I used to eat at Mikes frequently before they closed. The food was typically good so I was excited to see them reopen. I cannot review the food because I did not get that far. I was ignored by the hostess for far too long then when she did finally acknowledge me she was rude taking a tone like she was doing me a favor.the vibe was bad so I left and went down the road where the service was excellent and friendly. I was looking forward to trying the food again but i am not willing to go where I do not feel welcome. Fix the hospitality and I will he happy to try the food again. read more

I am so appreciative of the community role Mike's has played over the years. I've been going to Mike's since I was a wee lass subject to the whims of my parents' dinner tastes and Mike's was a tiny, dark room with tabletop games of Pac-Man (ah, the memories of a child). Mike's has been there to house friend and family reunions and to wish the high-school me (and thousands of students over the years, I'm sure) good luck - via their intersection corner signs - as we drove to marching band state finals. It's been well over a decade since I've graduated high school, and thinking of those signs of support still make me warm and fuzzy inside. It's been awesome to watch Mike's grow right along with me over the years, renovating and expanding their interior to more than twice the space and adding a rotating plane replica that to this day makes me break out my camera every time I visit. Now that I'm grown up, I try to visit local businesses every time I'm back in my hometown, and Mike's is one of those places. And it doesn't disappoint. They continue to offer friendly service, good food, and a comfortable small-town vibe that makes me proud to take my non-native friends to show what Kokomo is really all about. read more

Back in Kokomo and decided I needed a mikes pizza fix. I only order the pizza and breadsticks. The pasta sauce isn't great. My boys do like the Alfredo sauce though. The max pizza on a thin crust is my favorite. You can get the personal size for $7. We also really like the breadsticks. Everyone gets their own small pitcher of beverage, which is nice as the service is spotty. This is a good family or after the game place. read more

My wife and I were in Kokomo for our annual pilgrimage to my old stomping grounds. I decided to take her to Mike's. The place looks great. My wife got the vegetable soup and salad which was delicious. I ordered the tenderloin sandwich. It was just ok. We met an old buddy of mine there and hung out talking for an hour or so. I cannot speak of the other food on the menu but the thin crust pizza is amazing. That is all I order when I go there. Overall the service is above average. The plates and silverware need updating and there is some congregating of younger employees around the register counter that is a touch annoying, however, it is nothing that will keep me away from that pizza! read more

Now that I've eaten at Mike's in person (rather than getting pizza to-go), I can say this is a very nice restaurant with really good food. The interior is extraordinary and very nice. I've ordered a burger and fries both times. Both were very good; the burger char-grilled and the fries freshly made and cooked to a crispy golden and perfectly salted. Husband ordered pasta and said it was great. On another visit we ordered garlic bread as an appetizer and deep dish pizza for the main course. Garlic bread was crazy good--mainly because it was soaked in buttery garlic stuff. (What's not to love?) Pizza was huge and super cheesy. We took half of the pizza home. Servings are massive. On all of our visits the service was very good; the most recent server was a cute and spunky senior citizen who clearly loves her job and takes it seriously--and has fun while doing it. Food is gross. Restaurant atmosphere is great... Cozy and clean. That's it. I'm not picky but this place is laughable. Noodles are microwaved and bread is basically a hot dog roll. Sauce is ragu from the can I bet. There are lots if cars in the parking lot most nights which tricked me into trying it out. If you are craving Italian food, you're better off going to the Kroeger down the road and getting a frozen Marie Callendars dinner and taking it home and sticking it in the microwave. Bad, bad, bad. Very good for lunch every time we go. This is a regular spot for me and a friend to meet for lunch. It's pretty close to the halfway point between Carmel and Logansport. The breadsticks are great, the salads are good, the sandwiches are good and the pizza is good. Service is always courteous and prompt. read more

I feel conflicted about this place. On one hand the food is really good. Let's get that out of the way, the food is excellent. My wife and I shared an order of cheese bread and a medium pizza. They were both terrific, and well worth the price. However, the wait time was rediculous. It took us nearly 45 minutes to receive our order, and this was after the rush of lunch time service. Also, the atmosphere was a bit dated. Don't get me wrong, it was clean and well maintained. One could say it was a great looking early 90's restaurant. Sorry to say not a good eating experience. Saturday afternoon they were not busy but they had poor service. Ordered appetizers then salad and pizza. Very long time to get the salad. Waitress said it was someone else's fault. We also ordered a second pizza to go. Waitress said they lost it and when we asked for the bill they then started to remake it. I know that sometimes things don't go right but they didn't seem the least concerned about performing good service. I'm not a big fan of their pizza because of the lack of sauce and cheese and with the poor service won't be going back. I only discovered Mike's Pizza a few months ago and liked it. We visited about three times and even brought visiting friends. However last night will be my last visit based on the way we were treated by Kalie and Mike (the Owner). Kalie created quite a spectacle when I questioned our Salad and a Sandwich taking 40 min to prepare. I don't need to be lectured about how busy they are (the dining room was very empty), or how the wait wasn't unreasonable. It would have been nice to simply get an apology and the food that we ordered. Instead I paid for meals that we took to-go that were NOT what was described on the menu and we were treated as if we were in the wrong. Very unprofessional and rude treatment that makes me wonder how they have stayed open this long. Today Mike (the owner) called to continue to make excuses and say that he isn't interested in having customers like me that don't like their service. He stated that I am "banned from coming again". People like me that simply want decent service? Not a problem with me at all. Too many other places in town to be concerned with a small pizza joint like this one. read more

I've been going to Mike's pizza for years. As a kid that was a treat for myself and my siblings to go there and have pizza. We would go in just to see the plane in the center of the restaurant spinning around. I LOVE their sausage pizza. They put a very delicious crumbled sausage over their pizzas. They also have amazing breadsticks! I cannot vouch for the rest of the menu as I as boring as it sounds never really strayed from their pizzas and breadsticks. It's definitely worth a try to get some pizza here. read more

Mike's has some great food! The staff is hit or miss on being pleasant and attentive but usually pretty solid. But the food is WORTH IT. It's hot and very tasty. Their pizza is in my Top 5 of all time for ANYWHERE. Their pasta bakes and sandwiches are also good eats. Do yourself a favor and grab some cheesy garlic bread or bread sticks with cheese and a family salad before you get that Top Gun. Homey decor-a lil dark, a nice fireplace, it can feel cramped at times but go anyway. The food is that yummy, and the prices are fair for what you're getting. read more

I am pretty tolerant of an occasional issue with a restaurant, and I don't run to yelp to post negative reviews much, but we've had multiple occurrences of 45 + waits for food, recently, so despite this being very close to our home, and despite feeling they generally have good pizza, I can't see going back any time soon. Tonight, I watched several others who came in and ordered after us get their food MUCH sooner than we did, so I'm not sure what went wrong. When we made our server aware, she indicated half our order was already 'in the box', and that someone was trying to hurry the rest of our order. It was another 12 minutes after that (50 minutes from order to being served) before the food arrived, and then after I had gone up to inquire at the register to inquire again. I mentioned it at checkout, and got an 'I'm sorry', but no concession or adjustment to the bill was offered. Sorry, Mike's... I normally prefer going to non-chain restaurants, but you've got to do better than this. read more

My only complaint is the poor service. The place was not busy when we went. We stood for at least 10 minutes at the hostess area waiting to be seated by ourselves. Then waited another 10 minutes to see our server. We watched the people who came in next experience the same long wait, and walked out the door. Food is great though. I highly recommend the pizza, Strom, cheese bread. Your best bet is to order take out to skip the poor service (which has occurred every time we have ate in) and the plus side to that is they have a drive up window. read more

When I was a kid, I got so excited to get to go to Mike's Italian Grill for pizza. It had a distinct flavor and feel that really made it stand out. When I started dating my girlfriend (now my wife) I was so excited to take her here, and was disappointed that the chicken she ordered was obviously fried in rather old oil - having black specks all over, and a burnt flavor infused throughout. Had another experience where I ordered a full (16") sandwich, received half and when I asked the waiter (who was absent most of the time we were there) about it, he said, "yeah, I didn't know if you wanted it to go or what, so I just gave you half for now." Seriously guy??? We shelved the idea until after we were married, and we tried it again. The service was dreadfully slow, and they weren't busy. Took forever to get noticed and get seated, took just as long to get drinks...you know the drill. So, we tried them yet again, months later. Service was still slow, and they held up our mozzarella sticks so they could bring them out with our fresh breadsticks....a fair gesture, but the mozzarella sticks were then cold and rubbery. The entrees are usually decent to good, but the service just wrecks the whole experience. If you want fare like this, travel north a bit to "Harvey Hinkelmeyers," it's just as good, homemade, and service is good at it's worst. read more

We were a party of 7, some of them from Tennessee, anxious to eat at Mike's. they couldn't seat us, not because they were busy, because they didn't have a big enough table for us, so....they turned us away!!! First time in my life. Why do they not have more tables, they have 2 or 3, the rest are booths. I hope they haven't turned too many people away. My sister said she felt like she had been shunned, how embarrassing to me, after telling her it was the best pizza in town. Well, Mike's will never see anymore of my money. Guy who took order over phone was very impatient and seemed to be rushing me for my order. I've got other things to do too man! Calm down. Asked if there were any specials, he said, 'yeah just our regular one' - 'we've never been there, what is that?' - he seriously said, 'it's on our menu...' So weird. Our pizza was missing some crust and there were some burnt parts, it's like they just ripped off some crust that didn't look good. That's the best part! Crust was good though, soft and fresh. I hate to say it but after years of enjoyable food this restaurant has become complacent and lazy with making delicious, fresh food. I ordered the spaghetti and meat sause which was cold and tasted like a microwave dinner. The spaghetti was angle hair not regular, it was watery and the sauce was cold and tasteless. My mother ordered the vegetable beef soup that looked and tasted worse than can soup. It was room temperature and watery. The waitresses were more interested in talking with each other over serving customers. No wonder the parking lot was almost empty with this food and barely any service why bother to waste my money when I could get better food at Neds Corner Pub! Beyond dissappointed! I was not informed of extra charges for cheese bread or switching to Alfredo sauce($1/cheese/change in sauce) cost of meal was high considering it was only for 1 adult/3 kids who only did not get soft drinks. I have been traveling to Kokomo for a few weeks now and was told that I needed to eat at Mike's Pizza. Upon entering, the hostess stand had 3 staff around it, of whom none greeted me. Finally a man looked up and offered to seat me with no greeting or smile. My waitress was very pleasant and admitted she was new after I asked her for recommendations, which is fine. I ordered a small pizza. About 10 minutes later, my waitress stopped by again, gave me a plate, and said the pizza would be right out. 20 minutes later, I still did not have my pizza. Plus my waitress never provided me with any updates, or made eye contact, even though she passed by my table several times. I finally got my pizza, which was fine. I only hope my waitress was having a bad day and this is not typical of dining at Mike's. read more

Have been going to Mike's for pizza and baked spaghetti for several years. They have good food IF you can get waited on and IF they get your order correct. They last few times we've been there had trouble with both. They have a big turnover of help which means something is not going right in the business. We've been there when they was't very busy maybe 3-4 tables and had to wait just to get seated. We've gotten up and left the last 2 times we went there. Never again! Sad because it was close to home and went there quite often. Would be a nice place to start a restaurant. read more
