I bring it in and they have it for SEVEN WEEKS, but that is just the beginning. Lord knows what they really did to it but I end up taking it back with the check engine light still on, and Mike (owner) has the audacity to try to charge me full price, which was about 3500 bucks if I recall correctly. He is the owner of the shop, told me he had the best guy on it, but was talking about my car like it was alien technology. IT WAS A TEN YEAR OLD MASS PRODUCED VEHICLE, not some formula 1 car. Anyway I ended up paying 1500 for the "parts" or whatever, Mike convinced me it was fine to drive on, but boom 5k miles later I get complete engine failure. For the love of God do not make the same mistake I did of thinking these guys know wtf they are doing.

Not only did I find both, but great ones at that! One day I went to have a standard oil change at one of the many lube stops that frequent the landscape, and later learned they had over torqued the steel oil pan screw and stripped the aluminum pan's threads. Needless to say I had big problem. I went back and the shop denied the damage and so found myself at a Honda dealership that promptly told me it would cost $1200 to replace! I was in a panic as I had nowhere that kind of money, and had to have my car to get to work. I asked around and my VP told me about Plevris. When I showed up, Mike, the owner personally greeted me and showed me the issue. He then said he could replace it, but since I was on a budget, he could fabricate a brass shim and see how long it would last. That small piece of metal lasted 2 years, and when I finally had to replace the oil pan, Mike found a used one and had it installed for $200! Not only did this simple fix save me from an enormous up front bill, it gained a customer for life! Over the years, Mike and his talented team have repaired my family's numerous vehicles, and not once did I feel cheated or mistreated. I have been driven to work after dropping my car off, picked up, and even allowed to borrow cars, all to accommodate me. I cannot speak for his other customers, but it would not surprise me if they received the same courtesy. Mike is a very rare find. In fact, this honest and ethical man honors his customers once a year with a Greek BBQ (full lamb on a spit) as a way of saying "Thank You" for your business! Good luck finding parking on that day! I cannot overstate how lucky I was to find Mike and his crew. He is good people.

Then their dude did a one half ass hour look into it , told me it was done. I picked up my car after being 2 weeks at the shop, one hour to look at it , nothin wrong with it. Come n get it. Som bichin tire cracked off the arm ON THE WAY HOME!!! almost crashed. People pulled over to check on me. It was Trump/ Bidens 3rd debate that night. cold as f. dark . I waited 3 hours for a tow. Progressive told me to tow it to Marhoffer Collision. They replaced arm, tie rod, gimpy cracked part of the inner wheel. Replaced the entire wheel, tire, damaged lines. And Progressive paid for a loaner . 4 days later my car was done well, and right. Now Mike gave me honest advice. He said my car was rotting out and i should get my car to not pass the emissions testing, so i would only have to pay $.300.00 to fix my problem. Otherwise id have to pay a huge amount ....and i appreciated that. Until my tire cracked off in heavy traffic at 430pm on Darrow Rd.

They claimed it was the brand new parts that went bad (maybe it was, can't prove one way or the other) but after having them replace them a second time I had to turn around and take it back because it was falling apart as soon as I left the shop. They finally got it after try three thank god because customer communication was deteriorating. They also have a strange habit of either not remembering a customer who has been in three times due to mistakes or making a point of pretending to not remember them. Overall a very weird experience and I won't be back.

The employees have never sat in the office and gossiped about anything. The front desk girl is very nice and friendly and does talk to you but she is not gossiping. The quality of the services they provide and the prices can't be beat. Anytime I bring my car in for a specific issue they fix it. I've never been given the run around or felt like I was being taken advantage of as a female. A lot of mechanics take advantage of women and try to charge us more thinking we don't know any better but this place doesn't do that. I was taking my car to Vandevere and paying 100.00 for an oil change when Ken's charges me 45.00 for the same service. Also it takes them maybe half an hour versus three hours at the dealer. You can't please everyone but this place has way more positive reviews than negative and I definitely recommend taking your vehicle here.

(Well, that ended up being only $25 off per two separate visits at specific time periods. ) Anyway, while I was there, the owner, Steve brought out pictures of the underneath of my car. (Also texted these to me.) Stated that I needed a whole new radiator and hoses. That I had a leak in a seam of my radiator. Showed me that pic of it. I told him that I had NO leaks noted on my garage floor, which I understood as how you would know if you had a radiator leak. Especially one being as bad as needed attention that day. He told me that the cost was $1300!!!!! I NEVER do more than an oil change unless I check things out further and get 2nd and 3rd opinions. This day I was not thinking correctly. So, I agreed for him to do the radiator. A loaner car was given and charged to me for $20/day. I should never have left my car. He also added that my car needed attention to a few other things - Struts and control arm bushings were worn, stabilizer links (worn and broken), tie rod needed replaced. Since the struts/stabilizers were found as RED and needing immediate attention. I came back the next day to pick up my car. I drove it straight down the road to my other auto repair place (which I should have done the day before). They disagreed that the radiator even needed done after I showed them the pictures, let alone the huge cost. I then made an appt for the next day to have them check out the other repairs that Shaw Auto pointed out = estimate was $1617.18 which included shocks, struts, sway bar, need for reset steering angle ($20) and 4 wheel alignment ($140). After I left there, My Engine light went on my dash, also my Hybrid engine caution lights. I was furious. My car horn was very weak also (As I had to honk at someone who pulled out in front of me.) I drove straight back to Shaw Auto and told him my dilemma. He gave me back the keys to the car loaner and put my car up on the rack. I left, but was very nervous about letting him even "fix' the 'problem'. So, I drove back in about 40 minutes. My car was still up on the rack. He asked me why I was back. I told him I wanted my car back. He told me it was being 'fixed'. I asked, for what. He said that there were bubbles in the coolant of my (new) radiator repair. What?! I looked it online. The repair was not done correctly or not detailed enough. Bubbles in the coolant is detrimental to a hybrid car. So, I waited another hour for my car. I did get to take it home after they test drove it after their 'fix'. I went back to my usual auto repair place the next day, and they told me I needed NONE of the repairs listed that Shaw Auto had taken pictures of and told me that needed repaired. My car was in excellent condition for its age and would last a very long time. So, do NOT go to Shaw Auto in Cuyahoga Falls. Huge rip off. Please, get a 2nd opinion on any big repairs. Shame on you, Steve!

The owner (Steve) calls me to tell me the best option was to buy an o.e.m. create motor from gm...so that's what I did. One year later I take it to gm who tells me all my Vin numbers match and the motor was never replaced but rebuilt instead. I went back to American and asked for my warranty information. Steve the owner refused to give me any information and refused to help in any way. The issue with the motor was the gaskets on block was blown out. Not only are they liars and thiefs but they do horrible work....in fact looking through the reviews the only thing these guys can do is tires.
