Terrible service. We put our trust in Mike to fix our truck AC. He knew we were leary about spending so much money. He was so confident about doing this job, we were convinced. After spending $1500 and 6 visits, still no AC. Now he wants to charge another $1200 to replace evaporator. Crook!!! so sad. read more

THE SHOP OF A LIAR! My family and I have spent thousands of dollars here, probably over 10k easy and it was always nothing but great. The place was honest, fair priced and always got the job done. I buy a 2009 Toyota Tacoma and for three months it's driving perfect. Smooth on the roads and never shook. I decide that I would take the truck on a Tuesday evening to have Mike install new all terrain tires like my previous tires were. I pick up the truck Wednesday and realized that the truck was shaking a lot at certain speeds so the same day I return it and he said he will take care of it. I'm thinking it just needs a better balance. I pick it up again and it's still shaking. I go back and he rides in the car with me and goes on to say it's the all terrain tires that make the vehicle bumpy and I said but the tires before didn't give me this issue. Mike goes on to mention that "maybe it was the drive shaft" and I asked "why would it be the drive shaft when it's been perfect and at this shop for the past couple days, so how can it all of a sudden get ruined" ? He just says he doesn't know. Thinking that I needed to go to another location because he said that he didn't have a road force balance, I proceeded to go to discount tire twice which did not help the situation. I'm thinking maybe my tires weren't balancable and having me stressed out I finally took it to another shop where they found out that my drive shaft was bent and that I would need to replace it for 1200 bucks! They sent me a picture of a new bracket that was added on without my knowledge and the bend on the drive shaft. I show pictures to Mike asking if he added the bracket and he said yes but then proceeded to lie about the bent drive shaft and told me multiple times that I should have gone back to him when I did in fact go back twice clueless of what was going on when he knew that him and his team messed up my drive shaft. A once honest mechanic shop that we use to go to is now the shop of a liar. I am now down $1,200 bucks because of the mistake he made and decided to hide. No help from him, no partial repayment, no remorse. Just straight up lying. I don't recommend this place to anyone unless you want to get SCREWED! Go to a dealership or tires plus or a real company This guy butchered my car. Went in for one thing and he opens my oil pan to change the seal, finds a tensioner, decides hey let me see if I can make another $895, asks me if I want to do front seal and tensioner and tells me it's very important, I say what the heck I guess do what you gotta do. He sends my car out of timing, warps 9 valve heads and the head gasket and a number of other things. $3500 later I got my car back, he forced to pay for the cost of parts and labor for the parts he broke after holding my car for a whole month. Now due tot negligence, when he removed the engine he had to remove my ac compressor and such, now the ac has leaks throughout the whole system , another $1700 This guy is a does not personally work on your car, he has a shop full of ex felons fixing cars with half brains. He posts up all his certifications in the main office to make you feel you're getting a professional to work on your car, think again, he's just the foreman. Get ready for the clowns to dismantle your car and trust me it'll come back with problems. Unless you just need a tire changed or something just don't go here. I beg of you. Save your money your time and save yourself from being abused verbally after you catch them in their lies. read more

Let me start by saying I recently had a horrible experience with another local mechanic that after 3 tidings and $1200, I was left with a broken car. So needless to say was not looking forward to my husband needing work on his air conditioner and an oil change. What a breath of fresh air...how I didn't find this shop sooner I don't know...the owner (Mike) assured us fairness...kept in contact with us, got what we needed done...did not feel ripped off and actually looking forward to having a few other things fixed as we save the money for it. Found this place by chance and upon reading other reviews I felt this was the best place to get my car serviced at. First let's start by owner / operated. That's exactly what you want out a business. The owner is the first person the addresses your concerns. The owner is involved in the process of the car repair, and the owner is the person who tells you from A-Z problem, cost, repair time. This hidden gem is definitely worth visiting for you basic needs, but I strongly recommend it if you don't want to pay high retail prices at your dealer. It's not cheap because cheap does not fix your car problems. It's not expensive because there purpose is to build relationships worthy of your return business. I wish I would have had the experience with Tropical Performance as the past reviewers. I found the owner to be very deceitful when things went wrong it was never his fault nor his responsibility. The shop had my vehichle for over 2 months and it still did not run correctly (with a new engine). The sad thing about it all, I had referred a co worker to Tropical and he too had problems with the repairs. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!! This is by far the worst people to deal with. Unreliable rude,nasty always a guessing game I wouldn't let them fix my lawnmower garbage parts they use yet still have to pay for labor on top of labor. Horrible customer service from owner! I just left there without being serviced as the owner berated me with the assumption I arrived late for my appointment. Mind you I came in and was halfway greeted by the receptionist who failed to defend me to the owner when he stated I was not there at 12:30. Then he told me he needs a few minutes before helping me as he mumbled under his breath about me not being there. Being shocked and appalled by the back and forth, I decided to take my car elsewhere. The job was simple. Pre-insurance inspection. Very unhappy customer. Brought my truck in for what should of been a few hours of work to replace axel bearings. Got it back 3 days later. The communications were one way, I had to call to get up dated. I had to go over to the shop twice. I had to insist on communication about the progress of my truck. "Sometimes things don't work out" is not enough information. After I picked up the truck I noticed the truck wobeling on the drive home. Checked the lug nuts, they were loose on both rear wheels. My recommendation is to find a different shop for your repair work. read more
