I…read morehave pretty much zero experience with fishing and no experience with the wilderness and river where we fished. Mark handled everything including all of the necessary gear, permits, and training needed to have a great day. Mark is amazing at helping you learn the correct casting technique and was very patient with his coaching. I really appreciated learning about the area where we were including all of the wildlife we saw and about fish feeding patterns and how river currents work. Everything was safe and most important, fun! It's always exhilarating catching a fish but the whole experience was a gem. Cannot recommend them enough if you are new or if you have a ton of experience and just want to have an epic day! It was wonderful to be on airplane mode and just in nature, chatting about the area, and learning something new. Cost for the day is totally fair and all you need to do is enjoy.

I went out two days with Mark, both yielded amazing fishing with a scenic backdrop like no other. Turns out there was more, apparently there was a nice hatch happening, it had just started and started early. I didn't have the fly and didn't know of the hatch, but Mark did and tied some flies for our trip. The cutthroat couldn't stay off the fly! This was my sons first trip flyfishing. Mark was beyond patient and proved to be a great teacher. He caught fish after fish after fish. Such gorgeous cutthroat from beginning of the day until the end (both days). I also caught more fish than can be counted and learned so much from Mark in our two days on the water. Mark has since helped me out a lot with tips and tricks whenever I reach out. He's been great! The scenery was like the fishing -second to none. There were so many moments I had to pinch myself. I was floating through Glacier on the Flathead catching fish. Daydreaming and watching the Eagles I was fine to to just float, but no! Interrupted by another trout striking my line, time to bring it in and out the line out! Before booking, I was a little hesitant, it's not cheap to hire out a guide. However, at the end of the second day, I felt like I had actually received a great deal! This was supposed to be a once in a lifetime experience, but I've decided that I'll have to go back and do it again! Thanks Mark and look forward to the next trip!

Which was accomplished after reviving the fish by rushing water through its gills. I doubt that I will ever experience a day of fishing like this again in my life. This was my 6th trip with Howe's fishing. I have never caught less then three fish. In fact Captain Cameron and I have caught 8, 12, 16 and today 20 fish on our last 4 trips. Howe's might be a little more expensive then other charter companies in the Flathead Valle. They have the best captains, fishing gear, boats then ANYONE else. "Don't step over a dollar to pick up a quarter", the same goes to fishing. Trust me, pictures do not lie.

We rented a pontoon for 2 people and 2 dogs but it was worth it - being able to take dogs was a nice treat and no additional fee for doing so. You can't dock boats except for 2 designated areas but you can shut boat off in water and still take a dip if you want. Instructions great. Experience great. This company competitive in pricing with other rentals in area. Very clear about costs and expectations. We had a great time. Would use this company again.

I texted jason the owner he said he would take care of contacting the quide cody. (Please see text) my wife flew out on the only flight available at 630am( i couldnt get any other flights). I dropped her off and at that time 545 recieved a call from the quide Cody He asked if we were on the way. I told him i communicated with iason and he was supposed to contact him. He stated that he never called him and said it wasn't the first time. I explained why we didnt show up and he completely understood and was sorry for our father. Later that morning I went into the shop and spoke to Jason's son and another guide they said not to worry and we wouldnt get charged. I thanked them and offered cash for Cody's time. They both said no not to worry. and jPlease review the his policy states We understand that unexpected situations can lead to trip cancellations. We reserve the right to evaluate the circumstances and make refund decisions on a case by case basis. If a mutual agreement is made between the shop/guide and client due to weather state or federal closures. or other unforeseen events, the deposit will be refunded(less 7% admin and processing fee) I guess your father having a heart attack isn't unforeseen. When I went to the shop I was told they understood and we wouldnt be charged. We'll they did...the shops owner never called Cody so the guide showed up. The owner feels bad because the quide lives in a trailer. I get it I was going to pay him 250 dollars for his trouble but i was told not to worry about it. My father has past away rest his soul. We rented two fishing boats to accommodate six of us, which was perfect for celebrating a pivotal…read morebirthday weekend. We all had varying degrees of fishing experience - from beginners to more experienced fisherman - and all had a great time. Our two guides knew the area extremely well and took care of everything on the trip, which allowed us to focus on reeling in 18 fish total - all of which were trout. They even filleted all the fish for us on the boat before we left, which was very appreciated since I don't know the first thing about handling fish. In full disclosure I do not like eating fish at all, but the experience of being out on Flathead Lake with experienced guides that know the history of the land well was more valuable to me than the fish we caught. So even if you don't like fish, it's a great way to be on the water, to hang out with friends, and to learn a lot about the area. And to have such experienced guides taking care of the essentials made it immeasurably more enjoyable.

Paul's boat was well-equipped with plenty of fishing gear for trolling and jigging. They had plenty of snacks and water/pop for the entire tour. Everyone in our family of five caught some fish. We took home two nice-sized lake trout and filleted them for dinner - they were delicious! We did catch a whitefish, but it was too small to bring home.
