Excellent place to take your vehicle. I was nervous to have the issues looked at, but Jim assured me that the job would be taken care of in a timely manner and that the problems would be fixed. They were able to get us in quickly for our first go round with them--needed a door fixed and horn upgrade total cost 700.00...two weeks later we took it in to see if the vehicle was safe to do long distance driving (which we didn't doubt just Wanted to double check) received a call from their shop saying the estimate to fix our car was 2100 plus and was told IT HAD TO BE DONE... We took to get second opinion and the owner of the shop told us that the car was in GREAT shape...he said needed small work but able to drive long distance and nothing needed to be done immediately... We are mortified...why would this shop say all is well and the other (jimyz) tell us we're had to get items fixed for fear of imminent danger??!!! Needless to say we will NEVER use their services again and advise everyone we know not to spend their hard earned money there. read more

Good and honest place to take your vehicle for just about any type of repair. They replaced the spark plugs on my 2007 Toyota RAV4 Limited V6 for $200 cheaper than my dealer. I even had them put a custom chrome exhaust tip on my RAV two years ago, no job too small either. Jimyz is an honest business who charges a fair price and does great work. They are very personable and professional to deal with, they really care about their work and the feedback they receive. I would have given them a 5-star review if they had extended hours. But I understand that Jimmy and his employees deserve a life outside of work by having their weekends and evenings free just like the rest of us. But I would be able to give them more business if they were open later. read more

Got quoted a price that was like rape. Jim the guy on the phone screamed and yelled at me. Had used them numerous times and was overcharged but since its local and they where time efficient I trusted to go back. Now that they quoted me two times the price of what all other shops are quoting me I will not be going back. Also when I had my universal joints replaced there... they lasted three months. They don't know how to put the drive shaft back together properly and it was out of timing. Never again will I refer jimmyz as my mechanic. Especially since he got nasty on the phone with me when I told him all I got is 1000$ to spend to fix it. Good job you lost one customer and many more Jim!!! read more

He's had my corvette several times. They are reasonable and just a good bunch of guys.

I've gone a couple times now, mostly due how quickly they could get me in. Prices after speaking with other shops afterwards are above industry standard and they nickel and dime you. The bill adds up. Was in for very simple routine maintenance and walked out paying 20% more than quoted. Not a huge deal to pay 20% for smaller items, but I wouldn't go there for a costly repair. Work seems fine (hard to mess up oil changes). I can't speak of actual repairs. They are friendly enough and they seem to be able to get you in quickly, just expect to pay more than listed/quoted pricing. read more

Extremely slimey and just wants your money. All auto repair shops provide a mark-up on parts, and after a miscommunication when authorizing the part, he charged me about 5 times the original price of the part. I needed a windshield wiper transmission assembly, which can be bought at Auto Zone for $75. He charged me $380 only for the part. Most auto repair shops charge 40%-100% markup while he charges me 5 times the amount. I was under the assumption that he was also fixing my right lower control arm so when finalizing the price it sounded about right, but after paying and seeing what was repaired it was not on there. Jim's explanation for the mark-up was basically that he can charge however much he wants because he's reselling a part to people who don't understand how much these parts should cost. My car isn't even worth $400 and he charges me that amount for a couple metal bars. First two times I used Jimyz he had decent prices, but as I use my car for my job I needed it done quickly this time, which he knew,so I had to get it in and out of a shop as quickly as i could. He used my need for my car as leverage to markup a part for 5 times the original price. read more

I have gone to Jimyz Automotive for years. I've recommended his services to all my friends and family. He used to be a man of integrity. I don't know what happened to him. He did a repair for me. The repair went bad shortly afterwards. I gave him a call. He told me he'd get back to me with an estimate. I never heard from him. I called him again a few days later. Same thing happened. He didn't call back. I personally stopped in for an estimate. He made the same promise and never followed through with it. This happened several more times before I finally got the message and went somewhere else. I feel hurt because I once considered this man family. read more

Paid $460 some dollars to have my coolant system checked and "fixed". Drove 5 miles down the road only to have antifreeze spewing out all over. Bought more antifreeze and filled and drive my car to another care repair shop. Paid to have the thermostat housing replaced and MORE antifreeze put in. 3 weeks ago Jimyz's agreed to refund the cost of antifreeze and a pressure check. Called 3 times since the only to be told "the check is in the mail". May need an attorney for this one as I am on a fixed income and this whole experience has been a nightmare! read more

Best mechanic shop I have ever dealt with! My husband and I broke down on the side of the Ohio turnpike. Being from Canada we had no idea what to do and where to go because as soon as most people see that Ontario license plate they know they can change us anything because we have to get home. Jimy's was fair, fast, honest and had the best customer service I have every experienced in my life. When something is wrong, they can figure it out quick and get it done right the first time. I have been talked out of several major repairs over the years depending on my vehicles situation.
