I wish I could give Mikey 10 stars because I totally would! He works magic - there just isn't any other way to describe his skills. So we had been searching for the perfect condo in Waikiki for 6 months in anticipation of our trip there in the beginning of 2019. Since we are based on the East Coast, we were having a lot of trouble since the good places get scooped up quick. So even though we were searching online constantly, by the time we could even get information on a place it would be in escrow. By end of the year we were super stressed out and had to push our trip back. I finally decided to find an agent on our speed and turned to my trusted Yelp community. Mikey was immediately quick to respond and you could tell he knew what he was talking about. He found us the perfect 3 bedroom condo that we had seen before but had gone off market before we could get any info on it. It literally took him a DAY to find us a place, get info on it, get out to view the place and send us tons of videos and photos. Within a WEEK, he secured a sweet deal for us. We were ready to buy so, with his help, he even managed to get us to closing early! In the meantime he helped us find a great inspection company (turned out it was one I had used before and had a good impression of), an asbestos company, and a really great renovation company that works just as efficiently as he does. He met with these guys at the condo for us and FaceTimed with us while we were there. It really helped to put us at ease about being thousands of miles away. Did I mention he is also helping us get our Waikiki condo sold quickly even though other similar units in the building have been sitting for months? We're in the process of getting an agreeable deal thanks to his professional skills and knowledge of the market. I mean to say he goes above and beyond is an understatement. He's an amazing realtor to work with, very knowledgeable and gives great advice, proactive (which is so key for us I haaaate chasing people down), is technologically savvy, is a professional photographer (takes high quality condo photos so we didn't have to hire someone separately), great with people, and extremely flexible to fit your style and time table. Mike really is good. He has an incredible attention to detail and is very organized. We found Mike here on Yelp after getting poor service from 3 other RE agents who had been "recommended" by friends and associates left us frustrated and discouraged in our hunt for a single family home near HNL. We are recent transplants from the mainland and didn't have a clue where or what to look for. But we did know this- many if not most RE agents on the island are either incompetent or disingenuous or both. After deciding to fire our 3rd agent I went to Yelp just like you are now and found all these great reviews, so I posted a note to Mike's website (Sunday evening). 30 seconds later the phone rings and it is Mike! Later that night he had a list of about 10 comps to review. The next morning he met us for more discussion and review- location, amenities, price range- then proceeded to find homes that fit that criteria. All the other RE's we dealt with kept slipping in listings that were out of our price range or location, or bugging us to share our financial situation, or trying to get us to hire one of their buddies. Not Mike, he took what we told him and ran with it. Every day he would send an update as new properties came on listing. By the next weekend we toured 3 homes and decided to make an offer on one of them. Mike coached how to phrase the offer, what to include/exclude to make it more appetizing to the sellers. From the beginning to the end of our home buying journey, Mikey made purchasing our first home as painless as possible. We originally wanted to purchase a home in a new development in Kaneohe. Within 30 minutes of sharing our interest, we'd spoken with Mikey over the phone. We recently purchased a Waikiki condo with Mike as our realtor, and we were utterly impressed with his friendliness and professionalism. Without a doubt the best realtor I've ever worked with. The process in Hawaii is fairly difficult, but he was always one step ahead of all requirements, and posted a detailed checklist that showed at a glance where we were in the process, what's done and what's coming up next. When he would send an email, he'd also send a text to make sure we got it. He responded almost immediately to any question day or night. He also provided several recommendations for inspectors and for qualified repair people based on his previous experience with them. All in all, he made it an informative and fun experience, and even arranged for us to meet the sellers (which for some crazy reason is never done here in the Aloha State, go figure). We first met him at an open house before we were officially looking to buy, yet he offered to send us automated postings for certain buildings so we could see and learn about the market ahead of time. So naturally we called him immediately when we found the perfect condo for us at an open house about 2 years later.
