I took my Mercedes Benz to Alum Rock Auto Care to have my power steering pump fixed only to have it returned to me with a broken side mirror light and scrapes all around the car. I spoke with the workers at the auto care, but they refused to take accountability for their own mistakes. I 100% do not recommend anyone come here if you want your car returned worse than how you brought it in. I recommend anyone who brings their car in to take photos all around. I am extremely upset with how they handled this situation, all I asked was for them to fix the damages that they created. I will be filing a complaint with the BAR. read more

I saw a lot of good reviews but wasn't for mine . I went alum rock auto service because of engine oil leaking on Thursday 17 July and dropped off at 5:20 pm . The. I got a call on the next day around 11:30 am from them that I need to change pumps , it's cost $520 something then I said yes and pick d up on the same day around 5:pm on Friday. But Saturday morning , I figured out oil still leaking and then I stopped car for one more day on Sunday ,still leaking then brought back my car to Alum Rock again on Monday at 3 :00pm . Problem started since I left my car on that day. They never call me back about my car what's going on so I have to call all the time to get to know, they said waiting on parts then on Wednesday,I called again they are not sure yet when they will get parts ( they are not sure my car will be ok or not even they change with that new parts) . Then nothing news till I went there on Thursday . They said "parts"will receive by Friday Morning and I might get my car on Friday. They said they will let me know. But, they never called me back . So, I have to call again and finally I took my car on Saturday without getting fixed. So, the reason, they don't want to responsible for the results for changing wrong parts and taking labors fees and just wasted my time by leaving my car at their parking for a week. She loved these guys and they used to drive her home and pick her up when she got her car serviced there. She just adored them. Adam took over then they moved to Alum Rock. Adam and Brian run the joint and do a dang fine job. The prices are unbeatable, the service is unbeatable. Get there early because people will be there at 8AM sharp, they are very popular and busy so get there early. The turn around time is top notch and they use only of the finest products. Adam just did my brakes and used the best of the best German brakes and rotors. They completed the job within a couple of hours. I take all of my cars there, kid's car and anything I can send their way, why? Because they are the best. I highly recommend to all folks in the area. Brian is really nice, that is the reason why I took my car there for transmission fix. Being nice is great, a lot of places I go to are rude to costumers. However I have to say I am REALLY disappointed with the communication. For the past 3 weeks I have been stressed about not having my car and not knowing what happened to my car. Here's the frustrations I encountered with this auto care. 1. I was told to pick up my car on a specific date, and when I call on the date, I was told that there was a delay on the shipment of the parts. (That's understandable, but why didn't you call me in advance? So I could have time to borrow a car from someone.) I ended up having to spend money on uber to work because I can't just suddenly not go to work. 2. Got my car back the next week, and the first day I drove to work my car immediately starts to slip (transmission slipping). And it felt as if nothing has changed for my car. (I paid $3200 for a transmission rebuild with a brand new transmission) 3. I ended up having to leave my car at the shop next morning. Brain drove me to work, which is a nice gesture, but I still had to uber home and uber to work the next day.... 4. All this time it has been me calling the auto shop to try and figure out just what in the world is happening to my car...... No one tries to contact me at ALL. 5. Called in again on the following week on Thursday, guess what? They told me the place where they bought the parts from gave them the wrong parts............. oh my god........ 6. Called in again 3 hours later to ask them if they need more time, and suddenly they said they don't need the wrong parts...and that it is possible to pick up my car by noon tomorrow if everything went well with the test drive. 7. Called in at noon the next day, the employee told me the boss doesn't come in until 1pm, and I will have to call him at one. I have to work in 2 hours and still I have no answer... What I don't understand is. When I paid for the Transmission, shouldn't the Transmission Valve be included? When I look up transmission prices online for my car model, most of them are priced at 2500 and above, and labor fee is about 500~1000. So $3200 sound reasonable. But when I check the receipt again, They charge 1800 for the Transmission and 1200 for the labor fee. I don't know if they are trying to SAVE the cost of transmission valve so they get more cut on the labor fee? What I want to say is. PLEASE BE MORE TRANSPARENT. Communicate with us. Tell us what is wrong, Don't wait for us to call you, you should be calling us. Be honest. I like Brian so I gave 2 stars, but I'm not sure if I trust the rest of his crew. Towed my 98 prelude here for a no start. Ended up being a timing belt issue which took 3 weeks to fix. Worst communication I've ever experienced, took my car to his house to "work" on. Don't know what he did there, but when I got it back it died after a couple hundred feet, no gas. Got some gas and drove a light down the street died again. Called the guy and told me it was my idle control valve, said I could do the job myself. Biggest nightmare I cannot believe people go here, their place also looks like a pick n pull. read more

Took my car there, and I was amazed at the friendlyness and all-around competence. Oil changes, brake work ... and the one single major thing, a blown head gasket -- they always had my car back to me in a day or two (OK, four days for the blown head gasket but that's because I took advantage to change out the engine (at their suggestion) as it had 200K miles on it, and it was the same amount of labor. The one time they couldn't find an issue, they didn't charge me despite having to investigate it -- and the problem (with the cruise control) went away after they investigated. Great business. I can't recommend them too highly. read more

I dropped by today because the engine splash shield on my Honda Fit had come undone and I wanted to know when he might be able to look at it. I had hooked it back in but it was still hanging weird and needed to be secured. Much to my surprise Bryan said he could look at it right away. 15 minutes later he had fixed it and to top it off, he told me "no charge". I was very seriously pleased! AVOID THESE GUYS AT ALL COST! My dad changed the oil here because it's nearby our house. When he got back home, it caught fire in the engine. Luckily we have the water valve in the front yard and turn it off quickly. I realized that these guys must neglectfully dropped the oil on the part, and when the engine gets hot, it catches fire. I brought the car back to the shop and they all denied the responsibility. They said the car is leaking, that's why it catches fire. Yes the car is old, and it's leaking for a long time. Why doesn't it catch fire before? They didn't even say sorry to me and my dad. The car is low in value and my dad is safe. Otherwise I'd see them all in court. read more

I came in the following morning and the guy was trying to charge me $65 for just an oil change and told me that they do not do tire rotations. I've been coming here for my oil changes and smog checks for a couple years now. The guys here are friendly, knowledgeable, and honest! Every time I'm here for an oil change, I feel like they inspect my entire car while they're at it. One time they noted that I had a leak in my brake fluid and another time, that my tires were too worn out. I even came here once to ask why my alarm was going off randomly, and a worker identified the problem, told me which part needed to be replaced and didn't charge me. These guys just know their stuff - simple as that. The best thing is that they don't pressure you to get your car fixed there. My tires needed to be replaced ASAP, and one of the workers gave me a quote of the cost but told me to research and see if any other place would be cheaper. He told me, "the important thing is that you get them replaced whether it is here or not. Just please don't drive with them because it's unsafe." I appreciated his honesty. There's a reason their lot is always packed! I call before each visit to ask for the estimated wait time because they're always busy with customers. This Shop scammed me because I bring my car to there shop because my car had the check engine and he said that the problem was the fuel injector so i let them fix my car and when they fixed it after 2 days the check engine turned on again and so i returned my car again. Yesterday I got my car when i drove 60 miles it still has the check engine again and I paid $860 for nothing...today i bring my car again to there auto shop then they said the problem is the catalytic converter and i asked if how much and he said $900. I replaced my ac condenser myself on my 2010 Honda Civic LX, however I didn't have the equipment to do an evac and recharge to the AC system of my car. This is where Brian at Alum Rock Auto Care comes in and does excellent job in handling the ac evac and recharge at a great price. Don't go to Piercy Honda for your AC service, because they will charge you around $220 to diagnose your ac issue and not even repair it. Went to "JL" to see what was wrong with my car, and they had told me they ran a diagnostic check and said it was a misfire and that they needed work on it and it would come out to roughly $650-$700 with parts/labor. I wanted a second opinion, so I went to Alum Rock Auto Care where I met Brian. Super friendly and professional guy. He told me he would check it out and let me know what was wrong with it. He ran the diagnostic test and it turns out there's wasn't ever a code for the engine, all he had to do was replace the o2 filters and the car works perfectly fine now.
