 models are known to have transmission problems and he rebuilds transmissions for that particular model every week! I returned to Mike Erdman to let them know that the car needed a new transmission, with confidence they would work with me as the salesman had stated. I spoke with the salesman, the used car manager and the general manager. They all refused to split or help out with the $3500 repair. Buyer beware when dealing with Mike Erdman. read more

If your credit isn't perfection, don't expect to be spoken to like a valued customer. I worked hard to save up a lot of money to put down, got pre approved through my bank so I wasn't wasting anyone's time and Suzanne basically said that I couldn't put down the amount I wanted because they wouldn't be financing enough of the truck to make any profit. That wasn't an option for me and she spoke to me like I was a child with no comprehension of how numbers and percentages worked. She kept being up that my credit wasn't great like I should just take whatever they offer even if I can't afford it. There were false statements made and then back peddling once proven wrong each time. I really wanted the truck after months of research and I was ready to go home with it on my birthday. I walked out of that place with no intentions on ever going back. I'll never spend my money at a place that treats people that way even when they called back and offered to let me put what I wanted down. I chose to take my business and money to Daytona Toyota and I feel great about my choice and I love my new truck. I got a 4% lower interest rate and a nicer truck and was able to put down what I wanted and get the payments I wanted with the cost of the nicer truck within a few hundred of Erdman's. I'll never buy from Mike Erdman and I won't recommend them. Bad business for good people trying to spend their hard earned money. read more

Mike Erdman Toyota 1545 E Merritt Island Causeway, Merritt Island, FL 32952 Toyota Dealer Warren C. In December 2017, I purchased a new Toyota Camry from Mike Erdman. That was a painful experience. When we were close to strike a deal and agreed on the price, some sales manager interrupted our conversation and demanded that we take a loan from them. If not, the price would go up $3,000 more. We did not need financing but we took the 5% loan to get the negotiated lower price. It turned out to be a 6% interest rate, though. Signing all the documents requires about 30 signatures so when we got home we discovered that a charge of $185.50 for non-existing pin stripes was added to the bill. We contacted the salesman, Jonathan Peacock who abrasively emailed us to contact "Tommy" (no proper name, no title, no phone). I sent a long email to Brain Mayfield, General Sales Manager, describing also another issues; he responded quickly promising to take care of the most serious issues but I have never heard from him again. In early January 2018 I forwarded all the correspondence to Bill Kennedy, General Manager, Mike Erdman Toyota but to no avail. Once you leave the parking lot, they will not talk to you. Probably they laugh they ripped me off $185.500 for non-existing pin stripes. The dealership also promises on its website a few freebies to entice you to buy from them. I purchased a Camry from Mike Erdman and was forced to finance it through Southeast Toyota Finance. The "manager" said it was the only way to get the good price. The amount of the loan that I signed for was $18,791.83. Sometime after I left the dealership & before I received my first statement, the amount of the principle became $18,916.83. Upon inquiry, a Southeast Toyota Finance representative said the $125 was paid to the dealer on my behalf and, as such, was added to the loan. I did NOT authorize this "after sale" $125 transaction and, in the strongest possible terms, consider it to be fraud. The bottom line is simple: The Truth in Lending Disclosure that I signed indicates $18,791.83 as the loan amount. However, without my authorization, the loan principle was adjusted to $18,916.83. This, based on my understanding of the Truth in Lending Act, is a violation of the Federal Law. The extra $125 was never even discussed. I circled the number that was to be financed more than once. The price of the car was very fair, in my opinion, and I would have gladly paid the extra $125, as some fee, if they had discussed it ahead of time. But the way this $125 was collected smells like and is fraud. Changing terms (or arbitrarily increasing the loan amount) after closing is illegal and is protected by the Truth in Lending Act of 1968 (Consumer Credit Protection Act). As such, I've filed a formal complaint against Southeast Toyota Finance (through www.consumerfinance.gov) and was told to expect up to two weeks for further assistance. I believe the quicker way to resolve this would be to have the dealership return the $125 because this is where the charge originated. read more

PLEASE DON'T EVER HAVE ANY WORK EVER DONE WITH MIKE ERDMAN BODY SHOP!!! Here's why: I recently got my car side swiped while someone was pulling into a parking lot where i was parked. The owner did the responsible thing and wanted to fix the repairs. He was insured with Geico and I made an appointment to get my repairs done. And this is where it all went downhill. When I pulled in, the Geico adjuster Gene McGuigan was very rude in clarifying whether or not I was there to get my car fixed through Geico. Clearly someone who has no pride in his work!! Once I authoritatively informed him that I was, we got all the paperwork done and I was on my way with a rental car. I was informed that it would take about 4 business days to complete the repairs and during this time I was told by Gene that he would keep me informed about the entire repair process. Needless to say that was not at all done!! I returned to the repair shop 2 days later since I had forgotten two items in my car. Work had clearly been done to the car but it was very disconcerting to see how they were using my car seats to store all the body parts and there was bondo filler dust littered all over my seats and doors of my car. I did not say anything since I figured it would all be cleaned out prior to getting my car back - as you may imply it was not!! I did not receive a single phone call or e-mail correspondence during the repair process and only got a call when my car was ready to be picked up. Although it was not ready in the estimated time, at least it was completed in a reasonable time - 2 days later than promised. And this was when the real nightmare began. Although the actual repair was done effectively, the car had clearly not been cleaned on the inside and there was bondo filler dust everywhere. Gene communicated that Mike Erdman would clean it but it was done with such mediocrity and I had to do much of the clean up myself at home. In the process of completing the repair they damaged 2 other main parts of my car. When I asked about it they tried to say that it was like that when they had first gotten the car and that I was going to be responsible for at least half of the repair costs. As you can imagine, I was not having any of it and when I discussed the matter with Gene he began getting very belligerent in his tone to the point where I had to ask him on several occasions to lower his tone and talk to me like a professional. He finally conceded that Mike Erdman would take care of the repairs not because they had done damage to my car and they were in the wrong but because he did not want to have to deal with this issue anymore. He informed me that they would order the parts and call me back when the parts were in which would be in a couple days. A week went by and nothing happened. When I called Gene, he told me that only 1 part had arrived and that he would call when the other one arrived. At this point, I knew he was giving me the run around and I was not being taken for a fool anymore. I decided to contact his supervisor who did her job very professionally and took care of the entire situation. I had been so disgusted with the overall process that I had the final repairs done at another repair shop and was compensated as promised. Do not go through what I did. Not worth it. There are too many other body shop choices out there to choose from and companies where customer service is important and they treat you respectfully and value your time. read more

Sorry for the length, however, prior to having any work done at this dealership I highly recommend you read the following e-mail. " I do thank you for the follow-up on this matter, Jay -however, there is really not much more to say. Your Service Manager was obviously recommending unnecessary work on my Father's car ... c'mon, a new timing belt on a Toyota Corolla (one that was manufactured in Japan) after your dealership had replaced the original timing belt no more than 20,000 miles ago - there is NOTHING you can say that will convince me that this was not an attempt to fraudulently rip my father off for another few hundred dollars. Once this fraudulent recommendation was made, one can only assume that EVERYTHING this service manager recommended thereafter was likely unnecessary work - I just hope the elderly woman having her Camry worked on did not listen to him and get her Timing Belt replaced as he had recommended. My brother and I have been wrenching on cars and motorcycles for the better part of 30 years and we have seen so much fraud and so many rip-off operations during this time - much of which had taken place at very large and successful Car Dealerships! I am not saying this is the case for everything at your Dealership, Jay - in fact, I am pretty certain that your Executive Management Team does not condone deceptive sale practices - most dealerships at the Executive level run honest business models - however, all it takes is one service manager (that may be operating with a couple inside mechanics) to spoil the reputation of a dealership ... lets face it, this goes on and I am now convinced it goes on at Mike Erdman Toyota. This situation was NOT a mistake - something is going on at your shop that I recommend you deal with it in an appropriate manner. For me, and much of the world, there is no worse crime than taking advantage of our Sr. Citizens - it does not get much lower than that! Sorry Jay, you cannot make it right for my family at this point, one (or more) of your employees crossed the line, in my opinion ... knowing this, how can one any have confidence in the rest of your operations. Again, taking advantage of our Sr. Citizens is unacceptable which is why I felt it important to let Toyota know of our experience with your dealership. My father typically does not report such instances as he is an optimistic person and always willing to give folks the benefit of of the doubt and let things go - I am the same in general but, when I spoke to my father about this, it just made my blood boil. My fiancee and I get there and are met by a salesman named Leroy, who told us Gary wasn't there today but he was going to help us. He was WORTHLESS. He started off with "well I don't know much about cars" then WHY ARE YOU SELLING CARS?! Then another salesman test drove my car while wearing headphones. Then Leroy went and talked to his "manager" and came back and told us they couldn't do anything to help us and basically told us to leave.
