Contracted Rick Murch to build a deck and partial roof. The original estimate increased twice at…read moreover 30% and he never completed the roof. He started the job in the summer of 2010 and finally removed four inferior 6x6 roof posts from the deck just two weeks ago. This was contract fraud. Do not use this business. Rick requires money up front and then increases the "cost" and never completes the job. The written estimate was never delivered to me. Promised , but never delivered. Mr. Murch will say the roof was not part of the original estimated. So, why would he have installed four 6x6 posts to support a roof if he was going to come back and ask for more money? Why did we spend 2 months working with electrical company concerning the height of roof and electrical lines if not part of original arrangement? He offered to give me another estimate for completing his job. This would be his third increase. I messed up and paid Mr. Murch in advance because one of his employees was having "money problems". Now, I'm having issues. It's just sad. I've requested the estimate and invoice for materials.... Rick won't forward. I greatly overpaid for a deck that has some inferior wood (many splits and knot holes) and a contractor that will not finish the original job even though he was paid 30% more than the original estimate. AVOID this business. It's a snakeoil business. Let my $1000's dollar mistake be a lesson for anyone looking for a contractor or landscaping service in Evansville and/or Henderson Kentucky.

Rick Murch was paid to replace a 25 year old deck at my house in September 2011. I paid over $9000…read morefor a deck, roof, and gate. The original estimate was for just over $7000. He never supplied a written estimate as promised. His price increased due to floor joists (they must have been made of gold). The decking has now split, knot holes are falling out, it's cracked and boards have warped and pulled up from their nails. In short, it is a complete and total mess. Less than one year old and the decking needs to be replaced. It is unsafe in areas, as the boards have pulled up and bowed. I was victim of a construction con. I've learned from this very expensive mistake. It's times like this that I truly miss the business intelligence of my late husband. it's mentally gnawing to be taken advantage of for trusting someone. AVOID at all costs. Dick Murch used inferior wood and never completed the work promised and paid for. Oh, it gets worse. Part of the deck is out-of-code due to the power line that crosses over and the restrictions of decking that surrounds a pool. I am now paying to have the power line moved because Rick Murch, with his 23 years of experience, did not know anything about building code or lumber quality. I've written the BBB in Evansville and contacted Mr. Rick Murch. He's not going to fix the problems. But, I think you can agree, that you wouldn't want someone like Rick Murch back on your property after my experience. My late husband and his best friend built our deck. This deck stood the test of time for over 25 years. You would think someone with 23 years of experience (Rick Murch) could do the same. Rick Murch is a dishonest individual with zero business ethics. His only "specialty" is lying and cheating widows. I paid him up-front because one of his employees was short of cash. Apparently, Mr. Murch was short of cash and couldn't pay his employe until he was paid for the job (even though it was not finished) What a big mistake. It's a lesson that I learned and hope to keep others from repeating. Please don't use this business for anything.

He said they could come right then and get me taken care of. Two gentleman showed up. They both had great personalities and very friendly. They were even more proficient and professional in their skills. An hour and half later I had a new water heater and new valve. The cost was more than fair. I highly recommend this business.
