San Jose Water - Performing a water audit

I started using home serve as a plumbing insurance as recommended by sjw...makes me wonder if they…read more(sjw) gets paid for doing this...it's a company with just 2 stars and seems to be a bit of a rip off. They bid me double on an issue even though all online indicators say that it should not cost more than xxxx....double which then exceeds my limit so I have to pay....something is fishy here. Water rates are ridiculously high...not at all helpful that the utilities commission charges a few...leaving California and all this craziness behind

I am extremely disappointed with San Jose Water Company's service and billing practices. My water…read morebill has been outrageously high despite barely using any water. The amount they charge, along with all of the added fees, is becoming completely unaffordable for people who live in this area. What made this experience even worse was having my water shut off. I paid my past due balance just two minutes after the technician left my home. I immediately called customer service, expecting that they would simply contact the technician, who was literally just down the street, to restore my service. Instead, I was told they would create a work order and that it could take up to 24 hours to have my water turned back on. How is it acceptable for a customer who has already paid their bill to be left without running water for up to 24 hours? That means no access to drinking water, no ability to shower, cook, or even flush a toilet. It is hard to believe this is considered an acceptable level of customer service. Once a customer has paid the amount owed, restoring an essential utility like water should be treated as a priority. Waiting up to 24 hours is unreasonable and shows a lack of concern for customers' basic needs. Between the excessive bills, outrageous fees, and incredibly poor customer service, my experience with San Jose Water has been frustrating and unacceptable. The company needs to reevaluate its billing practices and implement a much faster process for restoring service after payment. No one should have to go without running water after they've done what was required to get their account back in good standing.

Had a sewer block and called an un-named company out (not Roto-rooter, used them very satisfactory…read moreabout 8 years ago before main was replaced) and they cleared the blockage, then rec run camera in line and showed what appeared to be splits in a cast iron pipe and rec hydro-flush and install a epoxy liner inside pipe for 23k, decided to get second opinion. As an engineer I searched internet and found Nu-flow pipe repair with a very well put together animation video of their process on their website and contacted them for their Bay Area representative. Trench free contacted me and I arranged for them to come out to give a quote. They were on time and very prompt and professional, the technician Carlos, who has been in the business over 20 years, arrived and ran the camera in 15 minutes and there was no iron pipe or cracks on his screen, not sure what other company was showing me, but the camera was very clear and showed PVC pipe for whole length of pipe. He was totally forthright and honest and said he doesn't see anything that needed repairing. The house is from 1949 but the sewer lines were replaced on 2 sides of the house in the 1980's to eliminate the septic tank and the final main 80' foot long clay pipe was replaced in 2019 to the street. We are a very satisfied US Air Force Veteran and will recommend them to all we know for future work. Carlos saved us from a very expensive repair. He did comment we have a shallow drop on the long pipe line and may need to send extra water down to flush debris out.

Always a plus. - They do a complete guided tour while they are doing the work, and explain everything step-by step. It's quite interesting. - They are really fast. They did the cleanout install in under 3 hours. - They have good schedule availability; They came out within 2 working days. - They use an SMS-based scheduler that streamlines the booking and scheduling process. Very convenient. They are tech-savy. - They have top-of-the-line professional equipment. Always a plus.

Not that we have options, but for such a critical service, their customer service is abominable!…read more Our power went out on a 97 degree day, about 45 minutes before it was to get dark. I want to know if it's coming on soon, or if I have to rush around during the limited daylight minutes left, and see if I can find a decent hotel to stay, in order to keep an elderly parent cool, and with the tools she needs to stay in good health. They want you to use AI, their Virtual Assistant, or use up the remaining battery power of your phone, so that it is cheap for them, and they don't have to pay Customer Service Reps. THEIR VIRTUAL ASSISTANT ASKS QUESTIONS, TELLS ME THERE IS NO OUTAGE, AND TO CALL BACK DURING THEIR NORMAL WORKDAY HOURS TO SPEAK TO A REPRESENTATIVE!!!!! 1) YOU ARE WRONG! 2) You better have Customer Service when your services fail, and people's lives may require assistance 3) Don't give me cheap AI assistance, when it is completely unhelpful, without any actual service! I did call back, and went through the lengthy questioning from their AI Virtual Assistant, and would not answer the questions, and kept stating I needed a Real Person. I finally got there. She differs from their virtual system, and acknowledges there is an issue that they are fixing, but does not have any other info. She asks if I want automated updates. My phone is full on memory, so I say they can call with updates, since I don't know how long this will last, and need to plan. I agree they can call past 9 p.m., since so much is unknown. They did not call that night, even though power came back on after a couple of hours. However, the next day, I find my voicemails full of messages. I received 5 messages from PG&E, after power was already restored the night before, stating that power would be restored by 9 a.m., then in another message, by 11 a.m., another message by 5 p.m., and another by 11 p.m., and then another stating they shut off power for an urgent repair. Similar to the weather bureaus, PG&E's service updates are completely false, untimely, and useless. You cannot rely on their service, their Customer Service, or their information. How are they allowed to operate in this manner? We are paying outrageous amounts each month, with costs rising higher and higher, for completely incompetent service! This needs to change.
