I have recommended people to Mike's locksmith at work (real estate) because they have great reviews and a co-worker of mine had a good experience. I have never been in the need of a locksmith until very recently. I have a new condo and the previous owner forgot to leave the mail key for me. She decided to mail it to me...bad idea, right?!! The mail key is now locked in the mail box...maybe?? I have no idea if she followed through and mailed it, bc I can't get into it. My HOA peps said all the mail had been forwarded and should prob get it rekeyed. I called Mike to help me. At first I asked to rekey the box for me. I first called Mike five years ago, and he's the only locksmith I've called ever since. In the last month, I had him do a complicated re-key (multiple units, with master keys) and he did it perfectly; I've had other locksmiths mess it up. I just had to take a second to write a review about the excellent and speedy work from Mike. Our realtor recommended Mike's work so of course, we called him right away. He answered immediately and was able to give us an appointment the next day due to being booked up on jobs (which worked well with our schedule). Mike called to confirm our appointment 20 minutes before our appointment time. Although we had been given a 2:30-4:30 pm window, due to him having morning appointments, he still arrived at 2:30 pm on the dot. Mike is a great locksmith, and I'd recommend his services without hesitation. We needed to have same-day service for having our front door and gate locks re-keyed. Mike returned our call very quickly, and made an appointment for two hours later. He was on time, friendly, and obviously extremely competent. The re-keying took about half the time I'd expected, and was done perfectly. Our front gate lock had always "caught" just a bit, and required jiggling every time. Not after Mike was finished. The keys for the re-keyed lock were so perfectly made that the lock turns without any catch or feeling at all. We had an excellent experience with Mike this morning after an extremely frustrating weekend. We got locked out of our new house late Saturday night and called a 24-hour locksmith "(PopALock"). They came out quickly but were unable to open the door and told us because it was a high security lock and had metal weatherstripping around the door, it could not be opened. We waited until Monday to get the key from the landlord, but they could not locate it and suggested we call Mike, as they use him for their properties. He came out in about 40 minutes (we live in Nob Hill, no idea how far his "home base" is from there), and had the door open in under 30 seconds. He made the guy from Saturday night look like a complete amateur. He was very polite and friendly, and his fee was roughly $30 less than what PopALock asked for.
