Dave showed up today during the service timeframe provided, and was very friendly and professional. I had several questions/concerns about our system, and he took the time to address those issues. I purchased a Nest Thermostat, and Dave did a great job installing it for us as well. The checkup went well, with only a couple issues that needed to be addressed. My air conditioner died yesterday, and because of it's age (and mine), I was dreading the service call. Will and William arrived on time and saved me. I could not have asked for two nicer technicians, very professional and respectful. Give these guys a raise, Mikey! Apparently my unit froze temporarily in yesterday's heat, and in no time, it was back up and running. Will checked all my vents and returns (several had been closed in an effort for air to reach the west bedroom; he opened them up, and then rechecked his numbers.) Everything checked out. I'm scheduled to have a whole house re-duct in a couple of days as our house was built in 1985. It's probably a little overdue. Unfortunately due to two very hot summers my A/C system originally installed by Morello acted up. I had a technician to my home immediately. The diagnosis; my drain line had clogged causing the system to not run properly. The technician taught me the proper way to clear the drain line in the future. This happened so fast that some parts were damaged. Thank goodness those parts were under warranty. The good news the repair was labor only. The initial technician very friendly and very knowledgeable. He was able to use a temporary part to keep my home cool until the new parts became available. The parts were ordered and were made available in a few days at which time Morello scheduled the job completion. The technician arrived and completed the upgrade and repair in about 30 minutes. On their recommendation I also purchased a one year maintenance contract whereas they will come to inspect the system two times every six months. It's like an auto mechanic who says, "Don't change your oil, pay me now or pay me later." The overall labor charge very reasonable and to be expected. read more

This company did a bad install on my AC unit. The vents drip water (new construction). Every time I call them they immediately put me on hold. Every 5 minutes of being on hold they get on the line real quick and then put me on hold again without saying a word. Guessing they do that because their hold times are being tracked by a computer. AVOID this company if you actually care about having things done right. The fact that you can't even get ahold of them is completely unprofessional. I have been a faithful customer of Mike Morello's heating and a/c since moving to Flagler Beach and have been pleased in the past, but no longer. Jack, a technician, was sent to check my a/c and why it was not cooling. Jack was not only rude and disrespectful, but ignored my questions about the a/c and refused to take the panel off around the a/c to better check it. Our Central Air quit and our regular service man said it was a leak, added gas for $375 and it ran for 2 days and quit again. We asked a few of our neighbors who they used and got a resounding, "Mike Morello, Inc...They're the best!" So we called Mike Morello and they bent over backward to help. They sent a very nice, knowledgeable tech who added enough gas to get us through waiting for our new unit. The emergency visit and gas was just over $100. The office called us several times to make sure we were OK during a hot spell and to assure us we would be taken care of quickly. Called today and was advised as of April they no longer offered this labor contract. My friend went with another company and they had an eight year labor contract for $800.00. We have used Mike Morello, Inc for over 20 years; the company has been prompt to arrive, even after hours and on weekends. And the work has always been satisfactory. I often felt their prices were on the high side, but did not have anything to compare; and, my AC was working, so I was happy. Recently my AC went out; I called Morello and they responded quickly (even though it was a weekend); the tech advised my thermostat was the problem. He said he had a replacement in his van, and could install the new thermostat right away. I said "go to it!" Shortly, I was in business. I signed the bill and relaxed in the cool comfort. But then I got the bill: here's the breakdown: "diagnostic--$49.00, non-programmable thermostat--$175.00; total $224.00. This seemed high, so I shopped Home Depot, Lowe's, and Amazon; average price--$50 !!! I will look more closely in the future. read more

I would like you all to know of the horrific customer service I received from this company. We had a whole house dehumidifier installed a couple years ago and it didn't work, so they installed a brand new unit under warranty. Sounds good, except the new unit didn't work either. Since they are about an hour and a half drive from my house, I tried to save Morello a costly trip and had my normal hvac guy look at it while he was doing normal maintenance on my a/c. I tried to get the Morello installer on the phone to chat with my guy to see if it was something simple. The Morello people said the installer no longer works there and no one could chat, but that they could send someone out. I suggested since my guy was here, have him take a look at it. He found that it was installed (wired) incorrectly, and he rewired it and TESTED it to make sure it worked. I paid him $100 and asked Morello for a reimbursement for the $100 since it would have cost them way more than that for 3 hours of drive time plus repair time. Morello not only refused the $100 reimbursement, they VOIDED my warranty since my guy fixed the dehumidifier that NEVER worked since Morello didn't install it correctly and didn't test that it actually ran. If your looking for good technicians or good customer service, I suggest that you look to other than Mike Morello's hvac company. I am appalled and plan to let all reviewing companies know what happened. If I could rate ZERO stars, I would. read more

We had our AC die on a Sunday afternoon, unit was not cooling the house. I called the after hours number they called back in 15 min or so. A repair person was dispatched and hear in an hour or so ( he was in the area which helped) , he found the issue and fixed it in no time fiat. Very disappointing service. I have had technicians from Morello's service my clogged AC drain line 2x in the past 13 months. As this is a new build and they installed the AC system, I felt Morello would be the one to call. The first service call was 2 months after I purchased the house; the second time was this past July. In September the line began clogging up again. I put vinegar in the drain line and used the shop vac as directed by the Morello technician. By mid-September, I had to clear out water at least weekly. It got to the point that I was shop vac- ing it 3-4 times a day. I contacted another AC company to assess the problem. This technician quickly cleaned out the clog and said that the technician who came out in July (from Morello) did not completely clean out the clog. When I contacted Morello, I was informed that they only warranty their work on clogged lines for 1 month as "lines can clog really quickly". She even stated that if I would have gotten the service contract, they would have been able to "watch it". I am not new to ACs and clogged lines or new to FL heat and the impact on lines. I have never seen or heard of any system clogging up so fast. The dispatcher did not offer to refund any of the money that I have paid; no apologies were offered. I will never call them again. In addition, I will contact my builder to inform them of the unprofessional service. read more

We called Morello Air Conditioning service to inspect and repair our A/C unit. We have been under a service contract with them. The so called technician came out and after 2 hours said he could not repair the system and continuously tried to sell me a new one. In the end he charged me for the service charge plus $105.00 for a repair he could not perform. I called the office and they said that should have never happened and they will get back to me. After multiple times of trying to see why they didn't follow thru and avoiding a return call I decided to let the public know what took place and their business practices. I called a qualified A/C repair company and they indicated to me that a qualified technician would have found that problem almost instantly which incidentally took their technician 2 minutes to find why the system was not working and not repairable. I immediately bought an entire system from this company and in less than 24 hours I had a new system installed and running perfectly. Just because you have a name that is recognized that means absolutely nothing. It is their integrity that counts that is something to certainly think about. To this date I was never contacted and never refunded for a job that was not done. Be careful who you deal with. Talk is cheap. Incidentally I am a senior citizen and rely on professionals. Even though they had to travel to St Augustine, they gave me the best price, and it was for a top name unit, while other prices I was quoted was for companies I had never even heard of. The technicians who came to install the unit in my condo were top notch. They made sure not to make a mess - double checked their work - were an absolute pleasure to deal with. Mike Morrello, Inc installed an ac unit at a rental of mine and installed it crooked and the ductwork filled up with water. I installed flashing to attempt to fix it on my own. Two years into the ac, the unit breaks and they did send someone out and the tech informed me he fixed it temporarily. THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM WAS FROM PINCHING OF THE THERMOSTAT WIRE FROM INSTALL. Over 5 weeks later, no calls to fixed the unit that is covered under warranty. I called again to get an estimate on new ductwork. No calls back with multiple attempts. I also called and asked a manager or owner to call me back. One week has past no calls! THAT IS NOT WHAT I CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE!! read more

Mike Morello, Inc. installed an AC unit in my new build home on 11/04/15. I was a Carrier AC unit. This unit has a 10-year warranty where the customer pays for labor. This unit has been in operation for approximately 2.5 years. The unit malfunctioned on 09/15/18. I contacted Mike Morello, Inc (MM Inc.) to have the unit repaired. Mike Morello, Inc sent a technician out to repair the unit on 09/15/18. The tech worked on the unit and told me its was repaired. I was charged $70.00 for labor and $49.00 for the service call for a total of $119.00. The next morning approximately 3:00 AM, the unit stopped working again. I contacted MM, Inc. to inform them that the unit was not working. A technician was sent out to diagnose the problem and repair the unit a 2nd time. The technician came out and stated the capacitor was bad and replaced it with a capacitor of a lower capability. He also replaced a filter that he said needed to be replaced. I changed the filter approximately 30 days ago. I checked it prior to the technician arriving and don't think it needed to be replaced. I was charged $82.00 for the capacitor and the filter. The second technician did mention something regarding the warranty. The system stopped working again about an hour after the 2nd technician left. I called MM Inc again to inform them the unit stopped working, and the prior two technicians did not repair the problem. A third technician was dispatched. He stated that a safety switch failed and replaced the part. I was charged $40.00 for the part. The 3rd technician diagnosed the problem and seems to have fixed the unit. I contacted Mike Morello, Inc. in an attempt to resolve my concerns. JW, the service manager did not return several phone messages I left for him. I finally spoke to Robert Vallejo, who stated he was the assistant service manager. We spoke a couple of times, and he stated he would speak with JW and the office manager. I have called Robert Vallejo twice and left messages on his voice mail. Robert Vallejo has not returned my calls. It seems like this is the company's culture, and they don't value the customers or provide adequate customer service. read more
