Not much in terms of ambiance but everything else great. You can tell it is a family restaurant, they are quick and polite. The food is made fresh and seasoned well. Prices are affordable. The best place to go for empanada's, salads and 'fat' sandwiches in my opinion. Check them out for yourself, you won't be disappointed. read more

I wanted a crispy chicken sandwich didn't want to drive in the snow. Found Mike's on grubhub. Ordered a crispy chicken wrap, grilled eggplant sandwich, and fries. I wasn't expecting much from a deli, and was very pleasantly surprised, the wrap was as good as wraps at nearby diners, the grilled eggplant tasted like actal grilled eggplant (much better than a diner, panera, whole foods- as good as a fresh Mediterranean restaurant). The fries weren't crispy which I prefer, some people don't but still fine. Im def. going to start ordering from here more often. read more

Ordered thru UberEats for office lunch and they COMPLETELY DISREGARDED EVERY NOTE we wrote (i.e. "No mustard/mayo, cheese substitutions, add russian dressing, lettuce, tomato...NONE OF THEM) If the substitutions were additional, why not just add them in and adjust my price like other restaurants do? These are the DRIEST, SALTIEST pastrami sandwiches we've EVER ordered! Its like bread and salt flavored with tough beef. Lemon pepper chicken salad is salty as well but becomes slightly edible if you drown it in Ranch dressing. We should've just stuck with our usual (ROB'S DELI in UNION) but that's what we get for trying something new. They shouldn't even have one star but they gave me 2 can sprites for the bottle I ordered which is a decent substitution. So I decided to give this place another shot, as it's been over a year. No improvement at all in fact I think I may be worse. I ordered a Taylor Ham and cheese, from the look of the cheese, it seems like they use "singles" instead of a good sliced deli cheese. The Taylor ham was just undercooked, and soggy. And the bagels, are not traditional at all, more of a supermarket type... Sad and disappointing. Even sadder is the lack of response to any of these reviews... I ordered a Taylor ham with scrambled egg and cheese what I received did not resemble any scrambled egg I have ever seen. I had to remove the egg from my sandwich because it was white and slimy. I have been here several times. I have to say I don't seek this place out. I'm usually starving and want to eat something on my hours commute to work. The foods that are made there like the fried chicken cutlet is really good. They have a gem employee Sharon. She gets the order right and can cook. I have to report when that employee is not there, the place is dysfunctional and last WED about 3:00 it took 20 minutes for me to get a sandwich. I was the only one in the place! Then I had to be rung up, I had a sandwich, piece of cake and a soda. It totaled 11. 53 . The guy could not mentally make change of the 20.00 bill I gave him. That took another 5 minutes. I want to support every small business I can. I don't have 30 minutes to waste. If there were other ppl waiting for food, I might still be in line waiting. Really good place for halal burgers It is close to Elizabeth which is great. There is an Afghani restaurant that has authentic halal food and the only place around Elizabeth for me to take my family. They said it was open for labor day and the next day when we went, the place was closed :( At least we have a burger option in the neighborhood. Great breakfast place..I gave 2 stars because they make really decent breakfast Sammies/breakfast specials. But unfortunately they are so so on everything else. Based on breakfast we ordered a Cheesesteak and a Cuban with onion rings tonight. it was meh. not really nasty..it was edible.. but nothing to write home about..much better places for after morning orders in town. the onion rings are of the dollar store variety. Really small helping of fries in combo were really soggy.. Cheesesteak was somewhat bland, Cuban was marginally better...again not awful but very meh. Wow!..They do pizza.too.. it says on their menu...I don't think id try the pizza based on tonight's order to be honest i really wasn't thinking of doing so anyway with the amount of awesome pizza joints in the area. Very good veggie burgers. And big too. They aren't on the menu so you have to ask for it. My husand thought it tasted alike a Whopper. They put all the fixins on it and which is how we like them. This place has NEVER failed us every time we order whether it's breakfast or lunch the food is always delicious. Their breakfast bagels and sandwiches are delicious always well done to your liking. The boneless BBQ wings and their cheesesteaks are to die for ! Every time we order when we have company they always want to know the place we ordered from because they just loved the food so much. Dont go here. They cant even make eggs. If you order scramble eggs they wont be cooked thoroughly. It will be like eating snot. Then if you tell them well done its too well done. I can cook eggs without them being like snot or overdone. If they cant cook eggs I doubt anything else is good. So that place is on my blacklist. read more
