Mike and Don are trusted, reliable, knowledgeable owner/ mechanics I've used on several large jobs with exceptional results. On my 2003 GS430 with 293k miles, had the following replaced- power steering pump, alternator, all belts including tensioner pulleys, where i brought in all oem Lexus parts. Recently had my AC compressor and condenser replaced. I do a lot of the work myself from brakes to head gaskets and spark plugs, so I know a good mechanic when I talk to one... these guys are good! My family has always been coming here for our car troubles. About a decade ago, my dad sold our family van here for a much better price than others would offer due to the issues it's having. I've also been bringing my car here for oil changes, when the bottom panel of my car was coming off and scraping against the ground, and when I was having brake problems. The men here are always pretty friendly but also concise when speaking in English. I do find bringing someone to speak in Vietnamese also really helps. The latest time I've been here, there was an issue with my brakes. I dropped it off on the morning at around 10:30am on a weekday and they told me they would call and confirm the details before replacing anything. They called me at around 1pm to tell me (mostly my dad) the issue and was able to tell me a price for the parts and fix (which was pretty reasonable though I am not a car person). My car was ready for me to pick up by 4/5pm. Paid using my credit card and I was good to go. Would really recommend coming here for any car troubles and they'll do a very good job! read more

My daughter brought her Chevy suburban to him because the car wouldn't shift out of low gear, he tells her her car needs a new engine because of a bad bearing he keeps the car for two months in the mean time she has to rent a car he finally says he's finished but than proceeds to ask her "why didn't you tell me you needed a transmission she replied what are you talking about I brought it two you to tell me what is wrong with it! So than he sends the car to another friend that works on transmissions and chargers her more after a few days she pick it up it's running but now the air conditioner isn't working it's running funny, burning gas like crazy and it is leaking oil she takes it back he repairs the air conditioner and supposedly the oil leak than tells her oh you need a catalytic converter, thousands of dollars later her car doesn't run right and is still leaking oil!! About a month ago, I was financially insecure, I was already struggling with my credit cards when my vehicle decides to vibrate violently. I took it from place to place, some pointed to the Coils, Injectors and one pointed at the Timing chain. Went to San Jose for the weekend, the day I was leaving to come back home to Sacramento I completely messed up the whole bottom of my car, and because I drove like that it got even worse. It dragged so bad to the point the bottom was barely hanging on. I took my car to a few places. Everyone was closing or couldn't help me until I came across Mikee's auto repair. I told him I bought clips from auto zone if he could just clip it on for me so that I can make it back home, he laughed and he joked, but in a good way making me feel relieved that was going to take a look at my car. He went to open up my car door and noticed I had my four daughters with me. he told me and my kids to go inside and wait next thing I knew he had my car cranked up high and got to work I thought for sure this was gonna cost me especially not being from San Jose , on a Sunday and being a female, I didn't know what the charge would be but to me and my daughters surprise he didn't charge me anything and boy I never seen my daughter's jaws drop so fast when he said no charge. Love this place! I have been going here for over 10 years because my friend recommended them. I'm so happy with the service, speed and price of car repairs. To give you an example, took my car to the dealership and told them there was an issue with the tire, they gave it back to me and didn't fix anything. I came here to get my timing belt check because the other auto repair I went to get my oil Change before said there's a problem with my timing belt, so I decided to bring my car here(a friend of mine recommended it to me). My Parents have been going to Mike for 20+ years, when his shop was on Winfield in South San Jose. I have been going to Mikes for 10 years myself. He is very honest and upfront about everything. He never tells you that you need to do something with your car that is not necessary and if something will cost you more than the car is worth he will tell you. I refer him to all of my friends and their Oil Changes are very reasonably priced and you don't have to wait for it; You arrive, they change it and you go. Mike's (aka Kim) is very helpful. The first time I brought my car here (97 Acura TL) I wanted to get the bolt on my tire fixed because America's Tire Company broke it off due to high amount of torque! When Mike inspected that, he found and recommended replacing the front axle, bolt, nut, both steering boot. He estimated about $390. Mike made sure I was OK with the repairs before continuing. Drop off the car early in the morning (around 8ish), got a call around 2PM and it's ready for pickup. I brought my wife's car (2004 IS300) to get the rear break pads replaced, I bought my break pads and they replaced it and it took no more than 15 min! Total cost was $30! Mike is a honest person, he will check with you first if you're OK with repairs. He doesn't pressure you and he will let you know if it's worth the repair. I'd definitely go back and get my cars repair at Mike's! read more

I had been taking my car to another mechanic for years but decided to check out Mikee's who had been recommend by a "challenge to please" neighbor (they had been taking their car to Mikee for years). I knew what needed to be done on my car, looked on Yelp and found 2 highest rated shops near me. I called them, my mechanic, and Mikee's for a price quote for the work. Out of all 4, Mikee beat them by quite a bit. I drove my car in that day (it was a slow day for them), and they took the time to answer my questions. They also showed me the sealed OEM materials and I watched them as they methodically did the work. Besides Kim, there were 2 other workers, and they both helped to do "tag team" to help keep things moving along while they machined my rotors. On top of that, they topped off all my fluids including my completely empty wiper tank! I do wonder how different my experience would've been if it had been a busy day, but on that slow day, I left there feeling really taken care of and will definitely use them again! read more

We bought our truck to fix, it ran worst and told us it wasn't worth fixing and they had a 2007 hhr Chevy for 2000.00. The heater didn't work so we paid a mechanic to fix and the truck over heated. We took it back to Mickys to change the thermostat and instead they unhooked the heater. So we took it to another mechanic and they replaced the thermostat and rehooked the heater. Plus the passenger fender was held together with ties which we got fixed and replaced the bumper. As long as we left the air on it didn't overheat until today. So we went back to Mickys and he offered to buy back the car for 1000.00 or unhook the heater....So don't anyone buy a vehicle or have repairs done at this establishment. Don't buy a black hhr Chevy from them because they'll unhook the heater and try to sell it. They are shoddy and rip offs. read more

For the last couple years, I've brought my Honda to Mikee's for maintenance (oil changes, brakes, and to analyze issue with hybrid battery). I've never felt overcharged, especially regarding my brake & rotor changes. I've actually compared prices with other local repair shops, and Mikee's was definitely much cheaper and I've been driving without a problem. They've actually told me that some items I brought in to fix (maintenance minder) could last ___ much longer, if I wanted to hold out on replacing, which I really appreciated. Now, don't expect really personable staff. I've spoken to the owner once, and he is kind of hard to understand. Most of my interaction has been with the front desk guy (sorry dude for not getting your name after all these years) who is not only friendly, but even remembered me and my car (and it's issues) after several visits. Location is alright, located on a busy intersection not far from the 101. There's not much of a waiting area and the area can feel a bit sketchy, but so far, I haven't had a problem. read more

If I could I would give them a negative star. I just took my Honda Accord 2001 to the dealership because my SRS is on. BTW I found this info "the extended warranty covers the "SRS unit" if your car is under 10 years or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first. The inspection and repair will be free." online. The mechanic at the dealership also told me that this was a known common problem with these Hondas. They took my car and the diagnostic and repair was indeed free. Anyhow too late for my father though who has a Honda Accord 2002 and had the same problem, but made the mistake of taking it here. As a mechanic this guy is supposedly far more knowledgeable about common warranty covered problems. But, he felt it was easy to rip my dad off and charged him $65 for the diagnostic and the total was $175 to fix the belt buckle sensor (which is the known cause of the SRS light being mysteriously on) =$240. This would have been free at the dealership and the guy...if he was an honest mechanic would have been upfront. That's pretty messed up in my book, esp with these hard times...if this mechanic was honest and upfront he could have had repeat business in the future. Also that would have made good business sense since most people I know get their mechanic through recommendations and word of mouth. But, now I have to bash him on yelp and hope no other Honda owners get screwed. read more

First of all, it's hard to follow when Mike talks -- it's like he's chewing a particularly sticky kind of gum and he blames you for it! His comprehension of what you say is equally bad. The net result is a PR disaster and downright poor customer service. Every innocent question is misinterpreted as a demand for free service and he loses his temper, though his 'sticky gum' prevents him from yelling (thankfully!). So you get a 'sticky' staccato of verbal ammunition in response to an innocent question like 'do you hear a noise coming from the engine that I do when I press on gas?' I ain't going back there (maybe with some gum thinner next time) and suggest that you don't as well.. he's a piece of work! read more
