Sells fraudulent cars. They break down after 2-3 days. Most dishonest man I have seen. Do not buy from him.

Rod Hatfield has a Used Cars Lot in Winchester, KY. I don't see a Yelp page for this lot. I'm sure…read moreRod Hatfield's in Lexington owns it. I am looking for my sons first vehicle. I was using Cargurus.com and came across a 2016 Nissan Rogue, with 112,000 miles, listed for 10K at the Rod Hatfield's Used Cars location in Winchester, KY. I drove there this past Saturday, July 6th, 2019, and test drove it. It was a clean vehicle and I spoke with the manager and the salesperson. I told them I liked the vehicle and would be back to purchase it in a couple of days. I got the phone number and email of the salesperson. I asked the manager, I don't remember his name, if they give Military personal any discount, and he responded that they love the military and would take care of me. (yea right) I emailed the salesman the same day and again told them I was going to purchase the SUV. He emailed back a day later and said that the price had gone up and that it was listed wrong. Of course, I wasn't happy. The price went from 10k to 12k. (wow!) I considered it and agreed that as long as the 12k included tax, license, and all fees then I would purchase the vehicle. They agreed. (I have the emails) I then call them and make arrangements to pay for the vehicle on Friday July 12th, 2019 but I received an email on Wednesday saying the price had gone up again. (WTF?) The salesman fell all over himself, trying to convince it was a mistake but the it was still a great price. I, of course, told them the deal was off and that they were a very dishonest business. He didn't argue..lol. The price went from 10k to 12k after I told them I'd purchase it, then up to 13,500 right before we were suppose to purchase. This business should not be in business. They are the reason car dealerships have a bad name. Very sad and I wouldn't buy a vehicle from any car dealership with the Rod Hatfield name on it. Sad...

Wish you could give negative stars. Bought a 2010 Equniox for $6000 on 06-25-19 from Ron Downing,…read moreon 06-28-19 cylinder 3 blew and dumped oil into the air intake. I was on my way to Utah to start school for a new high paying job. Never made it. Lost the job, lost the $7900 payment for school, out the $6000 for the Equinox and here I sit with no vehicle. The dealership did refund me $850, the money they say they made on the sale, but it took me several weeks of chasing them around until I finally showed up at the dealership and things finally happened and I received my money the next day. Would not recommend this dealership to my enemies. Save yourself the time and money and go literally anywhere else.

THIS POST IS TO BRING AWARENESS!!!!!! DO NOT BUY FROM WINCHESTER AUTO SALES the owners name is…read moreRandy and he's a total crook. He has done nothing but lie and manipulate us. He's put my kids lives in danger and even threatened us. My boyfriend lost his job and I am now on the verge of losing mine. A few weeks ago I started having car issues with my vehicle we were told it was most likely the motor which is a few thousand dollar job. So we put it in the shop and needed something to get us to and from work. It didn't have to be perfect we wanted to keep it around $2000. We had a really hard time finding anything at all without major issues. We come across this 03 Kia Sorento for $1800 we call the guy (randy) he says the car is great for the price it will last a long time and continued to tell us how great, reliable, and safe the car is. Now we aren't from here we don't know anyone and our car clearly couldn't get us to Winchester. randy told us he would bring the car to us and we could drive the car back to his store and sign papers so we said ok. We drive the car back it seems decent I tried to talk to my bf about how he liked it and randy just kept talking and talking. now we realize it was to keep us from noticing anything going on in the car or anything he covered up. Which we quickly did notice upon driving off the lot. (We are not mechanically inclined) we know the basics we put all our trust in this guy told him our situation and at the time he seemed genuine. He asked us all about our kids and my biggest concern before buying that I expressed to randy was it being safe for them. And he reassured us non stop. Well here is everything that has happened from purchasing the car on 4/19 upto today 5/5. After signing the papers and pay we get in our car and try to turn the car on and it stalls. (When randy brought the car to us he didn't turn it off we just got in and started driving so we didn't know this was an issue in the car.) second we go to the nearest gas station and put $40 in gas. Randy had said he put $20 in to get the car to us and was almost on e. As we're driving back to Richmond the smell of gas consumed the car and we started to feel sick. We got home and parked. We were relieved we had a vehicle to get to and from work regardless of the issues because we were worried about my bf losing his job. We decided we would use this strictly for work and errands as we only needed it for a month or so till we had the money to put in our original vehicles motor. The next day we get in the car and realize there's gas leaking we ran two in town errands and our gas gauge goes on e then starts fluctuating. We also noticed as we were cleaning the car a freshly put sticker over the engine light that was on‍ we noticed the exposed wires under the wheel were taped with electrical tape. Our gear shift started making a huge clunk when shifting. We go home very frustrated. I contact randy tell him what's going on with the vehicle he says he's not responsible or obligated because we bought the car as is but he will have his mechanic fix whatever is wrong with the gas leak. It was a process getting him to even get the car he was so inconsistent we had to bug and bug and finally tell him we were going to sue. We were stressed we gave all our savings for this car so we had a way to work and now we still didn't have a vehicle to get to work. He finally gets the car two days later then the mechanic keeps the car almost a week after saying we'd have it before Monday and says he fixed a list of things. We get the car back I goto work that next day and on my way home the breaks stop working I panic called randy and says again he's not obligated but he'll have his mechanic do all the break lines we say ok. The mechanic and my bf talk and plan the day to get the car then we stop hearing from him and he never got the car. So figure screw it we got an oil change and had the breaks bled that seems to fix the break issue just enough to get us to and from work ok. Thank god for the mechanic I took my car to for the breaks he starts asking us about the car and where we got it. He says we need to get rid of it asap he said the shocks are about to give out and our car could collapse he said we were sold a lemon and it's entirely not safe he told us the rotors breaks shocks are all completely rusted he said the frame is completely rusted underneath and this car isn't fixable. Now when Randy's mechanic worked on the car he said he did a number of things including 6ft of break line back brakes one rotar and a few other things. If the mechanic doing my oil and bleeding my breaks could see all of that in 35-40 minutes couldn't Randy's mechanic see all of it in almost a week of having the car actually doing break work? I asked them numerous times please just let us know what is wrong with it even if they don't fix it so we can so we know it's safe to have our kids in and again we were reassured it was a "great car".
