I needed a front-end alignment and two new tires. The shop handled this in about 90 minutes even though I had no appointment. Tires are fine and my truck now steers straight (instead of pulling to the right like before). I saw no "front desk personnel" (folks with clean hands, clean clothes, and no idea about car repair). Instead I was able to talk directly to the mechanic. I got straight talk about what was wrong and also what was NOT wrong. They did not try to upsell me or lie to me about the condition of my car. Very disappointing experience. Save yourself time and money and go elsewhere. Wish I had listened to the reviews here, specifically the reviews which describe INTENTIONAL damage by the shop. When I called over for a quote the owner seemed friendly and as a result, I decided to give it a shot, and showed up in good faith, despite the generally unfavorable reviews. After my experience I'm convinced any positive reviews are fake as this owner (Mike) seemed to me as shady as they come. I've spoken to AAA about my experience and they said they are reviewing their affiliation, after numerous and serious customer complaints against this shop. First sign of trouble: the owner starts talking about all the work he thinks the car will need WITHOUT EVEN LOOKING AT THE CAR. You'd think the first thing a mechanic would do is look at the car and give some feedback. Yes, instead of the normal "let's have a look" and giving an opinion based on actual observations (which is standard and normal for a mechanic to do) the owner Mike started with what appeared to be a well rehearsed speech. He was spewing the same to another customer in the waiting area, and it just reeked of slimy. Against my better judgment I left the car with Mike - someone I was convinced had no character. When it comes time to pick up the car the price I had been quoted was not honored. Worse still, the quality of the work was completely lacking. I had to take the car to a different mechanic immediately after service, and the other mechanic confirmed to me that the work that was done seemed deliberately designed to have the car fail. It's beyond their crazy prices, this company is dishonest and simply dangerous to step into. The owner is a fast talking type of character so I can only imagine the kinds of excuses and replies he will leave here. He has a script when you walk in. His girlfriend at the front talking about how she's "on your side" and then he goes on and on about how much his rent is, how no one listens to him, how it's going to be a major surgery. buyer beware here - it's not an honorable business. read more

Don't waste your time going to this shop. If it's a big project you will have to go back 3-4 times to fix the problem. One of the mechanic didn't even seal my value cover and oil was spilling all over my engine. Then he agreed to a price and now he complaining about it. But always say money isn't t a issue. Sadly after going to Mike's for regular service/oil changes for several years we had an experience recently that has guaranteed we will not be back. We took our 2017 Subaru Forester to them to replace the front struts after the car developed a pretty serious shimmy. We were first told the process would only take one day, then told that the parts would take several days to order. No worries as we were heading out of town and had a rental booked, so we left the car at the shop over the weekend. When we returned and picked up the car, there was a loud knocking sound coming from under the front passenger side that sounded like a loose mount. I took the car right back and asked them to check their work. Their mechanic took a ride with me and said he could not really hear anything though the sound was clear as day to me. He said he'd check all mounts, but found nothing after doing so. We drove the car for a few days and the noise kept getting louder, so I took the car back, drove around with the mechanic again and had him look at the mounts again. At this time he said all his work was good and suggested that replacing the front struts may have created a situation with the older back struts and recommended changing those as well. I told him we would hold off on that and took the car to our Subaru dealership to take a look at the issue. The certified Subaru mechanic found a loose strut mount (exactly what I suspected) and he tightened that up. Problem solved, sound gone, resulting in us being $250 poorer. I took the Subaru mechanic's report and invoice back to Mike's and requested a refund of at least the amount we had to pay to Subaru to get the situation fixed. Joe, Mike's shop manager said they would not refund any money and claimed that the issue was due to faulty parts, which were warranteed if we wanted to bring the car back and have them swapped out. They offered us two free oil changes in lieu of a refund. I told him that we would not be back. Given our previously positive experience with this shop it really surprised me that they refused to stand by their mechanic's work and make things right. So buyer beware. This shop has gone downhill. Apparently many of the other poor reviews were not off base. read more

I am beyond grateful to Mike and Mike's stuff. The guys inspected the car for hours without finding any troubles in the gear shifting. It turned out it was just my fault and they showed me the reasons why. They didn't charge a dime and help me all the way. A lot of other dealers would have taken advantage of the situation and charge thousand of dollars to change whatever was not necessary. God bless people like these ! Run as fast as you can away frlm this place. They charged me for services they did not perform and destroyed my BMW Z4 convertible top in perfect condition when asked to diagnose it. They cut wires, broke the top apart, lied about diagnosing the problem, claimed that the top needed to be replaced as part of a repair after they destroyed it, gave no estimate, charged to look at it after claiming that they would be able to repair it, and held the car hostage and claimed it was all plastic junk to conceal the damage they caused. I spoke to the owner, and he said he was done discussing it and charged me to get my car back after he destroyed it. He also broke my running board, clips, parts of the top, and tried to charge me an additional $2,100 on top of the $200 he charged to perform the damage. He also placed paper towels inside to conceal another damaged part, behind where the top would need to go down, and pushed trash under the seats. He and his business are the most dishonest and destructive of sny business that I have ever dealt with and I am filing a claim with his insurance and a lawsuit for damages out of principle, even though I am extremely busy. Do not go near this business unless you want your car to be destroyed, misdiagnosed, and trashed, and be charged for services not performed with no authorization, and an argument from the owner about all of these things with your car held hostage for made up labor and only damage being performed almost intentionally. read more

I originally went in for a regular oil change as recommended by my uncle. Mike was helpful by identifying that my transmission needed an urgent oil change, so I paid for the regular oil change and the transmission oil change. However, less than a week later I noticed the oil light would turn on and off which I thought strange since I recently had it changed. I then took it to Miller 40 on Bird Road for other non related repairs. The mechanic who saw my car called me and told me the oil I had, had leaked out and I needed an oil change. I've only had this car for 7-8 months and so far after 3 oil changes (including the one done at Mikes Great Bear Auto) the only time it has leaked has been after the oil change I received at Mike's Great Bear Auto. After sending a video of the leak, along with the receipt for the second oil change I paid at Miller 40 I did not receive a refund for the oil change however Mike offered me a free oil change for next time. read more

I am new to the area, and my car broke down after work one night. I was towed to this shop and hesitant for when I had to come back in the morning to tell my story and hand over my keys, being that I did not have a lot of choices to chose from to get my car towed to. Luckily, I was greeted happily by Dan 10 minutes before they even opened because I had to catch a ride to work. Dan is absolutely wonderful. He listened to my story, told me his opinion right away, reassured me of all of my worries, and I left with no doubt my car was in good hands. He called me for multiple updates, didn't hesitate when I asked him to also call my parents for approval, and even called me the next day post-pickup to make sure the car was running smoothly. I took my car on a Saturday morning and the manager (Bo) said I could leave it there after explaining the repairs needed. The shop closes early on Saturdays and I could pick it up Monday afternoon. After picking it up on Monday, I noticed when I got home that it had a lot of gas missing from the tank and there were 90 additional miles on the odometer! I found a receipt from BrandsMart in Deerfield Beach (25 miles away) and a football in my trunk! After calling Mike the owner, he admitted to knowing about it and said his manager made an error in judgment but he was a "good guy" and a "good manager." Everyone was great- Barbara who did the intake for me, and then the gentleman who fixed my car. Arriving after opening on a Saturday morning I was able to get my air conditioning fixed in 90 minutes. This was back in March, 2017. It's now early September, and the AC still works as good as when I left the shop. A month later my wife took the car in for battery replacement. Five months later and it still works! Moving to Florida I've found locating a good mechanic extremely difficult. That was before I found Mike's and I'm happy to endorse their garage as a place I trust to diagnose and fix my car. I had my son take his 2005 Nissan Titan to Mike's to be aligned. I told the manager Bo that the rack had been replaced recently and an alignment was all that was needed. I told him if there were any other problems please call me first before doing any work. We never heard from him and when my son went back to the shop he was told that his bill was $80 but there were more problems with the front end and he did what he could. The truck drove better before we dropped it off. The manager was more interested in an $80 invoice than doing the job correctly. We were driving from Houston to the Keys when our alternator went out on the freeway in Hollywood, FL. By chance we ended up at Mike's on the Friday following the 4th of July at 4:50 PM. Before even knowing the extent of our problem Mike promised that he would get us fixed up so we wouldn't have to waste our vacation waiting for repairs.
