The receptionist is rude, Mike rips people off on Chemical and services, if you don't call him out. I used him for 4 years for service and Mike knew, I was out of town and he charged me $800 to open my pool. That was the beginning of the end. He pressures his people to spend no more than 15 minutes at your Pool. How clean do you think your pool gets. Do be his cash cow. read more

Rarely do people take the time too write a positive review on Yelp. This place is very very busy and pools are expensive. A $1 part costs $1 but knowing which $1 part to change is what you pay for. Hidden costs are not hidden. They are unknown costs. Mike's could waste time, show up and determine that these parts are needed, leave, and then wait for your response that you would eventually say yes do it so ultimately it'd be a waste of time. I prefer they just do it. The "woman" who answers the phone is one of the nicest people I have met around here. There is a difference between someone being rude and someone who is busy. She works the entire store front alone and often has multiple people in the store while managing the phones. Give her a break. As for service, I have requested things to be changed and they stopped me because it would cost to much and not needed yet. I can't think of many "1 star" rated places that would say hold off on $9k worth of work till you actually need it, maybe 1 or 2 years. Stop by the store in person, so often nobody does this anymore. You'll see how good this place is. read more

Horrible customer service, hidden pricing and expectations to pay the fees even though you never agreed to them. Had them come out to see why my pool was a bit discolored and scheduled a guy to come out since he would be out in the area and happy to com by to take a look. Never telling me that him coming by wold cost me 150.00. Had them close our pool and was told 275.00 got the bill and it was close to 400.0 never again. I will be filing a complaint with the better business bureau as well. I refuse to pay these charges. read more

The woman answering the phone is possibly the rudest person I've ever dealt with. I dreaded calling her. We scheduled a routine opening and they came out, took off the cover, and then told me they couldn't complete the process without the help of Mike himself. They left me with a swamp for a week before coming out to finish the job. I had to call three times because of no-shows and radio silence. He checked for leaks (the reason they couldn't open the pool) and said there were none. Mike himself is nice enough, and knowledgeable. Honestly I would've just chalked this one up to them being busy, (why I called back) but when I recently called back to close the pool - the woman on the phone was so rude within the first two minutes, I hung up. I can't imagine a more miserable person being your point of contact with customers. read more

I have used Mike for years and am never disappointed. All of the guys are awesome. This week a new employee, Trey, came to service the pool and he went out of his way to answer all of my 3 year old sons constant questions while he fixed the pump and did some cleaning. Mikes Pool & Spa has been servicing my pool for years, so when we decided to paint (concrete) I called for a bid, we received a step by step explanation and we accepted. They showed up to start the process of pool prep (crazy amount of prep) 3 days in all (32k Gal,12 feet Deep) the pool looks AMAZING. We are so happy with our "looks like brand new" pool. The WORST costumer service I have ever experienced my life. The woman who answers the phone is beyond rude. We hired them to open our pool, literally took them over a month to "open" the pool, they never got it fully open, then they charged us full price. They kept coming out for service calls despite us telling them not to because we had to hire another company to do the job they weren't doing. Got charged for all the times they came out and did literally nothing!!!! It was a nightmare! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! read more

I had this company come out and open my pool, as soon as they left I go check on the pool and water is spraying out the top of my sand filter. I immediately call the company, Janet tells me to turn the pump off and she will call them back out. They did not make it back out that day so I called the next, they came out and only thing that ended up being wrong was the top of the filter was loose and needed to be screwed tighter. They charged me $45 for that and still didn't make sure my pump was working properly. Make a long story short I had to you tube what was wrong with the pump, by it not being screwed tight and turned on by them it had sucked in air. When I got a few days off I drained my pump and refilled it and got it working almost a week later from them coming out. I called them back and spoke with a very rude lady named Tony who tried arguing with me and telling me my pump was "leaking" because my pool was so dirty. I tried to explain over and over again that it was not leaking it was spraying water out and why and that I took a picture of it. And that it never was even working properly to filter my "dirty" pool. I asked her to have Mike call me, which he never did, instead she called back and left a message relaying what Mike said which was the same thing she tried to tell me about my pool and that he would just write off my ticket and use it as charity and I can use another pool company. That's not what the problem was, I have no issue paying my bill but only if the work is done right, and all I wanted was to explain to them that if you come out and charge your customers at least make sure things are working properly before you leave. Myself and you tube got my pool working great and haven't had an issue since it actually started filtering my "dirty" pool properly. read more

I submitted work request on our spa on 9/12/17, due to a few of the jets not working. I emailed Mike's on 9/15/17 since I hadn't heard from anyone and received a rude response the same day, explaining that they were TRYING to get to our area. I thought I would receive a call ahead of time, letting us know when someone would be stopping by the house, but instead came home (7 days after I made the service request) to find that someone had left the cover on our hot tub partially open. I thought maybe a neighbor or someone else had decided to use it in our absence. My husband later found a note on our front door, explaining that Mike's P & S had stopped by and replaced a fuse that had blown. No further explanation was given as to why the fuse would have blown, as this could have been for any number of reasons. I emailed them again explaining my concern of no explanation/no call ahead of time and was told that since the unit was "up & running" after the fuse was replaced, no further work was needed. If we wanted to have someone come back to look into the concern further, there would be an extra service call fee charge of $75, plus $120 per man hour. We paid $100 to have a fuse replaced! If we had been home during the first visit, we would have been able to ask questions and maybe get some answers as to why the fuse was blown. But this is probably their way of making more money, so they have to return. I am waiting for the fuse to blow again, so that I can call another company to take a look at our spa. Customer service goes a long way, and Mike's did not provide. What a disappointment. Do not call them if you want fast, reliable service, only if you are made of money and don't mind giving it to someone else. read more

Superb service twice annually - he is our "go to" guy! While we were out of town our neighbor said excessive storms was overflowing the pool. We called Mike and he immediately drained the pool, checked the filter, and ensured all was operating correctly. His maintenance recommendations keep our equipment running great.
